Pinecrest is hard to beat. I went back because I used to go every year when I was a kid. It's still great. Didn't camp but stayed nearby. Still just as good as the times I used to spend there. The only reason not 5 stars is the lake level is low. Not there fault though. Thanks Mr California and Mrs drought.

Love it here! The trees, the water, and all the outdoor activities possible. We've stayed in their cabins and have loved it! Being able to just walk out your door and be right at the lake is wonderful!! The views and the fresh mountain air really relaxes you. Can't wait to go in the future.

Loved, loved, loved it!! The lake was awesome. Like a picture puzzle. Kid friendly lake. We Hiked, kayaked and swam. Campgrounds are super awesome! Nice size and plenty of shade. We all rode our bikes around the campground. Did want to leave but we have to get back to real life. Oh yeah, no service made it even better!

I love this place. There is so much to do here. There is a hiking trail surrounding the lake that is a great workout and a breath of fresh air. You can swim on the lake itself during summer days although the water is freezing cold. During winter months the place is full of snow and sometimes you can walk on the lake that has frozen over. A great place to visit, especially with dogs!

Really fun place. Been here both during the winter and summer and both have been great. During the summer we rented a paddle boat which was a lot of fun. The hike around the lake is about 4 miles, really tiring but fun. Probably go on a slow day, we are there on a Sunday and there was way too many people!

Perfect little getaway. We love to do day trips up here. The 4 mile loop around the lake is perfect exercise for the whole family, and you get to explore all the beauty and take in the lake from every angle. The water is just too cold for a swim, although many kids find it perfectly acceptable to swim in.

I had an absolutely wonderful time! Parking is free if you can find any, but the weather was great and the facility is really well kept clean. Very family-friendly. Definitely going to return soon, if not next season. It's definitely wonderful during the winter time as well as the summer time.

I went there the other day to go fishing on the lake with my son. The scenery is beautiful and it's a nice Lake. Later we walked the trail around the lake and found it a little bit too difficult for my son. it's a bit Rocky and steep in some places you have to be careful and watch your footing. Most people would enjoy the walk. we did not stay there overnight but we did use some of the facilities such as the restrooms and they were clean and well-kept. I look forward to going back again someday.

Just went for a hike with the family. The Husband Grandma, 10 year old, 7 year old kids and I hiked around the entire lake. There were amazing views, other trails to adventure but for a first time hike we completed it in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Don't forget to bring bug spray and slightly warm clothes. Depending on the clouds it could get a tad bit cold, especially if you jump in the water.

We visited in August and got a camping spot by the lake. The lake was beautiful, especially in the morning. We rented kayaks and had alot of fun. Make sure you put sunscreen on. The sun is very strong in August. This resort is great, would definitely come again.

We’ve been coming to Pinecrest Lake for over 30 years to camp, boat and swim. This year was a little crazy because of the pandemic and fires so we didn’t actually get to the lake until mid-October. This was our first time being here this late in the year and it was different but still a lot of fun. We reserved our party boat the week before and enjoyed a couple of hours on the lake. The water was lower than normal and we had a lot of fun discovering new rocks to jump from. Then we went ashore for lounging, swimming, and paddle boarding. It was nice having the beach to ourselves but we sure did miss our annual trip to the snack shack for an ice cream cone.

This is a beautiful lake during the spring, summer and fall. Lots of fun to be had by all members of the family, including fishing, swimming, hiking, and boating. During the winter, when the water is low and the snow has fallen, you can do some sledding. Please, when you visit, take out what you take in. The trash situation during our last visiti (during the current government shutdown) was atrocious. If we would all do our part to keep nature's playground clean we can continue to enjoy it.

Favorite lake hands down, clean water, clean bathrooms, maintained camp grounds, tasty soft serve ice cream and friendly park staff. You can enjoy a day on the lake with your boat, paddle board, kayak or just swimming. It's dog friendly and surrounded by redwoods, the hiking trail is amazing.

Absolutely beautiful! I have never stayed the night, but have visited for the day and definitely recommend it. You can park for free and visit for the day, all for free. There is a general store and snack bar. You can rent small boats, paddle boats, party boats, etc.FYI- I spoke with someone about the townhomes that are available to rent and was told that they book 1 year in advance! Keep that in mind if you're thinking if staying.

The cabin is very inexpensive, per night. However, this is most likely because it is run down a clearly showing it's age. All of the electrical outlets are worn out, and some sockets are so loose that plugs will fall out from their own weight. There is a good furnace, but it only works in the kitchen and living room, and turns the bathroom into an equatorial rainforest, while leaving all of the bedrooms ice cold. Additionally, there is no cleaning service as they require guests to clean the cabin themselves before checkout under the threat of a possible $500 fee.

The scenery is nice because of it's location, but it's always so crowded by people who don't clean up after themselves and the parking at the lake is a nightmare it takes about 30-60 minutes to find parking. I like to home around the lake but I'd prefer my camping in Long Barn as it's in close proximity to the lake but away from people

It's such a Beautiful Lake. It's really designed for families to enjoy all kinds of water activites & it's just such a relaxed atmosphere. There's a nice path around the whole lake, it's about 4 miles & you can take your dogs too.

This place is great. Perfect if you do not like camping, but like the outdoors. The only thing I would change is that you are contained. I prefer Lair of the Bear than Pinecrest Lake resort. The resort is about a 30 minute walk to the lake, maybe more.

Parking was my only complaint everything else was great, sun, soft serve and lounging around on the beach or hiking around the lake. We didn't use the indoor showers during our visit this time but they are a nice addition after a long day. The general store has all your needs during a short stay we bought our wood for the fire here.

The lake is an awesome getaway. It's beautiful up there. There is much to do, with rental bikes, boats, kayaks, party boats, fishing, hiking trails, mountain biking, or just plain lounging at the "beach". They have outdoor movies during the summer season.

Though this place is amazing be warned it is always very very crowded! If you are looking to get away from it all this is not where you want to be, this is just camping City Style. Pinecrest is like a little town within itself. But they offer friendly people, lots of activities, a lake, swimming, movie night, restaurant and even a general store. It's more for the glamper than the camper.

I liked The large lake but the camping part is really crowded. They have movie's and story telling at night. They have no hot water and $5.00 showers. There are boat rentals and a Beach. There is a hike around the lake with rocks to dive in. Terrible camping.

Friendliest staff. Stayed during the week and made our way out to the lake just after sunrise. So peaceful. The tennis courts seem to be a favorite for thebkids as the snow is piled pretty high and makes for the perfect sledding hill. We chose the motel room and it was very comfortable. Clean, rustic quarters. I appreciated the emergency gas light and the LED lantern, not that we needed them but in the event that we did it was nice to know it was there. Coffee and tea provided was much appreciated as well. The four of us were perfectly content. The wall heater worked great and the room was insulated well. The bathroom does get chilly but they have a ceiling heater on a timer, that could definitely use some dusting but it does work. The high ceiling made the room feel bigger. Their website clearly lists what ammenities are provided and at no ones fault but my own, i failed to comprehend that we would not have a fridge or microwave. But we are a resourceful bunch and we made do just fine. Next time Ill plan a little better and pack a few appliances to help keep the kids fed. The overall vibe of the community was great. Perfect place for families.

Pinecrest is a beautiful and quaint mountain lake. In the summer it's a reprieve from the heat and offers swimming, boating, fishing, camping and hiking opportunities. In winter it's a great place for smaller children to experience and play in snow. Very family friendly.

We rented a boat and spent time on the lake. It was a lovely day and we had a great time. The staff was friendly and professional. The equipment seemed a little warn down or out of date but it worked and got the job done. Parking was a bit tough but i don't know that you can blame the resort.

Many years of family fun!!Our father start'd deliver'g meat to the store over 50-60+ yrs ago (1950's). Back then it was simply a store, few cabins, camp'g area & the beautiful lake. Remember when the park'g lot was fill'd with music & danc'g dur'g the summer weekends. On 4th of July campers made funny instruments from wood scrapes or had kazoos & whistles so we could go march'g & sing'g around the campground, family friendly people! Our families ( Villanueva's & Aguilar's) would make yearly plans to meet up here to camp for 5-7 days rain or shine! As years past'd us kids grew up, married & our children have join'd in the fun. We were taught to care for & clean up after so it's ready for the next family. It's changed a lot with people that don't respect the area. Don't clean up the site, broken glass, cigarette butts, dog mess & tags. That's not right & makes it worst for the rest of us. If this is how they leave their house, don't come here or any other park to destroy & ruin these beautiful place! Want it to be here for future generations so families can come to love this place too!!Now we still would like to come up to relax & enjoy this wonderful place. Miss it, plus it's to hard to get a site, it's always booked when we want.So we go to Sequoia- King's Canyon National Park! Another beautiful park to visit! 🤩

Beautiful, not too crowded, great campsites, outdoor movie amphitheater in front of the lake, hiking, boating, rock scrambling, exploring, great little grocery store open late, very helpful park and store employees. Every visitor I spoke with seemed relaxed and happy.

In the winter the lake is eerily low and you can't rent a paddle boat but it's still beautiful and a great low-difficulty hike. If you can fish they're definitely jumping and they don't have so much space to hide!
