They are great at getting your business and initially installing the panels, but customer service and follow up is terrible! Within the last six months my Edison bill has gone through the roof! The panels are producing minimal energy, way below what should be produced costing me thousands over the months. When I reported this to Clean Initiatives, after several calls, I finally got a return text requesting my last 3 months Edison bill. They said they’d get back to me, but I haven’t heard back from them in over a month. I’ve been calling, texting and emailing since, but no response! I even visited their offices in Pasadena, CLOSED! Next step is reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and telling everyone I know about my experience!

Do not use this company. I have called for the last two weeks on almost daily basis to get a technician out to resolve my solar panels error code, but I have not been able to talk to a single person. All the phone calls go to voicemail and emails are not returned. I’ve left more than 5 voicemails with none of them returned. I even called the manufacturer and they said they need the installer to go to the site and call them to resolve the error code and there’s nothing I can do. This is ridiculous way of doing business. I’m paying for my electricity as well as the solar panel lease. what was the point of this, it doubled my expenses. I’m in the process of finding legal representation.

Clean Initiate Solar installed the solar system at my house. I have an issue where the house battery doesn’t power the house when the grid power goes down, even though the house battery is charged.The first time I called in, someone answered, and they responded with “we’ll check some diagnostics and call you back in 10 minutes.” They never called, and that was about 3 months ago. I’ve called them and left messages, and emailed, a total of about 20-30 times. They have not answered or respond since the first "we'll get back to you." I will be filing this review in as many forums I can, and with the Better Business Bureau, as a warning to other potential customers.Update: after posting the review above several places, Clean Initiative immediately reached out, sent out a service tech, and fixed the problem. I'm going with 4/5 stars because there still appears to be no way to reach customer service without going to such drastic lengths, but now I'm happy with the solar installation.

Clean Initiative! Has some of the worst customer service!! I’ve lost several days of pay cause waiting for a tech to show up and no one shows up. in last several months been trying to get my system worked on by needing to update are antenna cause are Solar Edge app will not communicate with our system I’ve called Kyle and doesn’t get back or a text back with up dates so I don’t know when are system Will get worked on cause I can’t keep taking time off hoping somebody’s gonna show up and they never do!!! I want to give a big thank you to Andrew Rodriguez, for a very well informed demonstration and walk through. This brother was one of the first good experiences I had in solar. He was able to answer all my questions it was very professional. The overall company seems to carry a lot of integrity and I look forward to contracting with them. Fingers crossed that we qualify Andrew just left with my info for my custom profile. I got a quoted estimate for a new monthly of $77. Hope I qualify I could sure use the savings.

Wow!! Just wow!! One of the best experiences ever!! Andrew Rodriguez was so polite as he introduced himself. Explained the different Programs his company was offering. I must admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but after asking a few questions and allowing him to walk through his presentation with me. I was sold! Not technically, because I went with the fully funded program, but nevertheless, I was sold. I’ve heard in the past about solar programs, putting a lien on your home, so I was skeptical about that. Andrew did insure me with that that was may be a thing of the past with other solar companies , but insured me it wasn’t what clean initiative was about even went as far as calling Pablo, his CEO which I thought was amazing, took the time out of his day to talk to simple old me. He could’ve handled that I’m off to Waze. I admire his integrity and honesty. I’d have to admit I will gladly recommend Andrew and his team to anyone interested in gaining knowledge in solar! He said I find out tomorrow if I am eligible for the program. Fingers crossed.! Can’t wait!!🙌🏽🙌🏽

I want to just shot out the marketing rep for clean initiative. His name is Andrew Rodriguez. He was super Duper helpful, he came off very polite and super informative, very knowledgeable and super kind! I’ve had such negative experiences with previous solar companies. I had completely lost my interest in further, looking into solar until today have not figured out if we qualify or not, but by far the best experience to date. Want thank you to Andrew Rodriguez from clean initiative. Just passed eligibility. Can’t wait to get my panels installed! Andrew was very knowledgeable and very informative during the presentation. Sold me halfway through his presentation but I let him finish hahaha. Absolutely recommend this company.!!! For everything. Even got a whole gas fan with the package! If you have a preference on who you wanna go with, I highly recommend this rep, very thorough and very honest. And the price was very affordable.

Your company was very well informed in your field I was surprised to how in depth you got during our presentation, that’s like sure you presented answered so many of my questions I’ve had before. I was worried about and heard so many times before solar companies, putting liens on your property, Sean insisted that it may have been true in the beginning phases of solar, but that that was something his company did not do and promised their programs were different and I don’t want to make that promise, but also went into great depth in detail about the programs I feel like you took a lot of time explaining this to me all that we were not ready to take part in the program. I really appreciate the time spent thank you once again would strongly recommend this company if you are interested in going solar.

Clean Initiative replaced my roof and installed new solar system efficiently, precisely, and beautifully! I am amazed at how quickly and cleanly everything was done. The crew was very respectful of my schedule and privacy. They worked in extreme heat and never complained. I was concerned about my 3 dogs but they slept in my kitchen through the whole time. I would recommend Clean Initiative without reservations! They are local in Pasadena, well informed, and very helpful.

Clean Initiative does not know how to conduct business in a professional manner. They took my insurance deductible payment telling me everything was ready to go. But in reality, they couldn't come to an agreement on the estimate to replace my roof with my insurance company. They then stopped all communication with myself and my insurance company. It has been 9 months and they refuse to return phone calls and emails from myself and my insurance about returning my deductible. DO NOT use this company, they are thief's!

Clean Initiative installed a new roof, 10 solar panels, and battery backup on my home in June of 2023. The installation of equipment went smoothly and the system works fine.However, the customer service from Clean Initiative personnel is not good. After completing the work and with the system operational - I made final payment in mid-June. Now - in October - there is still an outstanding balance from one of Clean Initiative's vendors for $1200 for roofing materials - that Clean Initiative doesn't seem to be able to pay. In mid-September, I received assurance from the sales rep, the Accounting Manager, and the President of the Company that the payment would by made by Tuesday, Sept 26. But as of yesterday, October 2nd, the company that placed a lien on my home for the $1200 informed me that they still have not been paid.As i stated, Clean Initiative customer service is not good. They will not answer phone calls, are slow to return texts or emails, and make promises they do not keep. Having fully paid Clean Initiative in June for services and goods - I still have a lien on my home from one of their suppliers - and Clean Initiatives promises to fix this situation ASAP have yet to be fullfullied.MarkOctober 3, 2023

Clean Initiative had the most integrity ive seen over other solar companies and were very professional and didn't over sell us and supplied us with all of the information we needed. I also love the fact how they say they are a home improvement company who's specialty is hime comfort! really made me feel at home. Andrew Rodríguez answered all the questions and stayed in touch all throughout the process. the entire process went extremely well, they were fast, they were efficient, they cleaned up and we had no issue whatsoever. Everything was explained to us, the warranty, what the materials are made of, and how they should operate. We highly recommend them.

I am not recommending Clean Initiative to my network that are considering solar. I’ve had two installations by them now. The first installation/job (~3kW system with roof and patio cover) back in 2020 went okay and they had a really good technician install our system. The second installation (~3kW system with LG battery) was a cluster**** and cost me a notable amount of money!Issues with the second install:* Contracted them in February 2022, initial installation occurred in ~Sept 2022. System never got a final inspection by the city/county and could not be turned on and permit approved until April 2023! (OVER 1 YEAR AFTER INITIATING THE PROJECT!)* I had to call and complain and bother the Service Team and Service Manager multiple times to get this project completed.* Final inspection would never have occurred except I had to proactively contact their service team in December because my system still wasn’t active, despite having loan payments started back in Aug/Sept!* Final inspection FAILED >4 times before getting a final approval and sign off by Inspectors. Each failed inspection, I had to take time off from work to be physically present at the house.* Due to delays in the project and not generating power (that I was already paying for on my loan), I owed SCE $900 in 2023!

**Update: according to the company's response below, some "customer service rep" responded to me...but that is absolutely not true. I do not appreciate the gaslighting from this company in order to make themselves look better due to a negative review. Also, this was *not* an outage we suffered -- this was a broken inverter and negligence on behalf of the company. All Clean Initiative had to do was handle the problem they caused with a small financial loss to them, but because they chose not to, they have lost all my referral business.Our solar panels worked great for a while, but then the inverter broke. Which meant our electricity bills went much higher. I am not writing this negative review to complain about the solar panels (we know things can break); I am writing this review because 1. it took weeks and weeks for Clean Initiative to send a technician to our house to fix it, and then 2. *nobody* has gotten back to me regarding my request for some type of financial reimbursement for all the time that the solar panels were broken and our bills were higher. I have called Clean Initiative several times (each time, customer service lets me know that my message is being marked as urgent). I have emailed Clean Initiative (Michael, accounting, and customer support) -- now three emails, and *nothing.* This is literally the worst customer service I've ever dealt with in my life. If you want solar panels, fine, but if you want longterm assistance, this is not the company.

Wow, these guys nailed it with my AC installation! Everyone was super nice and professional - made the whole thing a piece of cake.The install went off without a hitch and the system they put in is top-notch. Seriously, I've never had AC this good before. My home is cool when it is a nightmare outside.These folks cared about doing the job right and making sure I was happy.
