I’ve put off writing this negative review for a while now hoping that things would get better. First, everyone I’ve dealt with at Semper Solaris has at least been nice, but it just doesn’t make up for the disorganization and utter lack of communication. The Marine Corps motto is Semper Fidelis. Any Marine would know the company was founded by a Marine by its name, Semper Solaris. I’m also a Marine, just like their founder, and the fact that they associate their name with the Marine Corps is actually a bit insulting to me as a Marine because everything has been so bad.Initial Expectations vs. Reality: Despite a promise of a few months for the installation of 3 Tesla Powerwall batteries, the process extended to over a year and a half. This significant delay, seemingly unusual compared to other customers, was exacerbated by a lack of clear communication and updates, which I often had to initiate.Mismanagement of Existing Systems: My existing commercial Generac generator, which I explicitly requested to remain unchanged, was altered during the installation. This modification has compromised its functionality, including its ability to charge my cars, contrary to the assurances given by the sales representative.Installation Issues and Lack of Consultation: The installation process involved significant changes to my property, including moving my electrical panel and car charger, without my prior knowledge or consent. These major alterations were done despite my garage being finished with custom cabinets, and had I been consulted, I would have preferred the equipment outside.Disregard for Customer Preferences and Belongings: The installer made unilateral decisions regarding the placement of the third battery and removed a $400 Sense energy monitor without my permission. This action, bordering on misappropriation, was followed by misleading and inconsistent information regarding its whereabouts and return.Poor Post-Installation Communication and Service: Follow-up interactions have been marked by discrepancies and a lack of accountability, with documents being provided post-installation and not reflecting agreed terms. There is also a palpable sense of these issues being recurrent and familiar to the sales team, though not explicitly acknowledged.Overall Impact on Trust and Satisfaction: As a fellow Marine, I find the level of service and the handling of this installation by Semper Solaris deeply disappointing and contradictory to the values associated with the Marine Corps. This experience has significantly eroded my trust and satisfaction with the company.Final Assessment – Run AwayIf you are looking to have a solar system or Tesla batteries installed, I have to tell you in no uncertain terms, find another company besides Semper Solaris. There are too many companies out there to risk having an experience like mine.

Great company , very knowledgeable and helpful sales person . I met with Rhami and he advised me every step of the way . So glad I decided to add more panels as my bill has dropped considerably . They were very punctual and considerate throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend Semper Solaris .

Horrible service.They may be great during the sales process but beware if you ever have a problem they will NOT help you.I called on Feb 13 to get help, my solar has not produced for the past 2 months. Let me add we have only had the system for 8 years. I was told I could not be helped, I had to open a case and wait 7 to 10 days to be called back. During my 7 to 10 days I’ve called back four times and still received no help. Each time I called I was told I would have to open another case and wait another 7 to 10 days for someone to call me back. Today was my 10th day and surprise surprise no call. I would never recommend this company.

We researched some local solar companies to help us save money on your energy cost. We selected Semper Solaris as our company to install the project. We met with Paul Rampoldi for our consultation and he explained the process and benefits very well. It only took about 60 days from signing to installation to get our system installed. Our bill has dropped from almost $500 a month to $50. Thank you Paul and your team for a project well done.I would recommend Semper Solaris for your solar and battery project.

I wouldn't recommend this company to friend or neighbor. I originally got a quote for 25k but I signed for 40 k. My fault for not rereading the proposal. Tesla had the same offer for 25k with a free battery pack. semper Solaris wouldn't even try to sell me a battery when I asked. They said it would be done in aug and it didn't get done until late dec and was not operational until Feb. They underestimated my project I still pay a lot of my electrical. They say no electric bill but I pay about 80 a month plus the solar bill. It's not even the summer months. They informed me the installer(which I think was subcontracted out) completed their job and showed me a photo of the project completed. But they removed a critical part before they left. No solar for 1.5 months but I had to pay. They pushed the financial part and said it needed to be processed before completing it. After complaining to semper solaris they finally completed the project after several calls and photo evidence the part was missing. The fininacing department they select is horrible I missed a payment by 17 days because the invoice stated it wasn't due. I couldn't find the paper until now but they already placed a lien on my house. I tried to call them and they said there was nothing they could do and that if I were one day late, it would still be done. FYI second payment, which I was still learning their system, the first time being late, no grace period, and zero f was given by their financial company. LIKE I SAID I WOULD PASS ON SEMPER SOLARIS. They are nice upfront to get your business, very attentive, calls, emails, but you sign the paper work and you don't hear from them.Adding on 4/18/2024 to the already bad review. Mostly this is with their financing company which you will deal with if you select semper solaris. When I talked to semper solaris they said it wasnt me, it's the finance company policies. I don't buy it. SS selects them as their service financing provider. buyer beware. Anyway, I was trying to making additional payment to reduce the principle. Which I was told I could from semper solais before the amortization period ends. On your statement, you are billed a certain amount on the bill. When I tried to called service finance. They yelled at me and said I was wrong and applied it to interest. I told them it was not reflecting properly on the billing statement. They told me it was on a 31 day calender cycle not what is on the statement and goes towards interest. Again no where on this statement does it say that. On the back of the statement it directly states any additional payment would be going towards the principal. If you want to get riped off and yelled at go with semper solaris. FYI I never raised my voice to her, I was calm, and was not rude at all. She choose to become irate during the interaction. This was the the first time someone has raised their voice from their company.

I love supporting our veterans. Unfortunately Semper Solaris is veteran owned in advertising but not in values. I have experienced partial installation, contractors ghosting me on the project, and delays blamed on the city only to find out the delay was on Semper Solaris. The city inspector has now shown up twice with no technician on site. Semper Solaris failed to leave plans on site, did not bond gas, left open holes on the wall with no patch / paint, and did not place stickers where needed.The contractor made promises to return on certain days but did not. The Semper Solaris Representatives have tried to place blame on everyone but themselves, Semper Solaris continues to ask me for approval to show up on several days and be present only to cancel without notice. Veterans don't make excuses or blame others for their mistakes. The lack of accountability is what I expect from a company that doesn't use Veterans as a selling point. And unfortunately, due to the timing of rebates, I can not switch to another company. Otherwise, I would have to start the permitting process over.Semper Solaris has offered nothing to correct the issue; only pointing the finger at others. Perhaps a better motto would be "Semper Excusat"

Semper Solaris is by far the best solar company out there. I dealt with other companies that made promised, but never follow through. My bill was super high from the rate increase and I needed to do some thing. I met with Corey Krein that was very knowledgeable and personable sales person. He answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable with my decision of going on board. I definitely recommend Semper Solaris!!!😀Services: A/C system repair, Roof installation

We got our system from them about a year ago and from the completion of our system there has been nothing but issues! We got a system that the rep said would cover 120% of our usage well that has never been the case and we are constantly going offline which the installer had trouble with for hours from day 1. We requested and new box due to it having so much trouble from day one and they refused. After paying 40k I would think that everything would be in perfect working order to start. They sent out a technician that said he fixed it and within days it was back offline. They insisted that it was still giving us our solar credit even if we couldn't see it on our app. I once again said a brand new system should not be having all these issues and I wanted a new box which they refused a second time as it was working fine from their end they said. Well that was a complete lie. Our bill from Edison is $1500. Our system is not only not working but we now have not only our solar bill to pay for but the highest Edison bill we have ever had without solar. We are very modest when it comes to using our electricity and buying a 40k system that was way over our usage we normally use to ensure we wouldnt have a Edison bill has completely failed us. We have reached out several times with no call back to resolve this issue. We choose this business because we are a police and military family. I wouldn't recommend them at all! Worst decision we have made, its very sad to represent themselves as a honorable and honest military company when they are clearly not. This is unacceptable at every level getting solar is supposed to save you money not cost us 4x what we were paying before we got it! Wish we would have done more research on them and not just based our decisions on them being a military service conpany. They start out wonderful until the contract is signed and you are locked in. They give the amazing men and women who have and are currently serving a bad name when they represent themselves and the company as honorable and trust worthy military based. At this point we are beyond disgusted at the poor level of service from this company!

Had semper Solaris install my solar panels 20 16 so I figured I would have them do mine battery. It took 250 days to get my battery installed and pass inspection. Terrible. Don’t use them they don’t follow the instructions given by the inspector. Therefore I failed numerous times extending out my finish date. Try to find out what happened. Talk to a representative. It has been over 10 days and they haven’t gotten back to me. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible

Wow! What a great experience from start to finish. I particularly want to point out what a great job Hans Rheinheimer, the sales consultant did. He was extremely patient and thorough and set reasonable expectations for cost, timing, and solar production. I shopped around a fair amount, and had one bid that was lower than Semper Solaris. It was the professionalism and integrity that Hans showed that convinced me to go with them. I also really appreciated the regular project updates I received. Each step was listed along with the expected time frame for the step. Some of them were broad, like building permits 2-10 weeks, but knowing the best and worst case really helped set expectations. And they provided regular emails and phone calls so I was never in the dark. Overall, a 5+ rating. I'm very pleased!

We are happy that we went with Semper Solaris for or solar project. The process took longer than we thought it would, but they were great with communicating with us every step of the way. Everyone we talked to during the process was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this company.

It took 7 months. I missed several days of work due to scheduling mishaps. I was lied to by the sales rep. I lost power to multiple outlets. My main panel upgrade was downgraded to a relocation. The tesla battery I wanted I was told isnt as good as Enphase also not true. The panels are from Germany and the other equipment is from China not USA. Overall im extremely disappointed and even considered seeking legal action. Your home is an important asset and people should respect that. Jesus was cool in the end trying to fix everything but too little too late.Update: The finance company sent me a letter stating that the solar company is trying to resolve the issue with me. LIE AGAIN! WHEN WILL IT STOP. THIS COMPANY IS RUN BY DEMOCRATS. DO NOT GIVE THEM A PENNY! I AM CONTACTING CSLB. A COMPLAINT WILL BE FILED FOLLOWED BY A LAWSUIT IF THIS ISN'T ADDRESS QUICK. For the second time in two years my inverter has gone out. The first time I was unaware that I would not be notified by the company if anything breaks-I lost a month and a half of prime summer solar. I check my production myself regularly now and realized my solar had stopped working AGAIN. After being bounced around from person to person for two weeks and being told to turn it off and turn it back on several times, someone finally called back to schedule a tech to come out. Apparently the soonest they can come is in a month, and that is only to determine what’s wrong! I am going to lose an ANOTHER entire summer of solar production. When I stated this they were completely unapologetic and just said that they are very busy with repairs, and did I want the appointment or not. They said if I didn’t accept this timeline then quote “you are going to have to wait even longer.” My system cost $22,000 and is supposed to have a warranty for 25 years on all parts. What good is this so called amazing warranty if the system goes down all the time and the company refuses to come and fix the problem?????

We originally had Tesla for our solar. We lost communication with them, which I later found out it was on my part. So we decided to go with Semper Solaris in the meantime. We are former military and felt going with a military owned business would be good. After being in the contract for only 10 days, Tesla reached out to us to fix the issue. Tesla was able to give us more kilowatts for a lot less than Semper Solaris. In other words, more solar panels for less. So I asked to cancel the contract, which again, we only had for 10 days and they refused to return our deposit. They said they had a 5 day cancelation timeline, which I do not recall them telling me over the phone. Their deposit is $1000 compared to Tesla's at $250. With Tesla you can get your deposit back up until installation. If you go with Semper, they are more expense and make sure you shopped around because once you give them your deposit you will lose it

Semper Solaris is the first company I have felt compelled to write a review about. I believe in their service and commitment to their customers. The professionalism and quality of work is second to none. They are very responsive to email and phone calls, project was completed on time as promised and producing exactly what they said it would. Being a Marine Corp veteran, the whole experience is what I would expect from a veteran owned company. I have and will continue to recommend them to all my family, friends, or anyone looking to have solar installed on their home.

They were great during the installation process, but if you have any kind of issue they ignore you in hopes you’ll go away. We have been unable to go on line to see if our panels are working and what our usage is. Our mother board has gone out twice. We finally received the second one, our system has been down for 4 months now. They sent us the motherboard, but we can’t get a hold of anyone to place it. I would not recommend this company, if you’re looking for any support after they have received your money or signed contract. They are really good at ignoring all calls, emails any kind of communication.

From start to finish, the best service I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing! We had solar, and a new furnace/air conditioner installed. From the sales rep, the schedulers, to the HVAC and Solar install teams, everyone we interacted with were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Any concerns or questions we had were handled promptly. From the time we signed the contract to the county inspections required to approve the completed work, the time frame was just under two months for everything. The workmanship of each install was completed with not only excellent skill and attention to detail but they each took the time to explain what was happening and what to expect next. As a home owner, I understand the complexities of choosing the "right" company, I am confident when I say hands down we made the right choice!

Claim to be pro veteran but charge veterans much more than anyone else. They brag about overcharging veterans because they won't take their businessany where else because of their "Pro Veteran " branding. They are only pro taking veterans money on a false premise. Terrible company. Don't do business with them. Their prices are higher than anyone on the industry but terrible service and slow installations.

I chose Semper Solaris for solar roof install for my house. For me they offered the best combination of panels, technology, design, and price. I also like the fact that their salesperson visited me in person as opposed to a web-based consultation. They helped me get HOA approval and in a timely manner completed the install. Their crew was very professional and they even went as far as replacing some broken roof tiles that I had. To follow up, their customer service team consistently maintained communication with me until and after I switched the system on. I can't be happier.

Semper Solaris recently completed a solar and Tesla Powerwall battery installation at our home. Our experience was extremely positive all the way around. Semper Solaris is really a top notch company, with knowledgeable staff and installers, a well-deserved excellent reputation, and great customer service. They kept us well informed along the way, and were always highly professional and efficient. We thought their prices were very competitive. Our sales consultant, Bernie Townley, and customer service coordinator, Pavel Morales, were just great - very responsive, extremely helpful, and it was a pleasure to work with them. We would give this company and all the individuals with whom we had contact our highest rating and recommendation.

Update 10/18/2022 - They replaced the inverter under warranty on September 15, 2022. Was still having issues and they came back to correct them with in two days. The system is working just fine and today they were able to provide the website information to monitor our system.Update: I was very happy to receive a response to my review on the next business day. They ordered the inverter. They do not know the expected time of delivery at this time. I appreciate them reaching out and communicating with me regarding this concern.Our newly installed system of just over a year had the inverter go out. We had issues from the beginning that were ignored. It took two weeks for them to respond. They did after two weeks, we were told the inverter needed replaced and would be ordered.Two weeks later an appointment was made to replace it. The tech shows up late to tell me he will check the unit. NOTE we have not had solar working for the past month in the desert always over 102. Today 110 along with electricity being turned off from the electric company.I told him a tech was out. I informed we were told the inverter needs replaced. I said one should have been ordered weeks ago. He said it was not. Sorry for the miscommunication on their part.I sent them an email weeks before which addressed the fact the damages incurred due to having to pay for the electricity and how were they going to compensate us since we purchased their unit over 60k. No response. Now another day off of work, no pay and no response from the company.I explained all of this to the tech. He informed his supervisor would call me right then and he left. Never received a call. Followed up with an email to them as well as a response to their were you happy with our service. No contact made by them.This company has failed to communicate. Has no regard for their client and just doesn't care.

Semper Solaris has been great to work with. Some of the process is out of their control but they are on top of everything that is within their control. Their installation crew was polite, professional and stopped to answer my questions and concerns. The office personnel were always following up after each step in the process to make sure that I was completely satisfied at whatever particular stage of the installation that I was in. They also kept me informed as to what was going to happen next. Definitely recommend them and if needed will do business with them again.Semper Fi

Excellent customer service! Quick install on my 22 solar panels. Installed November 6, 2020 and December 28, 2020 for roof inspection. Permission to operate on January 20, 2021. Might have been a couple of weeks earlier for permission to operate, but I ended up adding 2 Tesla Power-walls which are still in the beginning stages and have not yet been installed. I am glad I called Semper Solaris on January 15, 2021 to check on the status of my permission to operate, because they informed me that they were going to wait until the power-walls were installed and submit together. I asked if they can submit right away, because I wasn’t sure on how long it will take to get the power-walls installed. I got an email stating that it was submitted on January 18, 2021. And on January 22, 2021 I was granted Permission to Operate!I had a little issues with the placement of the conduits on my roof, but that was fixed to my liking right away. I really suggest to prevent that issue when they do your install, just double check on how they will be running the conduits on your roof before they do it.The customer service was excellently handled by everyone on the Semper Solaris Team. From my sales rep., scheduling team to project manager and on sight field installers. I was really pleased on how organized the the Semper team work.My solar system is working great! I am really pleased on how much this system is saving me.I can’t wait to get my Tesla Power-walls installed. I will be back to update!
