I hired Recom to remodel my kitchen and deb and add a wet bar. It was a large job (62 handles were required for all of the cabinetry) that replaced everything in those areas after 30 years. I have been planning this for a long time, but I’m far from an expert, so I appreciated the team’s, guidance and advice as we move through each step of the project. Even though it was extensive, the job moved along at a fast pace and was completed in about nine weeks, which I appreciated since I did opt to live in the house during construction. People showed up every day to work and all of the subcontractors were lovely, polite, and respectful. Cara was the project manager. She answered every question promptly and was extremely responsive and attentive, especially to someone who is not very knowledgeable about remodels. Cara was extremely patient and made suggestions that were very helpful. My kitchen and den are absolutely gorgeous. Just the outcome I’d hope for and without all of the pain I had anticipated. Thank you, Remcon and Cara!

We have been planning a remodel since we purchased the home over 10 years ago and spent an exhaustive amount of time reaserching and planning every detail. We know this is our forever home, so when it came to selecting a general contractor to create our perfect kitchen we wanted a company that could deliver great quality, care and attention to detail. Simo and the team at Remcon understood our goals and vision, and helped guide us through the process from design to suppliers and construction. We never felt pressured or rushed even when we haulted construction to make design changes. Simo worked tirelessly to modify the construction schedule to accommodate our demands. We chose to remain at the house even while over 50% of the house was under construction. Simo made sure that the site was kept clean at all times and that we knew the planned scope of work each day. This was not a quick process but the finished product was well worth the inconvenience. We are in love with the our new kitchen, dining room and family room, and have Remcon to thank.

Simo and the Remcon team were excellent. Responsive, honest, straightforward and damn good work. It was my first home remodel and I heard horror stories from all my friends so mentally prepared for the worst. Together, we (me, Simo and his guys) navigated through all the inevitable surprises you find when demoing a 50 year old house and nothing I dreamed up was impossible. The construction team and subcontracts were all a delight to have at the house and their attention to detail was as if it was their own. There were no corners cut and Simo from Remcon rolled with (and embraced) my neuroticism :) I would, and will, use them again and highly recommend them to anyone who is asking.

The finished product was top quality. Remcon is not cheap but you get what you pay for. We will use Remcon again for our next project.

We had Remcon remodel our 20 year old kitchen, laundry and bar area. We worked with Lia and Simo, and both were great. Both had a lot of good ideas during the design stage and helped us hone in on a final solution quickly. Simo helped us with the material selection. Lia checked all our appliance selections to make sure everything was going to fit okay. Lia had us work with a couple of different cabinet vendors to make sure we were getting value for our money. All of the staff and subs were professional and did quality work. As with any remodel there were a few things that went awry, but these were quickly remedied. I contracted Remcon to remodel the 2 1/2 bathrooms in my townhouse, as well as to do some other updates to the upstairs (new linen cabinets, replace carpet, upgrade bedrooms, etc.). It was a pretty large project, and I was able to move out of my house while the work was being completed, which saved some time and money. I was very happy with not only the result of the renovation, but with the process of working with Remcon.Simo was my project manager, and he was fantastic. With all the horror stories you hear about contractors, I feel like I got extremely lucky. From the moment he came out to see the place and give me a quote (by the way, Simo made time on a holiday because that worked with our schedule!), he was a true pleasure to work with. He always worked to get me the best quality at the very lowest price possible. At every stage, he did everything humanly possible to make me happy and help make sure I get the results I want.The contract was very specific and laid out everything that would be done. They do quote the labor separately-- and then whatever materials and finishes you choose are purchased directly from the vendor. I think this makes a BIG difference in helping people save money. Unlike other designers and contractors, they don't take a "cut" or a "markup" on everything you purchase. They get a significant contractor's discount and pass on ALL of that savings. In addition, Simo took me shopping! We went all around town looking for tile, plumbing fixtures, and everything else we needed and he was helpful in choosing things that would look good as well as making sure all the specs would work. At every point, it was clear that Simo was doing whatever he could to help me save money and get what I wanted.But the best part was Simo's responsiveness and communication. We were in constant contact by phone, email, and text, and he came over almost daily to make sure the project was going smoothly and things were being done correctly. He always tried to work around my schedule for meetings and necessary appointments. Tony was the lead working on the project—he was a super nice guy who paid attention to detail and did a great job keeping things moving. All the guys on the crew were great, and that’s important when you have people hanging out in your home.Remodeling is stressful, obviously. There were various issues and problems that came up, but Simo was always reassuring and would do whatever it took to resolve everything as necessary. I was able to feel fully confident that everything was being done right and that no one was trying to take advantage of me, and that made a HUGE difference. Plus, Simo is just a super nice guy. His conscientiousness and sense of humor make him great fun to be with. I definitely missed seeing him once the project was over!I highly recommend Remcon and I am thrilled with my “new and improved” home!

We hired Remcon to build our poolhouse bathroom and from start to finish Simo the project manager for Remcon was fantastic. He came out to look at the project after I was referred to him from our designer. He understood the scope of work and the timeline and came back very quickly with a very detailed line by line proposal. The pricing was in line with another vendor who quoted our project, but Remcon's customer service and attention to detail is excellent. Simo communicated very clearly every step of the way! The subs were on time and did great work. Talking to the subs, you could tell they've worked with Remcon for a long time and they are treated right (not my experience with other contractors).I am pretty high maintenance and have a high attention to detail. Simo guided me through the whole process, showed me where I could save money, recommended vendors for fixtures, door, window etc. When shopping for a Quartzite counter as one example, I think he took me to four or five stone stores, until I was happy with the price and quality! (we had a yard installation 10 times the cost of this bathroom and that contractor was no where near as helpful, responsive, timely or considerate as Simo!!)The bathroom project was completed on time and right on budget. No change orders, no bait and switch. They performed exactly as they promised! I would recommend Remcon whole heartedly to anyone looking for a great bathroom/kitchen remodeler!

I had Simo as our GC for a complete remodel of multiple bathrooms and closets. He was professional, timely, on budget and did excellent work! Yes, you read that correctly - on budget and timely! Having done several remodels over the years, it was a real breath of fresh air to work with Simo. He cares about his work and demands excellence from his team. He consistently went above and beyond what was required, including helping with design. He even went tile shopping with me about a dozen times to make sure we got it right. I am a general contractor in San Diego that specializes in restoration, not the kind of remodeling projects that Remcon Design has mastered. I've seen their work and recently referred them to a customer who was adding an addition. They completed the project a while ago and I stopped in to see the result last week. WOW! As someone in the industry who knows quality and understands the challenges of executing high-end work, I was impressed. The design was fantastic and the quality of workmanship (especially the tile and cabinetry) was as good as I've ever seen. I will continue to refer my friends and customers to Ronen Barda and do so without hesitation.

I’m a repeat Remcon customer. After this experience with them remodeling my bathroom I will not be calling them for any future projects. Communication doesn’t seem to be their forte anymore. It took them 3 weeks to get me specs needed for sub flooring for my HOA to approve, after having to repeatedly ask for it. Demo started 10/9 and things moved along well. By the end of week 2 everything was done except plumbing. Which was nice as the contract says to expect 3-5 weeks, although Cara told me verbally to expect them to be done by the end of October. But as they reached the finish line….they started dragging their feet and left me on the back burner. Tuesday week 3, final plumbing was in. I was also told final touch ups would be done that day, they were not, and at that point I already gave them the final check for completion of work. For the rest of the week they came in one day and did paint touch up/paint clean up that got on the tile, it’s a small bathroom. After looking over the work I realized both sink faucet handles were loose and the medicine cabinet wasn’t properly sealed to the wall, they said it would be handled. Thursday week 4, trash that was sitting in my home for over a week was finally taken out, and that is all that was done that week. Tuesday week 5 I had to reach out and ask about them finishing, again, as nothing had been communicated to me at that point yet. Thursday week 5 they finally tighten the faucets and seal the medicine cabinet.***So to simplify that between weeks 3, 4, and 5 they were only in my home 5 times despite telling me someone will be there everyday working.I would also caution working with their recommended vendors.Rock tile -if you’re buying accent tiles and they order them in for you you have to pay for whatever package size it comes in no matter if you just need one or two 12x12 tiles (mine came with 5). No refunds, so inspect your invoice carefully as this is sent to you after you make your in store choices and after Remcon sends sq ft needed to them. Beautiful tiles though. Very satisfied otherwise.Shower doors—when I had my consult I said I didn’t buy the door yet but was working on it. I was told I could either get one or that they “had someone”, which made me believe it was internal, so I thought that would be a better option. I found out at the end they were not internal. Discount door and glass is the outside company—which is a joke of a name for the price they quoted. You pay them for the door and install. So if you don’t have an endless budget, save yourself some money, avoid the stress and delays and get your own door at the beginning so you’re not caught off guard at the end, as that process isn’t even started until the very end. I wound up having to hire a handyman for that part since I didn’t realize my quote didn’t include that labor, as I thought it was an internal job.All in all after all the headaches, the extreme slow down to finish, and what felt like constantly having to follow up with them to find out when things would get done, what check I needed to leave that day, the bathroom actually looks good and that’s one of the few positive things I can say. They also helped with a few repairs around my place

Remcon gave us the oasis master bathroom we wanted. At the design stage, Simo talked us out of things we thought we wanted that would’ve not worked well, and made us feel comfortable with the choices we made. As to the build part, everything turned out great. Simo’s attention to detail meant that even though our walls were oddly bowed, all the tile and baseboards are straight. When the bathtub was scratched during the install, he noticed it, and took care of getting it fixed. He decided our window frames wouldn’t work with the new design, and built frames that did. We also appreciated that there was no nickel and diming. The budget called for eight ceiling lights; when we realized we needed nine, it was added with no complaint and no extra charge. And when a few things went wrong, as they inevitably do, Simo took care of them as quickly as possible. He was always available by text, phone, and in person. “Trust me,” he said. We did. And we do.

Even with supply chain issues and normal construction obstacles, they pushed through and made sure every detail was completed to our satisfaction. Ronen was great at communicating at each step of the project to make sure our initial plan was carried through to reality. I recently finished a kitchen and bath remodel with Remcon Design Build and had a great experience. I highly recommend Remcon for home remodel and construction services.The project: Kitchen and bath remodel including downstairs flooring. After years of procrastination I received bids from several general contractors to give the kitchen a much needed facelift replacing original cabinets, counters, and tile floor thoughout. Some friends from the neighborhood referred me to Remcon who used them for a major home remodel. Remcon’s bid wasn’t the lowest nor highest of the bids we received. Of the general contractors I met with, I felt most confident with Remcon based on early impressions of not only their ability to provide quality work, but also good communication and connection with the Project Manager Simo Pinto. The project started quickly after an agreed on and executed contract. Work was steady and consistent with nearly no gaps between subs (demo, flooring, cabinets, 12etc) and at times, several subs working at the same time where possible. All workers were courteous, clean, and delivered great work.Takeaways: In my opinion, the project was a success and completely satisfactory for two key reasons. First, great communication and diligence from our PM Simo. Simo made it clear they would not start our project until everything was in place including all materials and appliances. This prevented scheduling gaps and rework. Simo does not forget a thing. Second, I was prepared to come up with material selections without the help of a designer. I had an idea of what I wanted but was able to lean on Remcon to stay in bounds. They have seen it all. We interviewed several different companies for our kitchen remodel but ultimately decided to go with Remcon for a couple of reasons...and we couldn’t be happier. Ronen came to our house to give us the initial bid. He was very kind, knowledgeable and understanding of our wish list. Ronen remained our main point of contact throughout the project. We also worked closely with Lia who was absolutely fantastic as well. Ultimately, we chose Remcon because felt that Remcon would be able to help us create our dream kitchen and also say within our budget. While we did go over budget, Remcon certainly was able to create us one beautiful kitchen! The whole Remcon team worked so hard to give us a (mostly) working kitchen for the Thanksgiving holiday. Remcon was able to remove a couple of walls (one of which was load-bearing) without having to have any posts—they were able to hide the beam in the ceiling. This was a game changer for us! We love the open floor plan that they were able to create. They even were able to build us a custom hood, which we really love. Thank you so much Remcon!

We hired Remcon to complete a fairly involved remodel of our not-so-uptaded 1960s house. They did a 200SF addition connecting our house to our garage, put in a new kitchen, new powder room, remodeled two bathrooms, removed two load bearing walls, moved other walls around, installed Panoramic doors, new flooring, paint, etc.Ronen and Roy were great to work with. Because of the complexity of the project, there were definitely some bumps along the way but they were able to give us good options and solutions to the problems that arose.The best part was that the project length was way under estimate so we were able to move back into our home much sooner. Our contract said 5-6 month sand they finished in less than four!We would definitely recommend Remcon.
