We recently had a problem with a stucco exterior wall. The stucco had begun to bubble. We asked Taylor Made Construction for an estimate to repair the stucco. After some discussion, we agreed that replacing the stucco with siding would be a better long-term solution, being more durable and less prone to damage from rain. Once the project was started, the work proceeded quickly, with demo of the stucco taking a day, the installation of the siding taking another two, and painting the new siding a half a day. All three phases of the project went very well, with all of the workers doing their part efficiently and with good quality. Throughout the project, everyone at Taylor Made communicated constantly, being quick to answer our questions. We were particularly impressed by our interactions with James, Melissa, Chelsea, Alex, Brandon, and the owner, Steve. We would use Taylor Made again for another project.

My new deck is wonderful! A definite 5 Star plus job. From the initial inquiry about decking to the completion, the process was easy and professional. James was patient and thorough in answering all my endless questions. Ben and his crew were efficient and very professional! They worked hard through rain and put in long hours to complete the job in a timely manner. Ben and his crew were not only hard working but friendly and tolerated my dog who wanted to play. Ben answered all my questions and made sure I understood what was being done and why. Office staff was equally responsive to questions that came up. After a few weeks of research and a couple quotes, we called Taylor Made and Andrew came out to hear our grand vision for a two story deck with a roof, a separate deck/staircase, and several external doors, including a custom slider. Andrew's exceptional mustache gave us an immediate sense of confidence and we knew we'd found the right company for the job. Sadly, that mustache is now gone, but our confidence remains nonetheless.Let me start by saying the work done by TMC's crews is outstanding, as in better than I imagined. If you want something done as cheaply as possible that won't last or add beauty and value to your home, look elsewhere. These folks are quintessential professionals. Set your expectations high for the final product and you won't be disappointed. Do set your timeline expectations realistically however - proper engineering and permitting take time so don't expect them to be rushed, but once TMC unleashed Johnny, Mikey, Eddie, Kevin, and a host of other amazing deck and door artists on my project, there was steady progress. Weather occasionally slowed things down, but only when it was clearly necessary. Progress was never rushed at the expense of quality either. Sincerely, Johnny's attention to detail is so impressive that I want him to do my next shoulder surgery. Or tattoo. Maybe both.Was everything perfect right away? No, of course not but it was close, and this is where TMC shines the brightest - their entire crew listens to their customers and refuses to just shrug their shoulders if something isn't exactly right. Everyone on site and everyone in the office handling planning and payments, like Rachel, Ricky, Chelsea, and especially Melissa didn't ever (seem to, at least) tire of hearing from me with questions or requests for information. To a person, everyone at TMC is clearly focused on making absolutely certain that the reality of their work meets (or in my case exceeds) their customers' expectations and vision.TLDR: TMC is a group of professionals who create beautiful work, are communicative, provide nonstop, sincere customer care, and are worth every penny and more.

Taylor Made Construction replaced our 30 year old deck in August/September 2023. The quality of the work and the responsiveness of all involved was exceptional. My greatest disappointment was that despite our readiness to start, the job didn't begin until much later cutting short the amount of time we were able to use our deck. We started discussions in March 2023; they didn't start until August 2023. The job ran significantly over the bid they quoted and there was a huge disparity in the way their contract was written and reasonableness. For example, they requested $1000.00 to get started; later $3500.00 for drawings; (of which a fee was added on top of the $3500.00). Near the completion of the job, when we received billings that were not reconciling, we discovered that we were not given credit for the drawings+ fee and told that this was outside of the bid.They required 35% of the bid to start and a few weeks thereafter a 50% progress payment. At which time they were still taking down and framing the new deck. The new framing was less than 1/4 of a way done. They were a long way from 50% of the work. A point that was later clarified, they wanted 50% of the original bid - not the remaining dollars due on the contract. This meant they wanted 85% of the (total) bid and only a small percentage of the work had been done. In additional, we had a lot of lumber remaining as the job concluded - which I assumed was our lumber. They started sending workers (that I never met) to the job site early in the morning to pick up lumber and any supplies; this after their workers had loaded large pieces of scrapes earlier, from the job. I called my contact and wrote a letter; long story short, they stated that I could purchase the lumber (I already paid for) back from them! They claimed that they purchased extra lumber along the way. When I asked for invoices on what was purchased, they stated that they don't disclose their costs to customers - which is not what I requested. In addition, early in the process we asked where the lumber would be purchased because we wanted lumber from BERCO and were told that was the supplier they used. Later I received a (pre) lien from a supplier in Rancho Cordova stating that the lumber came from their business. I was really disappointed with the excessive notches in the wood (after several pieces were installed) and they had to replace them. Before I signed the contact I showed Taylor Made a picture of what I wanted and expected; so I don't understand the confusion regarding the quality of wood. Also, when the wood was delivered it was in bundles and I did not see it until it was installed. Unfortunately, despite, everyone, (at Taylor Made) being very nice, this project is not a do-again relationship. Sad, because I have future projects and again, the structure (looking past the wood) is beautiful.

In July, TMC completed their fourth project at my house. The projects have been exterior (replace balcony, replace doors and windows and make the East facing exterior watertight) and interior (re-tile the kitchen floor, install 4x12 joists to level the living/dining room floors). I bought the house 3 years ago, well aware of the work to be done.In each project, I've been impressed with TMC's courtesy, professionalism and skill, especially their response unplanned issues arose. For the exterior project, we ran into dry-rot issues three times. In each case, they quickly turn-around an incremental work-order. I needed a wood awning that I installed incorrectly, removed, siding repair work and dry rot repair done on my house and garage. I called Steve Riley who owns Taylor Made Construction and has done work for me in the past that I was very happy with and he agreed to take my repair work job. He now has multiple crews working for him and he sent the crew run by Tyler for my job and I was very pleased with Tyler, who along with his father and two helpers, finished my job in one long day. Tyler listened to all of my concerns and took care of every last one of them. First off, I would like to thank Stephen, Kevin and the rest of the staff at Taylormade Construction. They made my life a breeze during the renovation. Knowing that I have kids, they worked with my kids nap times and were able to keep noise to a minimum while REPAIRING A BATHROOM!!! I felt terrible asking for such a ridiculous request, but there was not a request that was too hard for them to fulfill.Communication was such an easy task. I was concerned because you hear stories of horrible contractors, they arrived everyday at the same time and were completely professional. Kevin was extremely helpful and was able educate me on how certain things worked. Stephen told me the proper way to get things done at an affordable price but would also add value in my home. The right products to use that were tried and trued, products that will work great and keep my remodel long lasting and affordable.I was excited to write this review. Spending a large amount of money can be stressful, especially if you’re not comfortable with the contractor. I felt good about these guys and it was for good reason. Late last year we got screwed over by some shady contractors. We called Steve and his crew at TaylorMade to clean up their mess, and it was the best decision we ever made. They gave an honest evaluation of the shoddy work done and held our hands every step of the way through the knock down and rebuild of our deck. We just had them repair the drywall in our bathroom and run an exhaust fan, and it turned out flawless. Texture is matched almost perfectly. Steve, Rachel, and the crew are always a pleasure to work. Had Taylor Made Construction Replace my back deck, front steps, and pour a pad for my hot tub. Kevin and team were great this was quite a job, they were always on time, and kept us up to date with the progress. The even put in a temp ramp so my dogs could get in during the demo. Great job by the folks at Taylor-Made Construction. I had a job of addressing dry rot, replacing decking, and some exterior improvements. Kevin scoped the job, and gave recommendations of some issues I didn't have a good idea of how to address, so I apprecated the expertise. Andrew as the project manager was an excellent communicator, and proactively let me know what to expect. Brandon and his team performed the work, and it was excellent quality. Overall a good experience; good to work with, good communication, the work was done in a timely way and with great quality, and the couple of exceptions / change orders were handled well. I am pleased with the experience and the results. Great job!

After buying our first home, my wife and I went through our house making a list of what we may want to renovate. Our closet was old fashioned Jack and Jill doors with 1 single closet. We used Taylor Made construction through personal referrals and there outstanding local reputation. Kevin was awesome quick, precise, careful, and thoughtful on knocking down that closet wall and door removal. All in 1 day!! They made sure our structural integrity was up to code and safe for our family. We just completed a kitchen renovation, pretty much a home renovation besides the bathrooms and let me just say, I can't express the quality and service Taylor Made construction has provided. I searched endlessly for contractor's when debating such an endeavor and I found the most consistent reviews through nextdoor app was Taylor Made. From start to finish Steve and his crew has made this experience wonderful and exceeded expectations beyond my wildest dreams. Rachel, Steve's assistant, made communication easy and was always responsive. I truly can't say enough about Taylor Made Construction. I would hands down recommend them for any project. They did flooring through our whole house, installed cabinets, replaced/resized and trimmed out windows, installed lights, resized a slider, made our island taller for our comfort, installed a grate in our driveway and many more items! We would have done more if we could! We always felt comfortable with every single person in their crew from Kevin, Mikey, Ivan, Dean, James, Jose, Jim and many more! They were prompt, polite, professional and their work stellar. If you are considering hiring a construction company, your expectations would be exceeded and experience wonderful with TMC. Steve and his crew are reliable, on time and do excellent work. Excellent communication, which I know is an issue with many company's. No surprises. We had 3 exterior doors replaced by TMC. Steve came out and estimated the job and saw we were residing the house. He offered valuable advice as he looked over the work. Rachel did the scheduling and was responsive to our schedule. Mikey and Juan came out on time when the day arrived and replaced our 3 exterior doors in one day. My last foray into this arena took 3 days to install one door by myself! The workers were responsive when I checked the front door hardware and the dead bolt did not work, Mikey gladly fixed it. He and Juan were patient with me as I checked everything out. The cost of the install was very reasonable and we look forward to using them again in our next remodeling project. Thank you TMC.

Used Taylor Made to repair my spare bathroom (Dry wall, paint, and flooring) which suffered from water damage due to a leak from pipes behind the wall. Taylor Made helped us fight the insurance company, which at first, was trying to not cover the damages claiming it was a slow leak. With Taylor Made's work, they were able to provide enough evidence to force the company to pay for damages saving us a ton of money.Additionally, there were some issues with the final portion of the job (I get it, were human and things can happen), but what was most impressive was how quickly Taylor Made acted upon presenting them with the insufficient work. They sent another crew the very next day the redo some of the work until it was perfect. Very honest, and timely work!
