A-1 Roofing cost us in excess of $3000 after our roof tile was cleaned and the worker sealed one of the roof vents for our heater. It took 3 HVAC contractors to figure out what the problem was and over $3000 to try and fix what they thought was causing our heater issues; new ducting, etc.Background: Our neighbor was having their entire roof re-done, cleaned and sealed by A-1. On the second to the last day on the job I asked the guy, who seemed to be the supervisor that day, how much they would charge to clean and seal our roof. Thinking since they had the crew and equipment already there it might be less than a standalone job. He quoted and price and said he could do it the next day, Sunday, as they wrapped up my neighbor's roof. I did not get a written contract but trusted his word.Sunday came and the same crew showed up and one of the crew members was dedicated to our roof. When he finished the job the supervisor asked for payment and we gave him a check made out to the name he provided. (I later found out this was not the owner's name)Fast forward 5 months later after huge problems with our furnace and the HVAC company determining the vent had been sealed when it absolutely shouldn't have been and spending over $3k. I called A-1 and asked for some sort of compensation for the money we had to spend; for example the amount they charged us to clean the roof. Albert, the owner of A-1 told me they didn't owe me anything because the guy who did the job, the 'supervisor' had gone rogue and pocketed the money. He told me because I didn't have a contract he owed me nothing and there was nothing I could do about it. He also claimed he fired the 'supervisor' when he found out about it and after showing him the photo of the worker who did the cleaning claimed it was not one of his crew.While it's true I didn't have a contract the same people who were working on my neighbors roof, same equipment, same truck, same everything worked on mine. Yes, I made a mistake trusting that A-1 must have reputable workers who wouldn't do a side job in plain view of the entire crew; so obviously others were involved...or A-1 knew about this.Here's the interesting part. I just received this email from A-1 asking me to review the work they did? Why would I get a request to review work they didn't do and had no fees from? Hmmmm...Think twice, or three times before you use this company. Even if it is true Albert had no knowledge of what his supervisor did, he should have made some sort of gesture to refund part or all of our roof fee. They are his crew/employees and he is responsible for them when on site representing his company.Service: Roof repair

Underlayment replaced on original 33 year old red tile roof. The repair job was better than the original roof (added drip edge, double layer 40# felt, O'Hagan vents and replaced broken tiles.) The job was started with laborers that were not skilled. When this was brought to Albert's attention, the problem was resolved. I recommend this company as a good value.Service: Roof repair

They did an installation on a roof where we were having new air conditioning units put on and we were also having solar panels installed. What I like about this outfit is that they work very well with all of the other people that we were doing the work with. Not so easy to do sometimes and their prices were fair so I would recommend them.
