We are in process of buying our first home and hired Dils Roofing to help us with our roof inspection and wow - we are so impressed! As first time home buyers, this process has been overwhelming but they walked us through every part of the process and made us feel included and answered all of our questions! Their knowledge is extensive and they were very professional and timely as they were able to inspect the roof and provide us with an extensive report with quality pictures within 24 hours. When we had follow up questions, they made everything easy to understand and offered the best prices for the work. They also educated us on solar should we choose to do that in the future. Dil’s installed our roof for solar panels when we did an addition to our house about 12 years ago. The solar installers had the wrong standoffs so they corrected an error in a timely manner. During the work, it rained heavily before we were water tight. Early that morning the crew called and came to inspect. There was a leak but it was from stucco work. However they wanted to take the opportunity to check their work against the elements proactively. Every couple of years we call for an inspection and repair to insure our roof is sound. We believe strongly in preventive maintenance. They work with our calendar and explain all their recommendations in detail and offer options. We’re very pleased with their responsiveness, professional demeanor, and in-line prices. GREAT QUALITY WORK - EVERYTHING ELSE VERY POORStarting with the positives, they do great work paying attention to detail. They replaced a lot of bad wood we had from dry rot and termite damage. Replaced a lot of broken tiles and ultimately giving us a good roof we feel confident it will last us 35 plus years. They also cleaned up all around the house each day before leaving with the exception of the very last day when their electrical guy was here finishing reconnecting our solar system.The problems that contributed only giving them two stars are multiple frustrating issues from the start to the end of the process getting our good quality roof.1. Our house is a two story house with almost 1900 square feet. So the roof structure isn't that massive. Our salesperson Chris said at the start the project shouldn't take more than 1-1/2 weeks to finish with normally four guys each day assigned to projects this size. The project took 3 weeks and one day. The project would have taken even longer if my wife and I didn't start pressuring them after 2 weeks.2. Most days the crew consisted of only two guys. There were only four or more guys on a total of four days during the whole project. Called the Operations Manager Armando during the project on many days that he only had two guys working and the answer was always the same, that guys called in sick and one guy was consistantly having car problems and not able to come to work.3. The guys were supposed to start each day around 8am, but most days they didn't show up until 8:20am and get started around 8:30am. They all would take 1-1/2 hour lunches. Start cleaning up at 4:30pm and leave for the day at 5pm. Fridays they only worked half days and left at 12:30pm. This adds up to only 32 hour weeks.I called Ryan the General Manager/Owner expressing my above concerns. Ryan was appreciative of me sharing my concerns and stated that they aren't known to be the quickest roofing company but they are a high quality in workmanship roofing company and assured me when it is done that I will have a roof that will last 35 plus years.4. In the process of reinstalling and connecting my solar system, they discovered they had damaged some connecting parts that must have happened when they removed the system. Thankfully, all the solar panels were okay. This was on a Friday and I called the Operations Manager Armando to find out what he was going to do since the solar people left for the day. I mentioned I wanted it finished by Monday. Come Monday no one showed up. Called Armando again and he gave me the impression he completely forgot our conversation last Friday and thought everything was done. He said he would call his solar guy and get back with me. He called later and said he would not be out until Thursday and arrive around 9am. I wasn't happy because this added to more days without generating electricity. Come Thursday, no solar guy by 9:20am. I called Armando again. He said he had to call his guy and get back with me. Armando called back and said his guy got delayed at the supplier warehouse and will be at our house around 10am to 10:30am. He didn't arrive until about 12 noon. He finished around 3pm with installing the last solar panel and all the connections. I got on the roof a few days later and discovered old electrical boxes, connecters, cut wires, and a general mess left on the roof by the solar guy. Definitely not acceptable, but decided to clean it up myself because I didn't want to have to deal with someone to come back and wanted to be just done with it and move on.So, as a result, I do feel I have a good quality new roof. However, experienced a lot of frustrations that the whole project took much longer than it should have. There are hundreds of roofing companies out there and I'm sure can provide the same quality roof, but Dils would not be my recommendation.

Finally! A roofing company who didn't try and sell me something I didn't need!! I am the HOA board president for my complex 3 story townhomes, 8 units in whole. We had the entire complex termite tented a while back and the buildings were too tall for the termite company to take on the repairs. Every roofing company that came out said we needed a new roof. Some just looked from the ground and at the termite report others flew a drone over. The complex was constructed in 2008. So, I found it hard to believe a new roof was necessary.Chris Gallardo and his team came out and got on the roof to give an honest assessment, like I asked. As I suspected, a new roof was not needed. He did suggest some repairs that will prolong the life of our roof for another 10 -15 years at a fraction of the cost of a new roof.Be careful when you are choosing a roofing company. If you want an honest assessment give Chris and DILS roofing a call.

Our old commercial building ,circa 1952, had been re roofed before but was in need of attention due to leaks in three areas. Most roofing companies would likely have declined to repair it due to its age. Hayden, from Dils Roofing, was very flexible and willing to listen to why we only needed a repair. The work was done on the scheduled dates and performed professionally. There was no interference with my business during the repair process. No debris was left behind. My inspection of the roof afterward, revealed the repair had been done exactly as stated in the contract. We just bought a house and hired Dils Roofing to inspect the roof. They were very thorough and super nice when they answered our many questions regarding roof repairs, roof replacement timeline, and benefits of installing solar when our roof needs to be repaired. The inspection report was sent to us within a day and all the photos they included were super helpful! Their price for roof repairs was the best we saw and will be hiring them again to come out and seal things up for the next few years before the roof needs to be replaced. My solar salesman, Chris Gallardo, went above and beyond in trying to get the City of Vista to approve my solar project. Unfortunately, without blueprints the City required drilling holes in the roof to expose rafters, which would have voided the warranty on any future roof leaks. He was fast but thorough and identified a challenge that had to be dealt with. He also immediately proposed an inexpensive solution and followed up within 20 minutes to discuss. With all of the rain last winter it has been hard to find a roofer to do a roof repair rather than a roof replacement. Add to that the need to remove and replace solar panels ... one company wanted $16K just for that!Dils handled it. They were much more reasonably priced and did a great job. A Dils team repaired our roof leak and replaced some rain-damaged wood beneath the tile over the course of a week. We hardly knew they were here except for occasional hammering. Dil’s price was reasonable. Viewing the repaired roof area from across the street, there is no indication they were ever here. The repaired area blends in perfectly with the original tile. Upon their departure, the team left their work area on the ground cleaner than our gardener usually does. I hired Dils Roofing to perform a 2nd roof inspection on my home in San Marcos, CA when I made an offer on the property in Q1 2022. The home was built in 1990 and the roof clearly showed wear. I was impressed by the comprehensiveness and the thoroughness of the report compiled for me - it contained numerous pictures and explanations of what was observed. The roof inspection report provided a clear picture of the quality of the roof, the roof's remaining life and the likely investment required to repair the roof if I purchased the house. This report was a significant factor for helping me decide whether or not to make an offer on the house.After purchasing the home in February, I decided to have Dils perform the roof repair in July and I'm so glad I did. Removing the tiled roof revealed water damage to the eaves that was not apparent during the visual inspection. Dils Roofing advised me during the inspection that this was a strong possibility given the age of the roof - so this was not a surprise. Dils Roofing kept me informed of the specific damage as it was discovered and discussed with me options and pricing for repairs. The roofing team did a phenomenal job in repairing all the damaged wood, relayed the concrete tile onto the roof - including replacing any broken tiles. Although not required, I chose to replace all the fascia boards on the home so as to have new lumber and to allow for proper placement of rain gutters. Dils was even able to accommodate my additional request to install dormer vents on the roof mid-project. Josh, Armando, and the onsite team were incredible to work with.
