We had a great experience with Matt and Detailed Building Solutions. Matt and his team added a bedroom and bathroom in our unfinished basement space and installed new floors and windows throughout our basement in Summer 2023. Matt was excellent at discussing our options with us, helping us optimize the space for our family, and working with us on deadline. We stayed on budget and schedule. They did high-quality and beautiful work that has held up great. We would definitely work with Matt again on future contracting needs. We love our basement space now and spend so much time there now, so thanks Matt and team!

Matt completed a full basement renovation for us, and we could not be happier! He was willing and able to do whatever was necessary to make our vision happen, and he took it beyond what we could have pictured. Exceeded expectations in every way. What was a mostly unused basement now has a home theater, wet bar, office, bedroom, full bathroom, and storage. Matt recently completed a complete kitchen remodel in our Fort Collins home. His work is impeccable down to the last detail. We used a designer (recommended by Matt), IKEA contractors, and Matt's subcontractors (electrical and plumbing). He stayed in good communication with us every step of the process. He left the workspace incredibly clean at the end of each day. He listened to any concerns we had and thoroughly answered our questions. Matt is professional from start to finish. Matt did a total remodel on our master bathroom which is open to our bedroom. He did an amazing job at minimizing dust and cleaning up every single day. I have worked with a lot of contractors, and I do not think that I've ever worked with one that is as caring and easy to work with as Matt. He answered all my questions and patiently coached me through preparing for the renovation on my basement. Had great communication and kept me updated, always picked up the phone and went way above and beyond and helping with some of the other issues around the house, even though that's not what he was there for. I would work with him again in a second and highly recommend him.

We have a 120 year old home near Old Town and needed to add a ground floor bedroom and bath so we could age in place. We loved working with Matt! He did tilling, counters, beautiful custom shelving and cabinet installation for our laundry room. He was detailed and patient with our design plans and we can't wait to work with him again in the future! Matt installed several hundred square feet of laminate wood flooring in our home, tore down a dividing wall and refinished the mess. The installation and attention to detail is just stunning. We hired Matt as our General Contractor for our recently completed 500 square foot "tiny home" addition on our house, which is featured on his website. From start to finish, Matt was detailed, responsive, and extremely reliable. He was also very professional and easy to communicate with. The renovations that Matt and crew did on my house were extensive. I live in an old house in Old Town and the changes began because I needed to be able to get into the partial basement with reduced danger. Absolutely nothing about the house was regular or predictable, and being an old house, nothing was much was square or level. In addition, to do almost anything, something else had to be modified or moved first. What seemed pretty straight forward was always rather difficult to execute. Matt is very concerned about detail, and I appreciate that very much. To the extent possible, everything is square, level, and lined up. We communicated about the process from the beginning. In addition, he is as concerned about me, the home owner, as if it were his house. The end result is beautiful. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

DBS was the general contractor on our basement finish project. We had 890 sqft finished to include a full bath, bedroom, mechanical room, under-stair storage, and a family room complete with a wet bar. Solid craftsmanship throughout the project to include the subs for plumbing, electrical, and drywall. DBS keeps a clean work area, was on-time and attentive, and truly cared about our project. A number of homes in our neighborhood were doing basement finishes this summer and our project finished weeks-to-months sooner. Cost-to-craftsmanship ratio is superb. Highly recommend DBS.
