Brad and his crew have done several projects on our two Utah mountain vacation rentals including a full log restoration, deck reinforcement, and ridge beam restoration. The workmanship is excellent and perhaps even more impressive is the attention to detail, friendly staff, and exquisite cleanliness. I have grown to expect a major cleanup after contractors leave. Not these guys- they left the place cleaner than before they started! I highly recommend this company.

Looking for pros to repair any kind of damage to your log home or building? Look no further. These guys are the best! I sent photos to Brad and told him it would not make it through another winter and he promptly sent Austin and Chris to fix this 1920 building for us.They took this failing structure and in 2 days completely renovated it! It was fascinating to see them work.On top of all that, Brad kept in touch better than any contractor I have ever worked with .Highest recommendations to this company and their expertise!Mixed before and after photos below. Brad, the owner, is a man of his word. He and his team delivered a great media blast and multiple coat stain of our 6000 foot log cabin. Brad takes great pride in his work, and he is an excellent communicator. He promptly returned any text or phone call that I sent him. Dillion and the crew did a fantastic job on site at a high elevation (with high winds daily). Great follow up and cleanup. I would highly recommend Pensil Contracting!!! They are the real deal.

Brad and his crew did an amazing job sand blasting, re-staining, staining my deck and restoring some log ends that had water and sun damage. Going into the project, I wasn't sure how much damage there was going to be and to my surprise, my logs were healthy! We cut the log ends to make sure they stayed under the roof to prevent further water damage in the future, treated the ends with product to protect them and apoxy the ones that needed it. I love my new healthy looking cabin and would definitely recommend Brad to anyone else considering getting their cabin fixed up.

Brad and his crew did an exceptional job refinishing our badly damaged exterior log cabin. The previous owner did not perform the proper needed maintenance and we had extremely damaged black, sunburned logs. All of our neighbors have come by to compliment us on how beautiful the house looks! (and to get Brad's contact information for their own houses).Here is what sets Brad and his team apart:1. They stick to the budget. This was key for me and we had several unanticipated barriers with the project. Brad gave me choices to keep the project within what I could afford.2. Reliable with open communication. Brad keeps in touch on the schedule (a rare thing near Telluride where I'm a small fish in the pond, and contractors drop the small fish when more money is on the hook). Brad is on-site regularly to review the work, get input, and hear feedback.3. Extremely hard working and very considerate. The guys worked their tails off from the minute they arrive to when they wrapped up late in the day. Couldn’t be happier with Pencil! They worked through below freezing temperatures and kept our log cabin remodel on track. Pencil used the logs I’d ordered from the sawmill to replace the rotten ones that were beyond repair but I was amazed by the logs they were able to save. Our 80 year old cabin looked brand new after they were done sanding, staining, and chinking. I tried some rechinking as well and was amazed how difficult it is. Pencil made it look easy! Great experience working with both management and the crew that came out to help and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Brad and his crew did an awesome job restoring our log home in Paonia. The logs were pretty neglected. We bought the home last spring, he drove out while we were under contract, fitting us into his busy schedule, and gave us the confidence we needed to go through with the purchase of the home. And then, PENSIL contracting brought the logs back to life. There was a lot of water damaged on the logs which he tended to and now we can have some peace of mind. He was super responsive, showed up when he said he would, and let me deliberate on stain color for a bit without showing any frustration. ha!We chose the chestnut stain and so happy we did!

Our log house was in need of some repair, and a small remodeling project, and we were very happy with the bid from PENSIL. We are even happier with the quality of work from Donnie, Brad, and their crew. Nothing stopped them, not even the loss of their log supplier! I would highly recommend Brad Siler and Pensil Contracting if you need your cabin stained. They waited during a rainy period to make sure that they would get a good coat of stain on. They keep me informed on what was going on at every step of the way and they did a wonderful job of masking door windows, lights, fans, etc. The end result was that my cabin now looks awesome. We had contacted two other contractors to install our cabinets, double oven, cook top and vent hood. Both had many excuses to put us off. We contacted PENSIL and they were out the next day.
