Enjoyed an overnight stay during the week. We were able to use the pool and caves on both of the days and the experience was relaxing and invigorating. The tropical plants give a special atmosphere to the mineral pool and the caves are an awesome experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room in the Lodge was very comfortable and clean. We will be back again!

This place is the Walmart of hot springs. Stop giving this horrible place your money!!Aside from terrible customer service and lack of cleanliness…The large pool is pretty much a crowded cesspool at all times. Not only that, but I would not consider it a hot spring by any means. The water is barely lukewarm. You’ll find yourself shivering after 10 minutes. If that isn’t torture enough, you’ll get random cold water droplets dropped onto your face or head from the greenhouse ceiling above. The place is dirty, and old. They now have time slots which is the most ridiculous thing, especially for the caves. The water in the caves is usually way too hot, unbearably hot. The caves also usually stink. The changing room is dirty, along with everything else. The private baths are like prison cells with water that’s not very deep but way too hot. Also dirty. The private hot tub had a thick film of grime inside of it. They also turn the jets off in the winter. Why? I don’t know. But it’s stupid to say the least.Overall, the people that own/manage this place deserve nothing. Poorly taken care of, terrible customer service, crazy high prices, and uncomfortable water temperatures.

Really was expecting more but it is what it is. Wanted a private room just to relax and be away from people, so we did get a private pool, which smelt like chlorine. The water was really hot, felt good but you couldn't stay in it too long. A good 5 to 10 minute soak, then just out for a cool shower to cool off before getting back in. I walked through the caves and they looked really cool. Will definitely try that next time. They also have a gift shop with a good selection of Colorado souvenirs.

Went here for the first time over the weekend. Decided to make a reservation for a private tub to just chill without people. The front desk people were very very nice. We were early and waited in a really cute sunroom. But then we went to the private bath… in a creepy basement. This could be a set for a horror film with absolutely no changes…. It’s already hot as hell in the little room with zero ventilation except a large pipe shoved into a ragged hole in the ceiling. The water temp was nice and hot but because the room temp is 10 million degrees we could only stand to stay in the water for 10 minutes. Showered to cool off and left. I thought hot springs might have some relaxing ambiance. No. Only murder ambiance.

We were stranded on 1-70 during the most recent snowpocalypse. We slept in our car outside the Circle K in Idaho Springs the first night. The next morning we started calling hotels for the following night since the highway was still shut down. We kept getting no vacancy until we finally found a room at Indian Springs. They were WONDERFUL! They let us check in at 9AM, which after “sleeping” in our car all night in a snow storm with our four children was an absolute God send. The pool was an awesome perk. Like a giant hot tub. Even more impressive to me were the incredible plants. It was like a tropical paradise oasis in the middle of a snow storm. Gave our kids something to be excited about in such a terrible situation. The rooms are a little dated, our queen beds I believe were placed on full mattresses so there was a little overhang which was a little bothersome, but overall Indian Springs was a life saver and so kind and accommodating and helpful. The pool is absolutely worth it. Also right down the road from the original Beau Jo’s, which is fun.

We have been coming to this hot springs for 5 years, and it's exciting to see the new upgrades that have been added lately.A dining hall with a lounge area is great, with a few games to keep the kids entertained. The plants in the main pool area are looking healthy, great job with the upkeep in the greenhouse.Nice improvements.Safety: During the snow season, the staff works hard at keeping the grounds open and plowed for everyone to walk, especially the walkways that we remember to use.

We went on a very snowy day and were told by the rude woman working the desk that the power was out so the water wouldn’t be as hot as usual. I asked what electricity had to do with a geothermal hot springs and got no response. We were allowed to go and check the pool out before we bought a pass which was nice. The water was warm enough plus we had driven all the way from Denver on very snowy roads so we decided to buy a pool pass for $20/person. I asked for a discount and when the rude lady asked the manager sitting 5ft away he said no which she then relayed to us. At first it wasn’t too crowded but as time moved on more and more people arrived and it got to the point where you really couldn’t avoid being right next to other people which is not ideal. We were there about 3hrs and during that time the water got cooler and cooler. Finally all of the electricity went out and we were in a dark pool with all of our new pool buddies. Some of us decided to wait it out but soon thereafter the staff came in lighting the way with their phones(apparently no one had a real flashlight), and told us all that we had to leave. We were given a rain check but the overall experience was not good. Maybe it’ll be better if I decide to go back and use the rain check. If so, I’ll adjust my rating and update my review.

I don't often write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience to prevent others from facing similar disappointments. If you're considering staying at this location, please read my review carefully.I visited during spring break and was immediately taken aback by their pricing strategy. Unlike other places where amenities are bundled into a single reasonable price, here, everything is charged separately. For instance, access to the main pool, outdoor tubs, and the Cave during weekends and holidays incurs separate charges, which can add up quickly for travelers.I opted for a Cave ticket, which cost $40 plus tax—a price I found to be exorbitant compared to other local expenses; for example, a family dinner at Smokin Yard's BBQ nearby was only $55, and a night at a well-regarded local hotel was about $100. Additionally, they charged an extra $5 just for a towel. The service was also subpar. The Cave lacked basic amenities like locker rooms, forcing me to store my belongings in my car and only carry my car key. When I asked the hotel front desk if I could leave my key for safekeeping, they refused, which is unusual as most hotels at least offer temporary storage for guests' items. The Cave itself was disappointing: small, narrow, and with only three pools that lacked any signage indicating water temperatures, which were dangerously high. I found it unsafe, especially since one pool was too hot to even dip a foot into.Overall, I believe the high prices are unjustified, riding on the fame of the site's historical significance rather than the quality of service and facilities provided. I do not recommend visiting this hot spring, and I observed that the hotel premises seemed overpriced as well. There are several other hotels in the area that likely offer better value for your money.

The new timed structure for the caves has ruined the whole experience. As a local, I used to look forward to coming to Indian Hot Springs a couple times a week throughout the year. I loved the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the caves. In a world that seems to always be in a hurry, I could count on the caves to be a place free from electronics and take things on my time. The new time structure absolutely ruins what made the caves special. Now you are limited to a strict 60 minute time slot with everyone else. This made for a hectic experience when everyone rushes into the change room at once trying to make the most of their allotted time. Then you have to keep an eye on the clock before you are abruptly ushered out by housekeeping. They say that this new structure (and price increase) is to accommodate the “busy season,” but I disagree, I’ve been coming to the springs for years and never felt the caves were overcrowded. So long as this structure exists, I will not be returning to Indian Hot Springs. It simply isn’t worth it.FYI: there are many affordable alternatives to Indian Hot Springs such many gyms and spas have unlimited access to saunas and steam rooms for a fraction of the price. Additionally they sell economical sauna rooms and tents off the internet.I want to go back to Indian but until this policy changes this review is here to stay as a warning to others.

Not sure why this place doesn't have a higher rating? The affordability and quality are equally as great! My family and I really enjoyed this place. Gorgeous plants everywhere!! The springs pool had more children of course, so if you are looking for a child free zone I'd recommend only booking the cave area. Super quiet and relaxing down there.Side note** If you happen to have a larger body and are hesitant about going to a hot springs or spa. Then I definitely suggest coming here, very size inclusive place and judgment free staff.

Private baths were very very dated. Most of the place was very dated. Pool was cool with all the plants. It was busier than I expected. No locks for lockers. Be prepared. Private bath was VERY hot. We originally went for the hot springs in the caves but they are defeated by sexes so my girlfriend and I couldn't go together. That was weird. Kind of ruined the whole side trip to visit it.

They've been making improvements. The mats to the main pool, although for safety, are the most uncomfortable almost painful things to walk on. I would literally prefer to walk on broken glass. The follage is always well taken care of and beautiful.

I love this place, been visiting here 2 or 3 times a year on my cross country road trips for 5 years now. just drove 2,000 miles from Boston Mass to Denver they would not let me in for the quick last 20 minutes of the night. Yes I'm disgruntled. They used to be open later and even still theyd you.

Used to absolutely love and look forward to my visits here. It was a monthly routine to get a room, soak in the caves, buy some jewelry or a new soaking robe at the little shop, and go home rejuvenated. New ownership has ruined the experience and made it just another tourist trap. Even if you stay at the resort, you only get 2 hours soak time in the caves for your whole day, which is absolutely not worth it. The higher prices were bad enough before they ruined the experience of relaxation and peace. Now they want you to pay through the nose for a fraction of the experience I've come to expect here. You can't even relax because you have to spend your whole visit watching the clock.Save your money. Stay at the casinos in Black Hawk or Central City, and road trip up to Mt Princeton or Glenwood. You'll be more relaxed.

My experience at the hot springs caves over the past two years has been mixed since the change in management. On the positive side, they've invested in significant upgrades to the locker rooms, which are greatly improved. However, the recent implementation of time slots for cave visits has been disappointing. Guests are now limited to one hour, with no flexibility to extend, unless you pay another full price admission. This policy took effect abruptly on 3/1 without prior notice, which was quite surprising. When I reached out to inquire about the new policy, the front desk attendant, whom I've seen regularly, seemed annoyed about the new policy herself. She directed me to a manager I hadn't encountered before, who was working on her laptop behind the desk. The manager explained that the hourly slots are for the health and safety of guests, ensuring regular cleaning of the facilities. However, during my visit, I noticed a floating bandaid in one of the pools and standing water in the locker areas, which raised doubts about the effectiveness of their cleaning procedures.Furthermore, the issue of thefts in the woman's locker room is a serious concern. When my belongings were stolen last November, the local police informed me that such incidents are unfortunately common here, with multiple reports weekly. This lack of security and management's apparent focus on the wrong priorities is disheartening. In conclusion, while the upgraded locker rooms are a positive change, the new time slot policy, cleanliness concerns, and recurring thefts indicate that the management needs to reassess their priorities and improve customer service and safety measures

The general pool is way too cold to be a hot springs. On top of that the heaters were off in the building soIt wasn’t warm at all.All of the people in the pool are gathered in one area just to warm up and take turns. This pool wasn’t always like that I remember when the temperature was very comfortable and nice the pool seemed cleaner as well. The front office admins are rude and obnoxious 👎🏻Won’t be coming back

I had always like these hot springs but today I was very disappointed. We went to go do caves and pool. Caves were closed for men. Ok we understood. We did private baths. It states to go with the front desk if there was a problem. I did. The temperature was very cold, these are supposed to be hot hot. To be honest the pool was warmer than the bath! They said they had an outage so they weren't as warm. They offered another times but to be honest I had a schedule. That's the point of picking a set hour for your bath. They said they would send a maintenance person. They never showed up. I'm very upset with this. I wasted my time and money. I spent 30 min waiting for the person to show up. I told the front desk about it. They said oh I'm sorry, they didn't knock? No they didn't. Those baths you can even hear the person next to you speaking so no I didn't miss it. They said im sorry I'll tell the manager. They did not offer partial refund or a certificate for another visit.I settled for the temp I had sadly. Very disappointed about the visit. I asked for child care and time off from work for this.

Ted and Virginia and the rest of the crew at the front desk are amazing. Great vibes. By far the best hot springs in Colorado. Historic building, beautiful greenery, wonderful convenient location. My favorite staycation spot. And absolute must visit.

If I could rate 0 stars I 100% would. To start off our room was not ideal, very run down a dirty, and holes in the walls etc.we paid for a private bath and that was absolutely disgusting, it was definitely questionable. The shower to rinse off was even worse. We didn’t even rinse off cause it was THAT bad.Not to mention the electricity was shut off due to high winds so our room was freezing and with no hot water also with no compensation which was very disappointing considering the experience and how expensive everything was for a very low quality an dirty place. I would never recommend coming here

Stayed at the “Resort”. It was a cool old building, but the bed was hard as a rock, the heat in the rooms was very finicky, and there was a lot of hallways noise.Reservations only get you access to the main pool and the caves. The main pool was maybe a little warmer than a standard pool and rather disappointing. Read the fine print carefully and you’ll see the caves are segregated by gender, so if you are going with someone of the opposite gender they aren’t very fun since you have to go to separate pools. They have private pools & hot tubs you can use together, but they will charge you per person to rent one.Didn’t try the onsite restaurant, so can’t speak to that.Staff was friendly whenever we interacted with them.Very convenient to walk to downtown Idaho Springs, which was fun.Overall, it wasn’t bad, but I felt like they were nickel and dimming us.Rooms: Very old. Steam heat. Hard beds. Thin walls. Small.

We stayed the night in a suite. The room was clean but super dated. If you go in with your expectations lowered it's honestly fine. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quite at night. We went on a Thursday night though during the school year so that might have helped. We got a private bath and a Jacuzzi while there. Both very relaxing and felt amazing. The main pool was warm and really pretty with the plants. We went to the pool near closing time so it wasn't crowded. Overall a really nice relaxing time. Town is just down the road with lots of great food options and cute stores.Rooms: Very dated, but comfortable. Had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker. There was a full bathroom and a comfortable bed. Two TVs with cable.Nearby activities: Town is just down the road with several restaurants and stores to shop at.Safety: Every reserved area has locks and is very private.Walkability: Not very walkable in the winterFood & drinks: There were vending machines and snacks for purchase in the gift shop

We went to the Indian Springs tonight as a relaxing evening getaway for my birthday, and it was anything but. We got the pool + caves pass and dropped $90 to be there for a few hours and enjoy.I wanna start this with that I have been coming here for years and have always had a great experience. However, tonight was not that at all. I’m so disappointed.First of all, the pool was packed, which is fine. It’s a Sunday evening. But there were so many kids treating it as a play pool that we became so annoyed with the constant screaming and having kids repeatedly cannonballing right next to us, that we had retreated to the caves. On my way out of the pool, my breast was groped by an 11-13 year old kid. So. Beyond. Done.Went to the caves to spend the rest of our time, an hour in we were greeted to police coming in and out of the cave and being alerted by a staff member that they were searching for a woman who had been busting locks off of lockers and stealing. I had finally officially had it, and my partner and I left early for fear of our things being stolen because they had been searching and couldn’t find this person. Went back to our locker to see a couple busted ones next to ours. Thankfully our things weren’t stolen, but to know all of our stuff wasn’t safe in a locked locker was unsettling enough to go.I will not be back to this hot spring again which is so sad with it being one of my favorite places to go and right outside of Denver. They used to monitor the pool and discourage any roughhousing which I don’t know why that isn’t a thing anymore. I also wanna say that I understand the person stealing is out of their control, and I appreciate them alerting us to it but it’s still frustrating that it was happening in the first place on such a busy Sunday. $90 down the drain.

The pricing increase over the last month is ridiculous. I used to come and enjoy the caves about weekly. Lately the temperatures of the pools make it less than enjoyable. And then to increase from $26 in February to "premium pricing due to spring break" of $35 for the entire month of March was bad enough. But now that's your standard price?! It's insane gouging. And lastly, the punch card is only available for local residents? Why? You're going to lose your regular Denver area customers. You've lost my business and I'm guessing many more will follow.

Only ding the rooms because of a bad experience in the main building. All the other new renovations are amazing. Love the pool. Love going up there. Love the private caves. Love the mud baths! Everything is simply amazing up there. Highly recommend great trip , during the week for the private caves clothing optional and over the weekend. Of course clothing required in the private caves. Family friendly environment kiddie pool lots of plants growing in their atrium it is an indoor pool. There are private pot tubs outside attached to some of the units that you can rent for the night.Rooms: As described above. Ty rooms in the main unit usually aren't as good as the rooms across the street. Although you do get free pool usage for the day if you have a room.

It's just an okay hot springs it's the best in proximity to Denver. The water in the main pool isn't even all that hot. The prices just went up a bunch and it is no longer worth the price point for what it is.
