We had 6 highly rated deck builders come out for bids. Some didn't send back bids as promised, some said no permit was needed and some said our deck being secured to the house was fine. So, Ben Wood of Archadeck wasn't the cheapest but was by far the most honest and detailed in his bid. Our deck had a roof that had to be secured and code violations that Ben saw right away- rails too far apart, door frame too low, stairs too narrow and it was hanging off the house cantilever. He also insisted a permit was necessary and had experience in building fully screened in porches that few contractors do in Colorado. We worked with Ben W. to develop the plan, Ben C and Jeff were our project managers and Marcus and Aaron were our builders. Their attention to detail was incredible, our builders showed up every day in snow, high winds and extremely freezing weather. They answered every question this nervous home owner had and all was addressed in a timely manner. They take pride in their work and are truly skilled in their craft. Thank you doesn't begin to express how grateful we are for all of them! We'll be dedicating our new deck and area of relaxation to Archadeck when the sun shines!Thank you!

The planning process was fantastic. It's a bit of a hard sell, but I liked the level of detail I was able to plan. We built a trex deck (12 x 13) with 11 lighted stairs and a cedar pergola. We put the deposit down in feb. They started building in April (covid delayed it about 2 weeks). The big disappointments were (1) they wouldn't caulk around the door (they had to remove the board to put on the deck) (2) they wouldn't paint the few boards of the house so that it looked finished. After paying about $42,000, I didn't expect to have to have another contractor come out and do these small tasks. The finished product looks nice and the design is great.

Archadeck totally rebuilt our huge, wraparound deck, overcoming major structural issues, with improvements in design, materials and craftsmanship in every aspect. The design team made practical suggestions, acknowledging our cost limitations, while improving the outdoor livability, convenience and comfort of our space. Archadeck was extremely professional and did an awesome job designing and building a beautiful two-tiered pergola for us! We had spoken with other deck construction companies who had been a little unsure about how to design the specific pergola we wanted, but Katy did an amazing job coming up with two different designs for us, which allowed us to choose the one we liked best. They were very easy to communicate with from start to finish, and Jeff and his crew then did an amazing job building it (even with freezing weather and a snowstorm the week they were working), we are very pleased with the final result. We could not be more happy with our staycation deck!! We have already had our first party. This addition to our home was worth every penny! We bought a home that needed a lot of updates and we have worked with many different companies over the past five years. After receiving not-quite-half-baked bids from two other companies, we decided to go with Archadeck to replace our badly weathered existing deck. The difference was crystal clear from day one. Ben came to our house having considered every detail, and with an interactive scale drawing on his iPad that helped us visualize what the final product would look like. From that point forward, construction and finish are perfect, and exactly as promised at the outset. The quality of workmanship and attention to detail is impeccable, and we look forward to many years of hanging out in our new favorite space. For three years, we searched and interviewed contractors all along the Front Range to rebuild our deck. We wanted a deck that provided an entertaining space, a privacy area, and a gathering place for family. We also wanted that deck to have personality so that when your foot touched the surface, you felt welcomed. I can't say enough good things about this project! From start to finish the entire team was professional, organized, friendly, and efficient, and most importantly they built a beautiful top quality deck. They considered every detail and made sure we both understood what I wanted and what they were building. The deck itself is fantastic - solid, beautiful and aesthetically integrated into the existing house. The new roof extension over the main deck looks like it's always been part of the house, and the uncovered deck gets great morning sun and evening shade - perfect for summer dinners. We live adjacent to an open space path, and regularly get comments from folks on how nice the deck looks. We’ve just furnished the deck and it’s immediately apparent how this will become a central part of our ‘hanging out’ at home. And with the electric heaters and gas fire table, we’ll be able to enjoy it almost year round!

We had an unusual deck design. The deck was 30 years old and needed to be replaced. This led to an issue with design and rights of way. We had a boring, rectangular deck. Archadeck was able to come up with some ideas to not only increase the deck by about 1/3 the size, but stayed within our budget while still giving it a custom look. Best of all, communication was great and they completed the project on time. We especially appreciated them keeping the project “in-house “instead of subbing out the work. Overall:I highly recommend Archadeck of the Foothills. Ben (Owner/Design), Jeff (Project Manager), and Katy (Design) were amazing. I have been involved in many construction projects whether personal or through work. This was by far the best experience I have ever experienced. Their process is amazing start to finish. With the first meeting that included and estimate, to the second design meeting, to selecting materials, starting the project, and everything in between. My wife and I started with a vision of wanting a covered patio structure, but we had no idea on how to make it work. Ben very quickly proposed a solution that turned into a custom new patio cover that was tied into our existing roof. You would never know that it was an addition. And, then Jeff and his carpenters made the most beautiful custom covered patio with a cathedral ceiling and tongue and grove cedar boards; it is more than we ever expected. I have never seen so much pride taken on a project. After the patio cover was completed, came the new paver patio. They had to remove an existing concrete patio and then install the new patio paver with a new design. This was a different crew than the carpenters, and again we were amazed the the quality as well as the speed. They laid an entire new large patio in less than 4 days, Amazing!Communication:Communication was great through the entire process, Jeff was great to work with, and he really cares about the customer experience. He made a comment to me that they are in the customer service business that also builds gorgeous projects. I would agree they all really care about their customers.Punch list:There were a few items at the end that needed minor corrections, which is normal in all construction. The amount of items needing attention was very minimal, and the resolution was quick, and Jeff was always understanding and responsive. He wanted us to be happy with the project and to be able to enjoy it as soon as possible. Again in this regard, best experience ever.Extras:Our kids loved talking to the contractors and watching the project. I loved that the crew would talk to our kids and were so good with them. It is so important to be able to trust the people you hire on these types of projects; and that was always the case.Working with Archadeck of the Foothills was one of the best decisions we made. Update - August 2020, we decided to give Archadeck another try and hired them to built a pergola for us. We are very happy to have shade and spend more time outside. Our outdoor space also looks more complete and inviting. They installed our pergola on helical piles and high quality wood so we are confident it will be long-lasting even in Colorado’s shifting soils and weather.Spring 2017: As a potential customer I found their business practices and communication style to be strange.
