TLDR; Professional company with personal service. Terrific results. Agreed to take on my monster driveway at a reasonable price when competitors gave me their "I don't want this job" quote. A++.I contacted Asphalt Paving by GW in the spring with a request for a quote to repair/replace my driveway in June. Ramsey promptly returned my call and handled all of our correspondence personally throughout the job. Their quote came in lower than competitors for a greater amount of work. I was looking for advice on how to handle my cracked and crumbling 500 foot long driveway from hell as economically as possible. While other companies would only consider capping the driveway (which I thought perilous, given how it was collapsing), Ramsey went through all the reasons why it should be torn out, leveled, given a new gravel base and finally layered with new asphalt. I braced myself for the sticker shock, but was surprised that it came in significantly lower than the other quotes I received. We agreed on the work, penciled in a week for June when I would be away and then waited in anticipation.The week of the install the team got to work promptly. Ramsey kept me updated through texts and pics of their progress. They managed to knock out the entire job in only a day and a half! The results are great! It is very flat and smooth. It is also very professionally finished around the edges. And despite having heavy machinery all over the place, my yard is not any worse for the wear! Our driveway was just completed by Asphalt Paving by G.W. in October 2023 and it is beautiful!! George was strongly recommended by our general contractor, who has known and worked with him for many years. We were really pleased with this recommendation as George and his staff are truly excellent. George is eager to explain the process and answer all questions. His staff is clearly well trained and experienced. George was present throughout the entire process and he worked continuously as well as supervising and directing his staff. Asphalt Paving By GW recently completed a complete driveway overhaul at our home and it turned out absolutely FANTASTIC! From the start, George the owner was extremely prompt and came out on his Saturday off to look at the driveway and give us an estimate. Once we accepted his estimate, he had machines there within a few days preparing the old surface which was nothing more then a very old dilapidated dirt driveway. Within the first day, 90% of the old driveway was removed and prepped for the new base that needed to be installed. I even threw an electrical trench his way that i needed dug by the next day which he knocked out quickly. From start to finish George was upfront about everything he found with the old areas that were ripped up as well as drainage issues near a new garage that had been put up. He and his crew worked for about a week before any asphalt was put down to make sure that the ground was prepped perfectly and that everything was exactly how it needed to be. When the day came for asphalt, George and his crew were there first thing prepping everything to make sure that there were no issues that would arise during the day. Everything went smooth and by the end of the day the new driveway looked spectacular as well as the areas that were top soiled and seeded by his guys. There was a ton of work that George and his crew went through to get not only our driveway, but our property looking as good as it could after a lot of other construction that had gone on prior to the paving project. Georges knowledge and commitment to getting the job done right was evident through all the stages of this project. Actually it was by accident that I seen Asphalt Paving doing work at Raffa in New London. Seen the trucks and called 1-800-Blacktop!! Right away. Spoke with the lovely representative and she assured me they do residential work as well. Within an hour Ramsey came out to give me a quote on my dual driveway. Now that’s customer service! Next day company sealed up the driveway cracks to prepare and save asphalt over winter. They came out and redid my grandfather driveway, and it took no time at all. Even with it being a hot day they weren’t there for more then 4 hours to take out the old driveway, and put the new one in. Very professional and happy crew that seemed like they wanted to be there. Originally Justin had stopped by our house a couple years ago after doing the neighbors driveway and we had them do the first half of our circle driveway, now about 2 years later we had a sink hole open up and the other half was in desperate need of repaving and was pooling water badly. Luckily the sink hole was just some rocks settling. George, Justin and the crew got right to work: digging up the hole, pulling up old pavement, lowering a high spot in the entrance, re-leveling, grading and compacting fill during day 1. Day 2 they laid the new asphalt and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Nearly invisible seams (show up more on camera than in person) and the runoff is perfect our driveway is pretty complicated terrain with gravel parking on both sides, garage, house, uphill entrance all built into/on top of a rock cliff hill. Like everyone else mentions prices are fair and the work is excellent.

I had hired this company about 10 years ago and they came out, did an awesome job on our back lot and driveway! Till this day 10 years later, asphalt looking great!You would think I would do the same 10 years later for another property but I went with another company and that company was a complete bust! But as soon as I got on the phone with Ramses and his boys they were up and willing to correct the work this other company did!! That you can't find in this industry. So to find individuals who still care about the customer and contractor relationship is a company we all should go with. I learned my lesson to stick to the professionals.

14 years ago we had GW install our original driveway and it had held up perfectly! Unfortunately we now needed to rip up a portion for a construction project and decided to redo upper half and add another layer over the remainder. We called GW back because we knew their quality of work... but they also still did give us the best price! Both times we did a double layer (commercial grade) of asphalt because we like how it holds up to big trucks and equipment. We had a tough project as we needed to match grades with multiple buildings as well as match up to the remainder of existing drive to overlay smoothly. GW did this effortlessly and made sure to pick the best day, weather wise, to complete our enormous driveway with no visible seams. Their #1 goal is to make sure the customer is happy!

First and foremost I can not comment on their work only on service. Appointment scheduled for 10:00 for minor repair and seal coat. At 9:51 received txt “Good morning Mike filling up sealer and be on our way to you. Be closer to 11.” Reply “Understand”. At 11:43 I txted “Did you mean 12?” No response. At 12:30 txted canceling appointment and would be seeking services elsewhere. Received txt “I apologize it will be scheduled. Don’t know taking so long.” Worker shows up at 12:33 stating has been at bottom of driveway for 10 minutes trying to figure out if can turn around before walking up. Told him I canceled job. Claimed previous job took longer, (not filling sealer as previously stated) and took 30 min to get to my address. Worker implied I was wrong, stated stuff happens and why won’t I give him a chance. He showed up with what appeared to be girlfriend and dog in truck. My time is no less important then theirs, 2.5 hours late, mixed stories and rude. Not a service I care to deal with.

His description was comprehensive and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions about licensingand insurance, and permitting ( which he got for our driveway project). Honestly, this was the best first experience I think a person could have with a service like this. George was confident without being pushy and was open to change. For example, we originally planned to have 1-car width at the end, but changed our mind to a 2-car. He said it was no trouble at all! He was very nice, informative, and professional, as was the entire crew. Any questions we had we answered in a way we could understand and left us with that warm and fuzzy feeling. George was also attentive, checking in frequently to ensure satisfaction.His crew even took on additional tasks as the job went on, such as relocating the stones from our old driveway, and leveling off our backyard. I would go as far as to say they are THE ABSOLUTE BEST around here at what they do! They completely exceeded our expectations and the value coupled with the quality is what brings it all home. For these same services, another company would probably charge double. I also thought these kinds of things happened over a course of three days or so. However with the right equipment and the right crew apparently it can be knocked out in 1. These guys are 5 stars amazing. They did the most amazing job on our driveway and pathway. The quality of work is unmatched. Family business for over 20 years and it shows they all work together in sync getting the job done. Showed up at 7am and job was done at 3pm. The price was awesome. Also while doing our drive they went over and did my neighbors at the same time without skipping a beat. I could rant all day about them but the cold heart truth is, if you need paving done and you don't call them your a fool!

Our driveway looks 1000x better! We had a half concrete slabs, half dirt drive. They ripped up the old, widened and leveled and paved new. The cost was really reasonable. The crew was super nice and knew their stuff. Made sure everything was right and looked great including the yard around it which was nice that they leveled it out. George explained everything about the process and the care after and made sure we were happy with the job. Would defiantly recommend this family owned business.
