EDIT - after reply. They were not timely, the sheet they wrote was a joke and the work they did was subpar and dangerous. Their claims about 'high standards' and 'quality' hold no water when one actually sees the work completed, both physical building work and intellectual work creating a comprehensive estimate.On the day they were supposed to present me a contract (9 weeks after the remediation) they changed their tune about every aspect of the job and attempted to add at least $10,000 onto the job out of my pocket.Paul Davis did my remediation on a water claim, which was not done completely and was left in a hazardous state. When speaking with their estimator and project manager in person there was an agreement made regarding the scope of the work and some upgrades to the existing flooring. I was to do the upgrades myself and this was discussed and agreed upon with both. In addition there was already too much underlayment in the affected areas which I was going to remedy before they came in to do the replacement.After these discussions, I was informed that the extra underlayment (3rd layer of underlayment and heavy damaged from them removing some of the tiles) needed to be left in place and that the upgrades I was going to do myself could only be completed by Paul Davis. Leaving the 3rd layer of underlayment would have resulted in a substandard install, which in itself was a deal breaker. Tile needs a proper subfloor and underlayment base in order to have the longevity and stability that tile floors are known for, improper installation is worse than not installing tile in the first place. That coupled with them refusing to allow me to do some of the upgrades myself was a blatant attempt to upcharge me for the repairs while simultaneously doing a substandard install.For these reasons I opted to remove them from my project.I fully expect ANY contractor to do two things -1. Be honest and forthright in all discussions regarding the project2. Do a quality and industry standard install. Neglecting to properly address the floor under the tile absolutely unacceptable.I will not contact Paul Davis again for ANY work, and I will strongly suggest to anyone I know to avoid using them for any work on their home.

Horrible company. We had water damage in a 1800 sq ft playroom and a bathroom upstairs. They installed the drying equipment wrong couple of time and every team they sent badmouthed and criticized the work of the previous team within the company. It took a long time to fix the issues to the point that we requested that our insurance company assigns us another contractor which they did.This is the follow-up to the owner reply: you are actually quite familiar with the project and the situation at our home in Chester CT. I had contacted a company that said it would be several days before they would be able to come assess the damage. I decided to contact Paul Davis and was put in touch with Scott. He was so friendly and was able to come over within an hour of my call on December 30th (Friday) afternoon.He not only assessed the damage but had his team of professionals begin the cleanup of the water damage from the burst pipe. Throughout the next several days, over the holiday weekend, Scott came over and completed the cleanup, removing the damaged carpeting so it wouldn't get mold and mildew from being wet for so long.I was extremely happy with the professionalism and service I received from the mitigation experts at Paul Davis and urge anyone that is dealing with stress of damages from water, fire or storm to reach out to Paul Davis. Our insurance Co sent Paul Davis out after our dishwasher flooded our kitchen while we were gone. What appeared to be a small malfunction turned out to be a huge deal with lots of water going under our floors and into basement. Never imagined ! Scott from Paul Davis was out right away and set up dehumidifiers in kitchen and finished part of basement where water leaked down to from kitchen. I used this company after I had a fire in my garage and smoke damage throughout the house. Their cleaning service and pack out of furnishings was done well but the restoration of the house where they reconstructed the garage and adjacent walls to the house along with some additional work on the interior required constant follow up and challenging of the work to have the work done correctly. While they met the terms of the contract in terms of timing which was 2 months longer than other estimates it became clear that they needed that extra time due to poor management of sub contractors. We called Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven very early on a Sunday morning after waking up to a major flood throughout our entire finished basement. Their Technicians arrived within two hours and had things under control by the end of the day. We worked directly with Project Managers Mike and Jason who impressed us from the beginning with their communication and attention to detail. They also helped us navigate the insurance claims process and worked directly with our insurance adjuster to that end. PDR is a multi-faceted company that serves all the needs of a homeowner in need of restoration of many kinds following a "disaster" in your home. Although it involved my following the repairs with several different worker/managers in charge of various types of repairs, the office staff and my fav guy, Scott, kept me informed and ALWAYS answered the phone in person when possible. No waiting for return calls! Its a relief to get updates and ask questions from a coordinator like Scott. The repair work was done well by experienced workers, scheduling as soon as their work load allowed. Paul Davis was part of an insurance claim for a leak in our house. The mitigation portion of the process was fine and the crew were very responsive. The restoration portion of the business was very poor. Our repairs were during a pandemic, with that said however, the straight forward job took almost an entire year, had a hard time finding a sub-contractor to do the job for what they quoted and then the one we ended up with was just horrible with almost no professional aptitude (FYI- it was Jame Salls roofing and remodel so you know to stay away from them). Most things were redone twice or more and we had to serve as on site foreman or it would have been even worse. Stairs were damaged, repiars made with damaged material and left as if there was no problem, workers were drunk/drinking on the job, sometimes would show and sometimes not with no communication, no tradesman, workers with little technical experience and were mostly learning on the job...this experience goes on in detail but needless to say we were devastated that we trusted these "professionals" with putting our home back together with pride and respect. When paul davis was asked to intervene they said they could not control the sub-contractor, and this applies to complaints about professional behavior as well. I had a water leak that destroyed the finished portion of our basement. After the cleanup, Allstate recommended Paul Davis. They did a great job on the basement, it looks as good as new! The only problem I had was the length of time it took to get this job done, but that was a communication issue between PD and Allstate. Once that was figured out, everything went smoothly. The team that came out was very professional and left everything spotless!

Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven, CT responded immediately after my contacting my insurance provider. They assessed the situation of raw sewage entering the finished lower level of my home. Within an hour a crew arrived and began remediation, containment and air cleansing of the house.
