It's hard to imagine a better group of hard working, happy, intelligent, and skilled men, to replace your roof, than those that make up A&J Quality Roofing. So much so, that we now call them friends. Greg, James, and crew, worked tirelessly through the winter months, against snow and rain to complete the job. We have an enormous expanse of hip roof area and they tackled it all, including two skylights as well as spotting a few areas that needed new boards. They also flashed some areas that had no protection against future snow accumulation. They were also willing to do some extra repairs we've been wanting, on the spot, despite the cold, in addition to the roof, and they came out perfect. They will also be installing all new gutters in a few weeks. Because of the winter conditions they endured, we would have them in for coffee daily, and that is when we really became friends.The most exciting part revieled when, talking about our favorite subject, FISHING, we found out that Greg is our State of Connecticut's Mako Shark Record Holder! As Fishing Fanatics, to have such a person install our new roof is like having a Celebrity Roofer! We talked all things Fishing during coffee time, and we even got to meet Greg's dad, Jim, who would join us to advise the roof progress as well as give us some fishing secrets! We would Highly recommend A&J Quality Roofing for your roofing needs but to us, they are A&J Quality Friends!

A&J Roofing re-roofed our house 11-years ago. After Thanksgiving, a 200-year old tree fell on our house, shattering the chimney, rafters and puncturing the roof. We immediately thought of Greg and he responded right away with a quote and agreed to start within a week. He and his crew replaced our roof in a timely fashion in spite of an early snow storm and cold weather. He helped suggest other contractors and was willing to work in tandem with them. Greg and company were friendly, professional and followed current COVID protocols. Throughout the job Greg was easily reached and responsive to calls and questions. A&J roofing is quality above the rest!!They are professional, extremely knowledgeable and have 3 generations of experience. They sat us down and explained the products they would use and the process. They were extremely neat, not a nail left behind, and took care around my bushes and garden. We've turned to A.J. roofing, a local family business, for 18 years. Initially, we had a minor roof leak and then a more major skylight leak. We were impressed both by the quality of work, the fair and transparent pricing, and the business sense (Imagine, a contractor who responds immediately to messages, appears on the scheduled day, and completes the work quickly with good communication throughout). We have since had our roof replaced, but continue to use A.J. for gutter cleaning and checking various areas for deterioration. If you're looking for a square-dealer who does great work, this is the company to hire.

Initially we were confident in Greg's knowledge and ability but after completion of the work the chimney flashing he installed leaked leaving staining on our inside walls. Greg assured us he had done the work properly but we discovered it was defective when a chimney specialist came out to inspect it. Our siding, deck & window were damaged by falling shingles because they did not protect the house with tarps. We had to have him come back to fix several issues including exposed nails and improperly fit drip-edge. For what he charged the work did not come out as expected.

I'm not usually someone who write reviews unless I have something to complain about (we're all guilty of this) but I feel compelled to give A&J their due. The work they've done for me is outstanding, and I've had roofing done by many different companies on several different properties over the years. Their expertise is beyond compare and their remarkable quality is without question a sign of their dedication to their workmanship. Top-notch. I've seen roofers who get the job done quickly and cheaply, and this is not one of those cases. Leaks that have been on and off for years, frustrating me without end, have caused thousands of dollars of damage, and never fixed or explained by any other roofers I've called. Those leaks were finally remedied by A&J's careful attention to detail and their clear knowledgeability. If you want to send your brother in-law up onto your roof with a hammer and a box of nails to save a few bucks, then go ahead, but if you want something done PROFESSIONALLY, then just call these guys.
