New/replacement roof and gutters were needed on our house in Newington. After getting quotes and talking to several roofing companies we decided to go with Modern Roofing. Jay and Jeremy gave very personalized service, were local and kept an eye on the process all along the way. In addition, Andre did a great job on the gutters! He made sure we chose the right color and the new gutters came out great! The team doing the roofing work did a great job, finished the roof in one day, and cleaned up perfectly. Pricing for the whole job was very reasonable. Overall we are very pleased with the work and would recommend Modern to anyone.

We had noticed some mold forming in the corner of our ceiling and traced it back to it being a roofing issue. I did some research and through word of mouth I was directed to Modern Roofing and scheduled an appointment asap. That's when I met Jay, he came over and thoroughly explained the situation and how him and crew will resolve it. Also finding out at the same time he could replace my bow window with a new style. After hearing all the information and the way he talked about his crew he was hired on the spot! In a timely fashion his crew showed up on time and got to work like a well oiled machine. They were all very friendly and took the time to remove items off the deck that would be in the way of stripping off the roof and put them back when they were finished. The amount of time it took them to strip it and re-shingle was absolutely incredible. During the process Jay approched me and I was then informed where exactly the leak was coming from, it was missing flashing and the crew fixed it right away. After completion of the roof, any and all scrap/trash pieces of material were picked up and the job was left like nothing ever happen. Jay and his guys were on the ball with everything he explained would happen and had it done in one day! About a couple weeks later our window came in from the manufacturer and again Jay and his team knocked it out of the park bring words to life and finally picturing what exactly we wanted. From pulling the old window out to redoing the color matched siding and installing the new window all in one day! Also let me tell you about the attention to detail with all the flashing and trim work inside and out! His crew are true craftsman and take pride in their work. I'm very lucky to have found Jay/Jeremy and pleased to have witnessed the truly outstanding work that their guys can do. Jay made this whole process easy. He was very friendly, and felt like he was a family friend for 10 years and the amount of knowledge he shared made understanding the process simple. I highly recommend Modern Roofing and words can't say it enough, but also extremely please withe all around experience with this company! I'm not one to write reviews but I definatly wanted to after the lovely work done by them, see for your self! I know for sure they just got a customer for life!

Really positive experience with Modern Roofing. Jay and the team were excellent to work with. Everything went smoothly. Met with Jay on March 18th. Asked that job be completed by end of April. Job was done on April 16th. Everything was done in 1 day. The team did all the work and cleaned up nicely when they were done. Jay was onsite to answer any questions that I had. The dumpster came on monday and was gone on wednesday. Low pressure sales pitch, and delivered everything that was promised, including timeline. Estimate was also very competitive. Very satisfied. If you need a roof, give them a shot, you wont be sorry.

Jay and his crew did great work. They were able to schedule me quickly and completed the work in a single day. They also came back immediately to replace a bird screen for one of my roof vents that was lost during construction. Highly recommended!

Jay did my neighbor's house a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. His employees were "workhorses" and didn't stop except for lunch. I asked Jay to come and check my flashing but discovered I needed a new roof. He showed me pictures and I was so surprised. When I bought my house in 2002 I was told that the roof was a brand new 30 year roof so I definitely not expecting this. I think Jay and his crew are wonderful and would recommend them for anyone needing a roof. They also do gutters! Thanks Jay, Rex and crew!

We received word from our insurance company, with very short notice, that we needed a new roof in less than 2 months or we would be dropped. Jay at Modern Roofing was very responsive to our urgent need for a new roof. In the course of researching what roof we wanted to get, we came upon a fairly new roofing material by Atlas called Pinnacle Sun. These shingles will apparently keep our attic 25% cooler. Jay worked really hard to acquire these shingles for us. Once the shingles arrived in Connecticut, Jay quickly scheduled a day to do the job. Our roof was completed in a single day and it looks great! We were very happy with the service provided by Jay and Modern Roofing. Modern Roofing did an exceptional job re-roofing our new to us home. Jay was excellent in keeping us informed as the process unfolded. He was very thorough in his evaluation of the condition of our roof and the problem areas that needed attention. Crew worked hard in hot weather, stripped the old shingles, addressed problem areas and installed new shingles in one day. Cleanup was well done. Two crew members came back the next day and finished the details and repaired a problem area. Jay and his team did a great job replacing the roof and gutters. Installation was very smooth and completed in one day. I liked that I could meet with him, and he listened to my concern and checked the roof and attic before signing the contract. He often checked the installation progress. This company did impressive work!We needed to have our roof assessed for a recent problem with a leak. Starting from the estimate, they were the only company of many we interviewed that actually went on the roof. Their analysis was that while the roofing was of an age to be replaced, the problem was probably the result of some failing flashing and workmanship around our dormers, so their pricing estimate included that. Even with this work included they were very competitive.Working with the project coordinator Jay (who is also the individual who went on the roof and provided the estimate, and was onsite throughout the entire project! ), he kept us updated in a very timely fashion as to when the project could be scheduled. Once we had the day pinpointed, the crew showed up exactly at 7:00 AM and went to work, They carefully moved the furniture off the deck and protected any landscaping from the removal process. They worked the entire day (and then some) to make sure the house was waterproof. The finished the job the next day as we had to have some siding replaced on the dormers. The deck furniture was replaced, any trash or debris was nowhere to be found. Not a single roofing nail!We could not be happier with the entire experience with this company! Our roof sustained some damage as a result of a wind storm and I obtained several quotes to have it repaired along with repointing of our chimney. Jay was punctual, professional and paid attention to detail more than others. He was the only one who bothered to assess the ventilation from the interior and to take measurements of the skylight that we replaced. His crew showed up on time and did a great job for a fair price. When they were finished, the job site was cleaner then before they arrived. Our roof was in need of a full tear-down. Jeremy, Jay Swanton and their team came through with the utmost professionalism and efficiency to get the job done.We have an old home with gambrel style roof and dormers (so some steep pitches, extra layers of complexity, etc.). The crew came through with the materials and a few guys to get the job done quickly. We even had a large industrial style vent (from years before we moved in so not even sure what it was for) which the guys checked out, took down and repaired with new boards meticulously. I had a big ( really big) tree fall on my house and garage. It did serious structural damage and of course put several holes in the roof. Jeremy came over and gave me an estimate the next day and was able to start work within a few days.He repaired the structural damage and reroofed the garage and house. When the Insurance company tried to low ball the offer Jeremy sent in a detailed description of the work, Itemizing each part of the repair as well as many many pictures of the work done. They insurance company settled up in full.There is no good time for a tree to fall on your house but with Jeremy I got it fixed right, done quickly without having to hand hold the process and he saved me a fight with the insurance company.I am super pleased with the way Jeremy handled the whole thing and would definitely use him again for any roofing jobs.Services: Roof repair, Roof installation
