Basement Remodeling is the first construction/renovation/remodeling company that I have ever hired that stayed on schedule, provided timely updates, and did an amazing job finishing my basement. My basement was unfinished and from the moment Basement Remodeling came to my house and walked through my basement, I felt my vision come to life. The quote they gave us at the start of the project was the cost of project, there were no hidden fees or costs and they were upfront when/if anything changed from the initial cost. We had our basement remodeled by Basement Remodeling between July and December 2023. We were looking for a quality company that could readily navigate the DC permit processes and having spoken to several contractors chose to work with them as they specialize in basements. In fact they do nothing else! We first engaged with Eric who worked with us patiently to come up with a project outline, scope and cost estimate we could work from. Eric's knowledge and experience in developing the project concept gave us the confidence to move forward with Basement Remodeling. The project started with a very optomisitc 11 week timeframe (which ended up closer to 5.5months) with delays mainly due to hold ups with permits. The project manager (George) was responsive and pleasant to work with (even if a little overstretched at times), whilst accomodating our every request. If there was something we weren't happy with he would haev it quickly taken care of with the final payment only due when we were 100% happy with everything. The quality of the work was excellent and everyone who has seen the finished basement has been very impressed. We did however, work with a separate architect/interior designer who helped enormously in getting the most out of the space and with the design and finishes. Whilst Basement Remodeling do have in house expertise they tend to bring in their designer at a later stage when the layout etc has already been decided at which point the opportunity to optimise the use of available space may have been lost. Overall, working with Basement Remodeling was a postive experience and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Our experience with Basement Remodeling was wonderful. They were clear from the beginning on what would be done and the costs. Any changes were clearly communicated. They were very responsive, answered questions and changes professionally, and resolved issues quickly. Our project manager, Derek Diehl, was very helpful and communicated with us regularly so we knew of any hiccups so they didn't slow down the process. They provided weekly progress charts and stayed very close to their schedule. Our basement was finished on time and with minimal disruption to our home life. Their contractors were courteous and treated our home with respect. I would recommend this company.

We had them take on our basement project and from the start basement remodeling made us feel very comfortable. I was not 100% sure what I wanted and the team walked me through all the options and even continued to think of ways to make it special to us. They walked us through every step as it was completed and at any point if there was a concern it was addressed immediately. I researched several companies regarding my basement remodel. A few of them came to do a walkthrough but never followed up. I stumbled across Basement Remodeling and spoke with Eric Campbell. He was very professional, open and honest about the cost. At that time, it was over my budget. A few months later, I reached out to Eric again. Same demeanor as our last encounter. He conducted a walkthrough and provided a plan for my basement the same day. He was available to discuss my options and understood my vision. Once I confirmed I was ready to move forward, Gheorghe reached out as my Project Manager. All I can say is wow! He is awesome. His team came to map out the floorplan, provided suggestions and put me at ease. Throughout the project, Gheorghe reached out weekly to let me know what was planned each week and if there would be any delays. Let's say I made several modifications to the original plan and yet Gheorghe was amenable and said sure...even down to final completion. While I didn't get everything I wanted due to budget constraints, I am very happy with my basement. Basement Remodeling can work with any budget and make your space beautiful! I will definitely use them again for as I would love to add a wet bar to my space. Thank you so much Eric, Gheorghe and Shanae for an truly awesome experience.

Basement remodeling did a great job on my basement. The weekly emails of the status of the project is a great resource. The quality of the work of the team is phenomenal! The work was on schedule and if anything changed I was fully aware. Be sure to communicate all your details in writing so that communication is clear and precise! From the beginning, they were very transparent about their cost as compared to others but also about their comparative experience and the quality of their service. Without giving exact numbers, they were just about in the middle.The project was finished quicker than originally stated without a loss in quality or attention to detail. Eric, my Project Manager, took great care in understanding my wants/needs and laying out a comprehensive plan. He kept me informed of what to expect and what I needed to do throughout the process. There were no surprises in timelines or costs. Any additional expenses were driven by my added requests. Also, Eric was always responsive and helpful in coming up with ways to meet my requests.Renovations are, by their very nature, intrusive. But the teams that came into my house were respectful of my property and my family. I feel so lucky to have found Basement Remodeling to finish the basement of our new construction home. We decided not to finish our basement with the builder and about a year later we really wanted the extra space for our growing little boys. Working with this company to bring our vision to life was one of the best decisions we could have made. The entire process was so smooth from start to finish. Our PM Gheorghe was outstanding and his attention to detail was very much appreciated. We had some changes to the floor plan once Gheorghe was on site before construction and the outcome was so much better then we could have imagined. Gheorghe kept the project on schedule and we appreciated the weekly e-mails that he sent which outlined exactly what work was taking place that week. We worked with Bindu to help with design selections and she went above and beyond to help us source the products we wanted. The project was finished on time and the quality of the work was top notch.
