My wife and I are extremely happy with the quality and craftsmanship with our new laminate floor that Solid Rock Surfaces installed for us. Joseph So was great to work with! He was extremely helpful and accommodating to get our floor done within a specific time frame. His crew was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely skilled. As the project got closer to being finished, I had not purchased enough material to finish. Joseph happened to be near the store where I purchased the flooring and bought what was needed to finish the job. This allowed me not to miss work and kept the project going. Great Customer Service. We moved to KC and immediately began searching for contractors to renovate our newly purchased (but older) home. We initially interviewed several and were not convinced we wanted to hire any of them for one reason or another. My designer came across Joseph and our search was over immediately after meeting him and his workers. Joseph and his crew are professional and trustworthy. He is straightforward and honest - something that is very hard to come by when working with some contractors. On top of that, he is very pleasant and kind. We hired him to complete a major master bed and bath renovation, but ended up expanding the scope to remodel most of the rest of the house (new windows, roofing, hardwood floors, custom cabinetry, exterior stucco, painting, and electrical/lighting.) Our project was large and got even larger as it progressed. As is common with an older home, issues came up along the way. Joseph handled everything with patience and the utmost professionalism. He is very easy to work with and clearly cares about his clients and making them happy. We’ve been in our home for about a year now, and are so grateful with the final product due to the work completed by Joseph and Solid Rock! Solid Rock Custom Construction recently finished a kitchen remodel for us and I just can't say enough great things about Joseph and his crew. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Solid Rock redid our hard wood floor recently. It has made a WORLD of difference in the appearance of our home. We had old oak floors throughout the home with carpet over and when we removed the carpet it was a few years before we were able to get the floors refinished. Joe and his crew timed it perfectly for us and were able to get the remodel done on the week we were out of town with our family. They arrived as expected and completed the entire project while we were away without any setbacks. When we arrived home to our newly refinished floors they looked BEAUTIFUL. We discovered Joseph and Solid Rock at the home show this past spring.They installed new wood oak flooring and refinished the existing wood floors.They did a fantastic job on all of the floors. They look great.Showed up on time and performed the services that they were contracted for. The project ended up taking longer than expected once they were underway. Fortunately we were able to work the schedule out.Here is one item they could improve on:Have a dedicated superintendent on the jobsite daily to handle any issues which arise. There was an issue with the plumbing which I had to call an outside company to come and fix. I shouldnt have had to contact anyone to come take care of any issue related to my project.I would use Solid Rock again to do another job as long as they have a superintendant who is on the jobsite every day.The bottom line is that i can recommend them based on the quality work that they do.Service: Flooring

Solid Rock Surfaces LLC installed my new granite in June of 2015. I had an initial in home consultation with Joseph. I was very pleased with his knowledge and the time he took to make sure everything was properly surveyed and measured.I have installed granite in two previous homes, so I am knowledgeable to a certain extent. Solid Rock Surfaces was not the least expensive of my three estimates, but they were so close to each other in price, that I made my decision based on who I trusted. Joseph won my trust easily.Solid Rock had my install scheduled with in one week, arrived early, installed quickly and accurately. They cleaned up everything and left my kitchen just as they found it. The whole process and interaction was exactly as it should be.Based on my experience, I am going to have Joseph install granite at my sisters home as well, later this spring. Joseph at Solid Rock Surfaces is a true professional and very easy to work with. I work in the commercial construction industry and flip houses and have rentals as a side business. I put out a request for a contractor for a flip I was starting and Joseph was very responsive and came to meet me on short notice. I bid that project out against several other flooring contractors and his price was very competitive. Since that first project, Joseph and his crews have continued to perform and have earned my business. Now that we have completed several projects together I just call Joseph and have him give me a price and know that it is a good price and I plug it in my pro forma.Joseph and his crews are timely, take great care to not leave a mess, and do quality work. I remodeled my neighbor and good friends house and trusted Joseph and his crews with the keys to show up and perform while no one was around.Whenever we have had some small items come up, such as missing a board that my trim won’t cover or some gaps that need filled, Joseph and his crews are very responsive and always correct the deficiency. How a contractor corrects an issue is a true sign of how good of a contractor they are. There are lots of competent flooring contractors in KC but not many with the great service and integrity that Joseph and the crews at Solid Rock Surfaces have exhibited.

Went to the 2018 American Royal Center KC Remodel and Garden Show looking for a contractor specialist that could rescue the 105 year old wood floors in my recently acquired home.Joseph So was able to come out to the house in a timely fashion and do an insightful inspection.Although my house and repair area is smaller than a lot of his work, he caught a vision of excellence to come in the total structure renovation and was able to dispatch a work crew a day before schedule.The team was clean, communicative, polite, steady, careful and meticulous.Very happy with the results and highly recommend Solid Rock Custom Construction, especially for older wood floor restoration and repairs.

I met the owner for the bid, got the bid sent to me without having to follow up to see where it was, the price was fair, the installers showed up on time and were courteous and professional, and the granite looks great! As I type this, I am actually arranging a time for the owner to come and give me a bid to do granite in the kitchen of my home. Great job. I had Joseph bid on a relatively small exterior painting job including all of the second story soffits and fascia that I wasn't comfortable reaching. Power washed, replaced some rotten wood, caulked, and painted everything. Very good communication as we had to work this in between some rain. Crew was very nice and hard working. I thought the price was reasonable and overall a good value. I'd certainly recommend for future work. Thanks.

I hired Joseph and his team to new flooring in my house and was not satisfied at all with the work. His guys that he contracted to put the flooring in, hit my walls with their floor stapler with it leaving dents, marks on my newly done cabinets, etc. They dropped the floor stapler on my prefinished flooring that left dents all over my new floor because they were rushing through. They put finish nails in areas that were not supposed to be put in according to the flooring store i bought the material from. I will never use Joseph again for the lack of caring of the damage that i pointed out to him.
