Being new to South Florida it is hard to navigate the ins and outs of hurricane preparation as it relates to your roof. We just purchased our home and got our inspection. I had a wind mitigation inspection for my home insurance and found out that I cannot get the next higher discount because I did not have enough nails in the clips that attach my roof to my walls. I called Wind Mitigation Solutions and they explained the process to me and what they will do and what I should expect. They came out as scheduled, on time, and completed the work in my attic in about 2 hours. The company even paid for another wind mitigation inspection by an independent company that I can submit to my insurance to receive the better discount. I have since obtained a better rate with another company that lowered my annual insurance bill by about $3600 which more than paid for the retrofit work I had done. Thanks to Wind Mitigation Retrofit Solutions, I was able to acquire a significant insurance credit by retrofitting my roof with clips. I was not aware such a service existed, so thanks also to my insurance agent for connecting me with Jackie. Jackie came out and explained the process, and the alternatives, to me carefully and thoroughly; I decided I would like to have the most thorough protection put on that could be retrofitted on our home, so we agreed that once the soffit was opened up, they would do the highest level method that was an option (i.e., straps or clips). Once we scheduled, we had a brief delay in getting started, but Jackie was very apologetic about this and communicated why the delay occurred and when the work could be done. Once the scheduled date arrived, the worker arrived on time and began his work; as it turned out, the straps (the higher level solution) could not be accomplished due to the low clearance in our ceiling (the straps would have been exposed outside the soffit), so we opted for the clips instead (only a small reduction in the credit it turns out). He worked efficiently and quickly, finishing up in about 1 1/2 days. He cleaned up after himself, and even helped me rehang a bulky retractable awning that had come down for the task to be completed. Once the work was completed, Jackie quickly scheduled the updated wind mitigation survey, and that has since been completed and filed with the insurance company, and my fairly significant credit has been approved and the refund pending. Assuming the credit remains at least the same amount going forward, the ROI of the retrofitting process is about 3 years, which was quite a pleasant surprise!Services: Installation, Roof repair

Jackie provided great services at a great price in a very short amount of time. Like many , we were hit with a larger insurance bill due to not being up to code on some wind mitigation. Jackie's company quickly addressed the problem and got it solved. Jackie was great to deal with and so was his supervisor on the work crew during my "third nail" operation to my roof. The crew was punctual and I was in contact with them the whole time due to "causeway" delays leading to Sanibel. Their performance on the job was satisfactory but not outstanding. I inspected the job after the crew left and found many of the insulation bats at the eaves had been pulled up to do the nail installation but never put back down. I also found nails that did not get installed all the way in but were just hammered over. To their credit, the crew returned right away after I called them and finished the insulation lay down under my supervision. While not satisfied that I had to re-inspect the job after they were originally done, I was satisfied it was done without delay and other than a broken AC condensate line which they paid me to repair, (after all accidents do happen) everything turned out fine. I was also supplied with a new mitigation report which saves the time of getting an outside inspector (and his billing) to come in.Service: Roof repair
