We had hail damage from the June 4, 2023, severe hailstorm. My insurance company agreed the roof needed to be re-roofed. I had several estimates from companies my insurance company recommended but we preferred to us a local, family-owned business if possible. With storm chasing roofing companies cold-calling and stopping by saying they were in the neighborhood wanting us to sign up with them on the spot. A neighbor recommended checking in to Nations Roofing & Construction, a family-owned business out of Dade City, FL. Dan from Nations Roofing came to see me the following day that I called. He was knowledgeable, professional, non- assertive, and supplied us with valuable information we needed to think about. The estimate he sent me the next day was lower than the other bids and he explained why. He used actual costs versus using the industry pricing algorithms that inflate expenses. Bottom-line, we chose Nations Roofing and couldn't be happier. Their estimate was spot on which became the final cost. We coordinated everything with Shirley and Kristie and everything went like clockwork. The installation team had the roof completed in two days including the clean-up. We highly recommend Nations Roofing.

Dan Rutherford and his team at Nations Roofing took ALL the stress out of replacing a 30 year old roof!! They were beyond professional and responsive with excellent workmanship and pricing. From start to finish, Dan and his team were prompt, professional, and informative. Dan explained how the process would go, what types of options I had, and then delivered a fair quote within 24 hours. From the minute I paid the deposit, the entire project took less than a week. Shirley the project manager kept me up-to-date throughout the process and was patient in answering my questions. The workers showed up early Monday morning and were finished by Wednesday evening. (@2,000sqft roof) I was astounded and very pleased by how clean and respectful they were of my home and how quickly they worked. They left my yard very clean every night! The inspections were completed within the next week so the permit could be closed and I could pass the information to my insurance company. Make sure you understand what you're committing to. The issues we had would apply to any company, and the quality of Nations' work looks very good, but we had a communication breakdown, partly due to Nations being subcontracted by a solar installer.If you don't have special needs pets or other uncommon situations, some of this probably sounds like whining. If you do, hopefully our experience leads you to get a lot more clarification before the work starts.The solar installer said the roof could be replaced in a day. Talking to Jacob at Nations after all this, he agrees that a day is a plausible, but very rosy estimate, if there's not much plywood to replace, storms don't interrupt work, and it's overcast or cool enough that the workers don't need frequent breaks to avoid heat exhaustion. So the initial misaligned expectation definitely wasn't Nations' fault.We were scheduled for a Monday, and Nations said Friday was available. I said "Friday is fine", still under the dubious 1 day impression. They showed up around 8am Friday, and clearly worked as hard as they could given the heat and an afternoon storm.Friday night, the old shingles were about half off, and I got a text from Nations saying they'd be back in the morning "to finish up the roof". Some extra time made sense with the weather, but that wording seemed reassuring that it wouldn't be much longer.That text also led to some unexpected sleep deprivation, as Nations advised us not to let the dogs free in our back yard. They still needed to work there, so they had tarps out and hadn't fully swept for nails and such. One dog is a husky, so just going out to pee without a run is rarely an option. Another needs out about every hour, or we need to clean the floors. So very little sleep for us that night, getting up to leash walk regularly, after walking them in the heat during the day.Saturday morning, a foreman showed up, and said they didn't know if they could finish that day. He asked if we preferred Sunday or Monday. I said that we had plans later on Sunday, but the morning would be fine.When the crew was finished removing shingles, but had barely started installing new ones late Saturday afternoon, I tried calling Nations to understand the timeline, but it seems the phone isn't staffed on weekends. Installing is faster than removing, so finishing in the morning still seemed plausible.The installation crew speaks some English, but it was difficult for us to understand each other, and admittedly, our situation was complicated.It's now late Sunday afternoon, the roof is almost fully installed, and we've cancelled our plans and reservations for today. Jacob pointed out that I didn't say one of our dogs doesn't do day care well. We normally trust her home alone, so we could've left if the work was done, but we have to stay with her if there's something stressful like fireworks... or nail guns firing on the roof and people in our yard.After trying to call again today (Sunday), I posted a slightly more negative review initially, and Jacob called me not long after. In fairness, most our our frustration could've been prevented if I asked more questions, or if Nations shared a lot more than they did up front.Jacob also explained that weekend work isn't the norm for them, so the crew was bending over backward to try and meet the perceived need to be done as soon as possible. All I really needed was to minimize the time we couldn't safely let the dogs free in the back yard, and to set a window when we didn't want them to work (or know we needed to cancel our plans). If the work took a week respecting those things, I would have few complaints.The whole situation sucked for everyone due to incomplete information.Knowing what I know now, I would've a) asked everyone for worst case estimates, whenever I was given the best case, b) taken the dogs to a hotel, day care, or family for the duration, and c) avoided weekend work, so I'd have an easier time speaking to someone when I had concerns.Service: Roof installation

When our roof started leaking, we got some really high quotes from companies that didn’t even come to our house to see the roof. Nations was recommended by multiple people so we called and asked for Dan and he came right over and looked at everything and gave us a quote on the spot. It was the lowest quote and he was professional and courteous. I liked that Nations doesn’t contract the work out to strangers. They have several teams of workers on staff permanently so everyone knows each other. They put new roof on in a single day and cleaned up before they left. Thank you Nations Team!

All was well until today, day of install. crew showed on time, told me they will be done today.I was surprised since I was told 4-5 days. I found out they were installing vinyl soffit that goes"boom boom boom"and fascia when the contract specified aluminum, wood grain and gutter . The crew was very upset, not at me I might add, and that made me uncomfortable as far as the communication or lack of with their rep. Derek asked me what I wanted, "most people want vinyl, I don't know if they 'll have the aluminum" I explained it was all on the contract and showed him. I spoke with Daryl and expressed my concern for what would have happened if I had not been home. I am sorry to say that the conversation was unpleasant at best. I was offered to speak with the owner which I accepted, Daryl called back " the owner said since we have not touch your house nor collected any money we are canceling the contract, good bye"

Amazing company. If your needing a new roof or repair highly recommended. It started with Daryl coming out he listened to my concerns and scheduled me for the next day to come take a look at the roof. He sent over the two quotes I asked for one for full new roof and other just repairs. From there went with full replacement the rest of the team Shirley and kristie have gone above in beyond. Scheduling on Such a short time frame for insurance to inspections getting reports sent over.
