My wife and I moved into a 20 year old house in Ellenton in Dec 2021. Due to insurance requirements, I needed a new roof ASAP.After looking around, I chooseJuan Tovar of Coldstream Exteriors and have been glad that I chose them. Juan and his crew did a great job with my new roof. The work was on time and on budget.Before any work commenced, Juan reviewed the roofing options and the costs for each option before anything was signed. He explained how their pricing worked if any extra costs might be necessary due to rotted boards that needed to be replaced, etc. We agreed on shingle type, extra air vents, etc before signing the contract.Most importantly, I did not have to pay until the job was completed and I was satisfied.There was one leak that became apparent during some heavy storms a few months after installation. Juan was at my house within two days to correct the leak. I was grateful and impressed with Coldstream's effort to stand behind their work.I felt very confident in Coldstream the entire process.I very much recommend Juan Tovar and Coldstream if you are looking to have your roof replaced.

We called around and requested quotes from several roofing companies. Of the lot, Coldstream was the only one who showed up, on-time and provided a complete walkthrough of the process. Their value for service and materials, as well as the rapid completion of the roof replacement (even with county inspection timing issues) cannot be overstated. A single day's installation and we were set! From signing the contract to completion, it only took a week! With materials availability, and labor shortages, seems close to a miracle. Jared, our point of contact and project coordinator, was very knowledgeable and responsive. All communications were quickly replied to and dealt with. As a customer and a successful business owner myself who signed a contract for a new roof back in June with Coldstream Exteriors (long before Hurricane Ian), I am extremely disappointed in their ethics. I was told last week after waiting for more than 4 months for my tile to come in that they no longer could get the tile due to Hurricane Ian. They sent me an email indicating hurricane Ian had depleted their materials supply. When I checked with the manufacturer I found out that was not the case and that they were lying about the tile not being available, I told them I knew the tile was still available. I then received a call from their senior manager who indicated that it wasn't the tile that was the issue it was that they didn't have the workers capable of installing a tile roof. This business should not be trusted. I do plan to file a formal complaint with the State of Florida. The first time I saw Juan, I thought Oh My! I am dealing with a young kid. So, as a joke I asked him for his ID and he introduced himself as Juan. Well, Juan is a knowledgeable young man who did a very professional job with his crew. They installed an asphalt shingle roof and protected the surrounding areas of the house and left the place clean before they left. Do your homework before hiring this or any other roofing company. For starters, it turns out that Coldstream doesn’t actually employ any roofers. All roof replacements and repairs are subcontracted out. So the company you hired, is not necessarily the company that will install your roof. Secondly, my home is under 900 sqft and was initially told that my roof replacement would take roughly 3 days. Contract was signed on January 7th 2022 and work started on Jan 31st 2022. They where not 100% done until March 31st 2022. I understand that things can go wrong, and that estimated work times cannot always be meet, but 2 months seems excessive. Thirdly, the subcontractors that Coldstream hired for my project damaged walls, broke kitchen backsplash tiles, damaged my electrical system (I was without power for 4 days and was told that I would be responsible for at least “half” of the repair because my house was “old”), smashed gutters and broke exterior vents. While Coldstream at the end did address all of the damages, its hard to fathom that all of this had to go wrong in the first place. Lastly, even when my roof replacement was finally completed, the end result was disappointing (even by their own admission the quality of work was not “up to their standards”). All of this being said, even though at the end of the day Coldstream did what they could to make things better (Brad was great and provided a decent credit and eventually fired my initial subcontractors and brought a more experienced crew), based on my apparently rare experience, I can’t with a clean conscience recommend this company.

Showed up at our appointment on time, gave me a fair estimate and even showed me graphically how it was fair estimate. After getting 3 other estimates with Cold Stream being the 4th, I went ahead and pulled the trigger.Highly recommend these guys.
