This project consisted of renovating a kitchen from a closed floor plan to an open floor plan which included addressing load-bearing walls. JOMA did a great job on the project from beginning to end. Jason McCall, project supervisor, and his construction teams were very knowledgeable, well equipped, and professional. Important to us was the teams were on site every day and working with an obvious interest in a quality job. When an issue arose (and they will with any reno project), the team worked quickly to resolve the issue to the owner's satisfaction. Also important was understanding that the owners were living in the space throughout the entire project and thus programming the work accordingly. Last and certainly not least, the project stayed on schedule and within budget. We would highly recommend giving JOMA an opportunity to discuss your next home improvement project with them. I’m so glad we chose JOMA to redo our master bathroom. All of the various subcontractors who came in (demo, plumbing, tile, electrician, glass) were great at their jobs, and do high quality work. And cleaned up after themselves every day. A very tidy worksite!Jason McCall was our main project leader and he did an outstanding job. Projects like this are not easy, with supply shortages and shipping hiccups, alongside the tradespeople coming in and out for a few months, but he made it a good experience. Responsive, reliable, dedicated to getting it right and keeping us happy and in the loop. My dog likes him, too, and he’s an excellent judge of character!With the amount of work travel I do, I wanted a hotel-quality bathroom to equal what I see on the road, and I’m absolutely thrilled to come home to it now. JOMA did a wonderful job on 4 small projects in our 5 points home. There was a point in time when you could find someone that could do the task or do them yourself, but no more. They are the most efficient, technically based and experienced craftsmen that can do any home repairs. All of their craftsman were respectful of doing there job will you’re living in your home. JOMA recently completed an extensive interior remodel of our home. In collaboration with our designer, they developed a detailed plan and calendar. We always knew who and when workers would be at our home. Everyone was professional and proficient in their area of expertise and took great pride in their work. I am particularly thankful for our project manager, Kyle Kendall, who was attentive to the minutia details in our design and always followed up with every work order request until the job was complete. Our project consisted of renovating a 1450 sq ft basement. Our home was built in 1951. As with any renovation job of a home that old there are always unforeseen things that pop up.JOMA did a good job of helping us address those issues (which will help prevent bigger problems down the road) and they got us back on track with the original scope of the project.Each member of JOMA's team was very professional and hard working. It is clear they take pride in their craft.We are extremely happy with the end result of our project.We want to give a special shout out to Hason, our project manager. Edit/ Update: I’m sorry to have to warn potential JOMA clients to be wary of their employee, a project manager named Joseph A. After my remodel was complete, I hired him outside of JOMA for a few projects at my house. On the last project, he pocketed several hundred dollars without completing the work and stopped responding to my messages. Don’t trust him on your project.Original review:I had a great experience when I hired the JOMA team to remodel a house that I bought. It was an extensive renovation: complete kitchen gut and expansion, remodeled two baths, traded carpet for hardwoods, detailed trim and molding work, stone work on fireplace and kitchen island, custom mantel and a challenging light fixture. Everyone that comes to my house is very impressed with the work they did.

JOMA came highly recommended for a total home renovation on a 1950s house. I've read through the reviews here on Google, and I'm wondering why JOMA had such a hard time with my house. Mains issues were delays, poor quality work and inadequate project management.*After agreeing to work with JOMA and handing them house keys, 3 months later I had an estimate and project proposal.*Once work started, they gave a completing date of 66 days - after 77 days, $10s of thousands, and no end in site, I fired JOMA.*Framing crew was managed by a guy named Rico. JOMA inspected his work and came up with 40 problems to fix; Rico disappeared, and didn't return calls.. After a month of delays, JOMA brought their in-house carpenter to fix everything. He was wonderful, and it made me frustrated that I didn't have the same quality work on the rest of the framing.*HVAC installation by Athena Air was delayed because they promised to show up 3 Mondays in a row but did not. When they finally started removing and installing pieces, Athena only did a small portion at a time and wouldn't complete the job. I was told they installed the air handler, but when I checked it, the drain pan was not properly installed. The pipes for the outdoor HVAC unit were directly over the septic lines - not allowed. They were supposed to remove the old HVAC unit, but removed less than half of it. They didn't install the gas line for the water heater, and failed inspection. They had installed wiring for an electrical heater instead. I had to find out about all these things myself. The project manager never informed me. When I brought the issues up to JOMA, I was told that Athena was busy with another job and I needed to take care of some of these items myself. I was so frustrated, exhausted, and out over $16,000 on incomplete work, I had to end things with JOMA. FYI: I've since hired my own subs using Google Reviews and the project is moving quickly with high quality results.Service: Home renovations

We chose JOMA for a substantial remodeling project of our house, after an initial bad experience with another contractor. Despite some bumps and delays throughout the process, we really love the final product and are satisfied with their service. Our project manager was Billy, who always tried his best to accommodate our very specific requests. Joma fixed my chimney about a month ago which was sinking into the crawlspace. Jason did a great job keeping me updated and sending me pictures of the project. I was surprised at how fast they fixed it. They replaced the mantel, masonry, hearth, and rotten wood all in about a week. I am very happy with the final project and will keep them in mind for future projects.

We called on JOMA to remodel our bathroom and received gracious help throughout the whole process. As we were changing from shower insert to handicap access we had numerous projects to address from tile work to painting, and from enlarging doorways to installing grab bars and new comfort height toilets. From start to finish we received great advice and recommendations from Kelly, and all crew members were always courteous, punctual, thoughtful, and showed a high degree of skill in their respective areas. Although we must have been a small project for JOMA, we were extremely satisfied with the quality of work and attention to details. Unsure what goes on with these folks business model or how they treat their employees. Multiple times in my neighborhood their employees (in company vehicles) have buzzed by pedestrians at full speed.Today, I had the pleasure of being behind this gentleman leaving the neighborhood. I know we just had a storm and he's probably over worked but no reason to give the finger and drive like a madman in a company van. I have everything on dash cam.Tried to reach out directly to JOMA after the last incident and again today to no avail. Wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and reach out but alas here we are with a review.

We worked with JOMA to convert our screen porch into a new bedroom and bathroom. JOMA is a big company, but I felt like our project manager Jason genuinely cared, not just about the job but also about our family. Our son was born midway through the project, and the team took extra precautions to keep him safe from fumes, etc. There were so many days Jason went the extra mile to get things done, whether it was finding ways to work around my newborn and crazy dog or running out to the store in the middle of the day to make sure we got the exact shade of stain we wanted. It was a long process, mostly of because supply-chain issues beyond anyone’s control, but I was SO happy with the final product.Service: Home addition construction

We hired JOMA to replace a rotten exterior wall, repair termite damage, replace water- damaged drywall, and seal a leak around our chimney. The staff was very professional. We had good communication with them. They were always polite and respectful. The final cost matched the estimate for each phase of the project. We are very pleased with their work. JOMA built a back porch to cover our existing slab patio. They also did some concrete work as we extended a portion of the patio. I knew of JOMA from living in Athens and initially figured they would not do a job this small. However, after a few contractors either didn’t show up to provide an estimate or just never called us back, we contacted JOMA, who was always professional and responsive. I came to find out that they gladly do smaller construction jobs and are even trying to expand that portion of their business. Our project was managed through an app where we could always find up to date information and photos, and we had a project manager, Billy Brown, who was fantastic. I always knew the status of our project, and could always contact someone if I had questions. I would highly recommend JOMA for a construction project at your house.Service: General construction
