This man/ business is a fraud, scam artist, a thief and the scum of the earth. Please, if you do not want to be scammed out of your money, your time and have the materials you paid for stolen; DO NOT and I mean DO NOT hire this fake company. He is not licensed (confirmed this through the contractor licensing board, pissed I didn’t confirm sooner.) Yes, I have reported him - Wilbert is his name fyi. I do not know who Shelby is. To be honest I believe he named this fake business after a credible business that pops up in google. Police reports have also been filed as well.This is sad actually, because we trusted and believed Wilbert ( he is about 5’6, short man with long dreads, black/ African American - just in case). This man has walked away with close to 8,000 dollars of our hard earned cash, plus materials. He believes he is justified by doing so because 20 percent of the work my husband and I hired him for was completed by a “subcontractor” we damn near had to beg to come to work. Oh wait he, himself ( Wilber) never did an ounce of work. Nope he had someone else come to do it and that person complained everyday he wasn’t getting paid. He told us he only received $1000 out of $2500 he was owed from a previous job he did with Wilbert. I don’t know how true this “subcontractor “ story is but I figured I would share that part anyway, just in case this is part of the scam too.I went back and forth about writing review because I know the God I serve is going to rectify this for me. However, this whole ordeal makes me sick to my stomach and I do not want anyone going through this. Please, do not ignore this review. I have evidence to back up everything I’ve sad.Yes he will quote you a price and then change it to a higher one once you agreed and signed contracts. Yes he will ask for more money (aside from the deposit) before work is started or even at 10%. He will speak very rude and ignorant to you if he can’t get you to bend his way. This has been a complete nightmare and my only solace is I know karma will catch up to him.Last but not least because this important. The contracts he ask you To sign is digital After you sign it, (maybe a day or so) you will not be able to open it again. He will also refuse to re-open or send a new link to the contract. So screenshot or better yet run from this business.

He’s is not licensed and Wilbert Johnson is a scam artist. I have also reported him to the BBB. Please do not hire Wilbert Johnson, he has multiple criminal complaints and most recently had warrants for his arrest, for defrauding people regarding jobs he has not completed.

I usually don’t do reviews but I just had to do this..The company is the absolute best! I am keeping Will for life. Met hit at home depot, explained my home situation to him, he followed me home immediately, and told me the exact color we needed for the wall after mudding. And in a short time my wall was brand new. He’s very dedicated and wouldn’t joke with your job as he went all out to make sure mine was perfect. Don’t sleep on this company. The Best!!!

I hired this company to complete some work for me on an addition for my father-in-law. I was given an expectation there was several red flags that came up but of course I’m thinking I’m being just a little too hard but unfortunately in the end, I’m still waiting on a project to be completed that was supposed to be completed more than a month ago right now. Not only did they just stop responding and stop coming by. He asked for money ahead of time because of some financial issues that he was having and his bank being frozen because another customer stop payment on the check which leaves me to believe that they may not have been as happy with their work either. I’m left with an issue that I’m now having to look for another contractor to complete because of the non responsiveness of Wilbur who is the owner of Small Jobs By Shelby Llc construction. This could’ve been easily preventable but now not only am I having to look For someone else to complete the work, I may also have to buy material that should’ve already been purchased based off of my contract it was already included.

Amazing. Sheldon installed a new double vanity, replacing a single vanity. His plumbing skills were exceptional, I love it. (He even helped me pick it out) He replaced the flooring in the kids rooms and the steps. Finally, no more carpet! Thank you Mr. Davis

The guys at Shelby Constructions are truly the 'Jack of all Trades' They were able to rebuild my deck and add stairs, it looks phenomenal. All other contractors that I called tried to convince me to totally revamp my deck stating that the 'old posts'; were unusable. Not only did the guys at Shelby Construction refute those claims, they suggested that I keep 100% of the original deck and pressure wash it in order to save money. I really appreciated the honesty. They also repaired my water damaged basement as well as added a beautiful set of curved concrete steps to a steep hill leading into my backyard. They added gutters to the side of my home and repaired my leaning front stairs which are now sturdy and look brand new. One of the contractors noticed that my A/C was collecting water near the foundation of my home and buried PVC pipes underground leading away from the home. This was all done for about the price of the estimates just to rebuild my deck from other vendors. If you want honest, hardworking, and inexpensive contractors, then I would highly recommend Small Jobs by Shelby Construction.Services: General construction, Home repairs, Waterproofing, Interior structural repairs, Drywall installation, Porch construction, Plumbing fixture installation, Concrete pouring, Drywall repair, Home construction, Masonry installation

Terrible work. Took them many weeks to show up all while promising each week they would be there. Finally had to leave bad reviews everywhere and suddenly they made it that week. Wish they had not. Simple outdoor trim project but they showed up in cars, not trucks, with only a circular saws. Didn't know how to bevel a cut and just tried to hammer in the square corners. No cuts were straight and they just filled with caulk. Wouldn't let these guys hang a towel rack. Worse was I told them they had to stop working and leave since I couldn't let them do more bad work and the owner never bothers to call or even check on their work.

I literally just called this company. The male employee whom I spoke with was very unprofessional. I called them based on reviews”! I was told some companies pay for good reviews. I thought that wasn’t true until now!If this is good business, they can keep it. He told me to call another contractor when I questioned him on some things. I told him I sure will!

I asked this guy to install a faucet on a bath tub, it was a standard install going from chrome fixtures to oil rubbed bronze. He quoted $310 to do the job. He says the wood had to be removed from the front to access the fixture. I thought well, ok, that’s why it’s so high. I was wrong. It was so high because he sub contracted a plumber to do the job and that plumber advised me that it was a $225 job because I supplied my fixture AND no wood had to be removed, there was an access panel under the cabinet! Before the job was even completed, he began nickel and diming me after Lou had already started removing parts, the new fixtures were a bit wider so the current holes had to be drilled to accommodate. This took all of 10 minutes but the job jumped to $400. Then, this goof tried to charge me $20 to unscrew the old drain and screw the new one in! What?!?!?I could’ve hired a real contractor/plumber myself! I thought that’s what this clown said he was! He couldn’t even figure out how to shut the water off!!!On the flip side, the plumber he sub-contracted was phenomenal and very thorough! He did a great job, cleaned up after himself and advised me that the job should’ve been no more than $250 even with the drilling!Scam artist is what Sheldon/Shelby is! I nearly laughed in his face when he quoted $400 to install a ceiling fan! Joke!

SUB CONTRACTS THE WORK : EXTREMELY OVER PRICED ,CONTRACTOR NEVER USED A DARN RULER TO MESURE THE WOOD..LEFT A MESS..HALF PAINTED THE DECK THEN SAID HE HAD TO LEAVE BECAUSE HE LEFT THE PAINT HOME..EVEN HAD HIS WOMAN THERE WHO WAS NO HELP..HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK..I fired them. then the contractor said he knew nothing about painting the bottom of an elevated porch..the work done by the woman was sloppy..they left NAILS IN THE GRASS..TECHNOLOGY??YOU TOOK THE WOOD TO BE MEASURED..AND CAME BACK WITH A SHORTER RAILING SIZE..Hello..cut to order..I asked for the ENTIRE porch to be painted..I TOLD HIM IM VERY PROFICENT AT PAINTING..and this job was.."hire anybody.com"..AND I HAVE AN ITEM MISSING..I HAVE NOT SEEN SINCE THIS COMPANYS WORKERS LEFT..DONT CONTACT ME..YOUR COMPANY IS BLOCKED.and your workers poured leftover black paint on my tree line.How could I be satisfied with the porch job if I fired you.???Services: Deck construction, Exterior painting
