We stopped in here this past Sunday to get out of the rain and because the smells coming out of this restaurant were heavenly! Our server was very helpful with our choices and she was right one! My husband had the Grandma’s favorite ( I think) and I had the prosciutto and arugula pie. The wait wasn’t bad at all considering the pies are cooked in a real wood oven! We also ordered the bacon wrapped wings and they were outstanding! My pizza was decadent! Every bite fantastic and my husband felt the same about his. These are not pizzas you would think would be in Ellijay, they are truly well thought out works of art! 10 stars delicious!!!!

We drove up to Ellijay on 12/23-12/26. We stopped off at Woodfire Pizza ( because it was the closest food place according to gps). When you walked in the door, the aroma was just right. I’m not gonna lie when I say I was excited! We started with the Gilmer County’s Best Meatball Parma. (Normally I don’t go for this type of thing because it’s usually bland marinara with even more bland pork) BUT not so! The meatballs arrived piping hot, sauce flavorful. EXCELLENT! My son and I shared a 14” half & half chicken and pork Poole’s Select BBQ pizza.I was confused because this pizza is under the “white” menu as opposed to the “red” menu. The short list of ingredients includes:coca-cola, brisket, and ..Pickles! Is your mind at all blown??It was EXCELLENT! My only complaint is that the center of the pizza crust was soggy, but the flavors are weird, and crazy good!Waitstaff was friendly, even though they were close to closing time.I only got the two pictures because we were starving and before I knew it, my husband and oldest son were already in the pizza! We would TOTALLY go back any time we’re in Ellijay!

This is a quaint little hole-in-the-wall in the corner of downtown Ellijay. We really liked the quaint size of the place. And so does the town, as it was full when we arrived. We were not in the mood for any drinks, but did see a number of the other patrons enjoying wines and other specialty drinks. We tried the Pomodoro pizza with pepperoni. My family is nervous about pizza because of the grease we expected, but not here. The wood fire grill gave a nice flavor to the crust, and there was very little grease on top. It was really good. The greek salad and ceasar salad were nicely flavored and not overdone with dressing. If anything to suggest, maybe tidying up the greeter table a bit from some empty boxes and stuff.Overall, a must for the traveling tourist.

Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza is always a stop for us when in the area. This was our 4-5 time here. The food has been very consistent with each visit. Service is pleasant and have always been greeted at the door. Favorite items include the Burrata Caprese, Spicy Calabrian, & Traditional Grandma. Plus Peroni on draft 🍺 . Check the wall for the special pizza/item of the day. Highly recommended overall!Parking: Plenty of parking behind the courthouse.

Overview: 4/5A great wood burning oven pizza joint. It’s located in downtown Ellijay proper. A bit loud when it gets crowded.Ambiance : 5/5Plenty of seating for large and small groups. They have high top tables as well as regular tables.Food/Drink 5/5Plenty of local beers to choose from as well as signature drinks. We ordered the hummus platter that had lots of yummy bread and dipping sauces. Each of us got a personal pizza with custom toppings. The NY Style (for the New Yorker) was spot on! The sauce was not too sweet, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil on the side.Service : 4/5Our server was good but needs to listen more carefully. I wanted to just “try” a sample of the local IPA. He brought a whole glass. Luckily I liked it so it wasn’t a problem. He was great the other time. Conclusion :A keeper we will be back when we visit again,

First time and night in Ellijay and decided to come here for dinner. Parked in the public parking lot by the courthouse, and it was a short walk to the restaurant. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, and a large smokey ceasar salad. They didn't have enough chicken for a full pizza, so they did half chicken and half pork. Both pizzas were good. I think drizzling some BBQ sauce over the BBQ pizza would've made it even better. The soda is served in a bottle, which is kind of nostalgic but also not ideal for getting refills. I guess it just depends on which one is more important to you. Overall, it was a nice, quaint place with good food and would recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

We almost didn’t try this place because of a view bad reviews. Thankfully we understand some people nit pick on a one off experience. We were in Ellijay for 5 days and came back twice! Best wings we’ve ever had! Between the 2 visits we had the bbq pizza, col. Simmons add chipotle chicken, and the BLACK GOAT! Omg! Sooooo good! Last night we showed up as they were closing, I mention this because one reviewer ripped apart their customer service and staff. The whole staff not only stayed open for us but were beyond accommodating and friendly. We will be back!

Highly anticipating eating here. Surprisingly, disappointed. Waitress did not want to be at work. Half of the food came out, was eaten before 3 pizzas came out. I mean completely done before half the food was brought out. On top of this lackluster showing, it had to be 100 degrees inside. Fans weren’t on, AC wasn’t on, they didn’t care. Hugely disappointing. Bugs crawling on the glass where food is being prepared. If I were to go back here, it would be solely to tell them how bad their environment sucked all over again. This is one of those reviews you’d give zero stars for and I’m tempted to call the Health Dept and report them. Do yourself a favor and go across the square to a different spot.

We stopped by here on the way home bc we wanted something different than a chain restaurant. I would say this is very average pizza. We ordered the “Grandma” pizza and it was extremely saucy. My daughter ordered just a pepperoni pizza and it tasted much better. I had a small Greek salad that was drowning in Italian seasoning and Vinaigrette.

Great little pizza place located at the Ellijay town square. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived but that told us that it would be a meal worth waiting for. There are approximately 10 tables that can seat various amounts of folks. Servers were friendly and attentive We had the French onion soup/kale salad appetizer. I have to tell you that the soup was the best we have ever had. Some onion soup can be too salty-but this was perfect! Our wood fired pizza was excellent and perfectly made. Be sure to add this place to your visit when in Ellijay-it’s fun, quaint and yummy. Great job Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza!

Great pizza!! My wife and I had a delicious lunch here. We got some Mac and cheese with tomatoes and bacon to start and that was delicious. Then we got the Black Goat pizza which was outstanding! Highly recommend. We had a very friendly waiter and nice spot looking out on the downtown roundabout. We will definitely go back anytime we are in Ellijay. Couldn't have been happier with our chose to stop in and grab lunch here.

Came here after searching for French onion soup. Chelsea immediately greeted us, we sat at the bar and got a few drinks, and ordered a soup for here and pizza to go. The soup came out shortly after the drinks, and was exactly what my wife was looking for. Melty cheese, hearty broth, and plenty of perfectly cooked onions. As soon as that was finished the pizza came out, and it was really good as well! Perfect evening out on elijay, we will be back!Parking: Need to park in the adjacent city square which fills up quickly. We were able to find a great spot though.

Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza is a solid pizza joint located in downtown Ellijay. We came here twice so far and have been happy with our experience both times. The first time we came they were really busy and we didn't have much time to wait for a table so we ordered a to go pizza and Greek salad. The meal was ready in 10 minutes and we ate happily on a nearby bench. The second time we came at 2 pm and thankfully there were a few tables available so we ate inside. We ordered 2 pizzas and a Greek salad and two Cokes for our family of four and we're satisfied with our meal. The ambiance is lively and bustling but comfortable and welcoming. The price was very reasonable as well so that's another plus. Parking is a little tricky but there is a public parking lot that is usually full but we were fortunate during both our visits to get a spot within a few minutes.Overall I give Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza a solid 5 stars for serving an absolutely delicious wood baked pizza and great salads. Thank you to the staff!

January 2019: One of the best salads and pizzas that we've had.June 2019: We thought we'd try Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza again now that they have been in business several months. Again, the salad and pizza were very good. Their service was very good as well even though the tables were almost all full. Our only complaint was that the chicken we added to the salad was cold and a little tough. We were expecting hot, grilled chicken strips. When we complained to our waitress, she explained that it is in deed served cold, but she removed the charge from our bill.
