We used 5th Generation to renovate our kitchen, replace all the siding on our house and install new windows and paint the house. Our supervisor was Joe Hammond and he handled everything so well. It was a major job, but he made it go quite smoothly! We have recommended them to many friends with very good results.Services: Home addition construction, Kitchen remodeling

5th Generation did an amazing job with our kitchen remodel and family room addition. The whole team was fantastic to work with! Our project was complete on time and on budget. Our Project Manager, Joe, was an absolute pleasure to work with. Even though he was working on a number of other projects, he was always readily available. We worked with Luke during the planning process, he was extremely knowledgeable and was able to set the right expectations for the project.Overall we could not be happier!Services: General construction, Home renovations, Bathroom remodeling, Remodeling, Home addition construction, Kitchen remodeling

The overall project stayed on schedule and we were impressed with all the various workers’ professionalism, timeliness and work ethic. Joe, our project manager, went above and beyond to keep us on track and address any issue as quickly as possible. My wife and I cannot praise the work of 5th Generation enough. They are a team of professionals experienced in a variety of disciplines whose input was invaluable in helping create the plan for an extensive renovation of our home. Being absentee owners for most of the project’s timeline we relied completely on our general contractor’s communication skills, attention to budget, and attention to minute detail (such as outlet plates color matched to our cabinets). General contractor Luke Cobb brought creative solutions and was always on top of things. Due to supply chain difficulties 2021 was a tough year to attempt a major retrofit. However, we were always kept informed if process changes were needed, given substitution options for appliances or materials. Since they did an amazing job the project became known as Phase I as we decided to take a short break and then plan a renovation of the second floor or Phase II.David BServices: Tile work installation, Install flooring, Home renovations, Bathroom remodeling, Fan installation, Installation, Paint indoors, Carpentry services, Remodeling, Interior structural repairs, Drywall installation, Plumbing fixture installation, Plumbing services, Home addition construction, Kitchen remodeling, Flooring

Could not be happier with the work 5th Generation did in our house! We had 5th Generation remodel our kitchen, retrofit our existing main level laundry room into a walk-in pantry, and we moved our laundry room upstairs. We converted a side sitting room in our master bathroom into a much bigger, laundry room. They were absolutely great to work with! I had an idea going in what I wanted, but Joseph Hammond, our project manager, beautifully coordinated all of the subcontractors to ensure a seamless experience. He had everything lined up and would send me daily and weekly project plans on what to expect. Linda helped me pick out paint colors, grout and tile options and took me to Crowe to pick out our beautiful honed quartzite countertops. I even worked with HVAC and Home Depot and they were delivering appliances to make sure everything was installed perfectly! It’s been a year now as I always like to wait a little while to write my reviews to make sure the quality has stood the test of time, and I can honestly say that they stand behind their work.Services: General construction, Tile work installation, Install flooring, Home renovations, TV mounting, Paint indoors, Exterior painting, Remodeling, Drywall installation, Plumbing fixture installation, Kitchen remodeling, Flooring

After hearing so many horror stories from my friends about their home remodeling projects, I wanted to give a 5-star shout-out to 5th Generation Contracting for the amazing job they did on the screened porch addition to my house. Our new porch is a showpiece and has made the other rooms in my home virtually obsolete, as we spend most of our time out there. Each of their employees is highly professional, very polite, and works very hard to get the job done in a high-quality, timely manner. The project manager was very personable and emailed me nightly updates of the work performed each day, along with their plans for the next day. 5th Generation was very responsive to our needs, and questions were answered immediately. They removed our existing deck and fully completed the addition in two months. It would probably have been completed sooner had I not made changes to the plan mid-stream. Their prices are not the lowest you’ll find, but they’re also not the highest. Our new addition has increased the value of our home significantly, and I wholeheartedly recommend 5th Generation for any home remodeling project.Service: Remodeling

In 2018 we contacted 5th Generation because we had significant damage to our hard coat stucco and decided to remove all of the stucco and completely brick our large home. It was a huge job but 5th Generation gave us a competitive price and they were prepared to do the job and they did the job very well. Everyone we dealt with in their organization was professional and we enjoyed getting to know them all. We especially were grateful that Joe was our Project Manager. He was always available, spending a great amount of time preparing us for what type of construction would commence and the timing of the project. We love our brick home and are grateful for the work of 5th Generation. We had a minor issue three years after the project was completed. I contacted Joe who came over to the house immediately and started the process of repairing the issue. He was very responsive about getting the repair completed. I would highly recommend 5th Generation for any construction project that you want completed professionally and in a timely fashion.Services: Exterior structural repairs, Exterior painting, Carpentry services, Remodeling, Drywall installation

We had a wonderful experience with 5th Generation when they renovated our kitchen, laundry and added an open floor plan and full bath. They were fantastic to work with from start to finish! My new kitchen and living space is beautiful and the layout is very functional. It was great to have everything taken care of with one team. We will be using them again when we are ready to renovate our master bedroom & bath.

We used 5th Generation to do a complete remodel of our basement (demolition down to the studs) and major updates to our master bathroom. We could not be happier with their work. Our project manager, Eric, was an absolute dream to work with, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We definitely will use them for future renovations.Services: General construction, Tile work installation, Install flooring, Fan installation, Installation, Paint indoors, Remodeling, Drywall installation, Plumbing fixture installation, Flooring

5th Generation renovated our 122 unit complex a little over 2 years ago. It was such a beautiful and dramatic change, it prompted a lot of the owners to renovate their individual units with new windows and other upgrades. Needless to say, we are very proud of this and appreciate the professionalism and talent 5th Generation brought to us.Services: General construction, Deck construction, Exterior structural repairs, Exterior painting, Carpentry services, Foundation pouring, Remodeling, Patio construction

We hired 5th Generation Contracting to renovate the main living space of our home including our kitchen. We were impressed from the initial meeting all the way to the final walk-through. The thoughtful approach to finding out the reasons behind our renovation allowed the design team to make budget conscious suggestions to meet our needs. Our project manager’s daily email updates made sure we were all on the same page and knew exactly what happened each day and what was planned for the rest of the week. We appreciate our project manager’s calm demeanor and patience in answering all of our questions and concerns promptly. The construction quality is of the highest standards and the meticulous finishing is impeccable. We absolutely love the transformation of our living space and kitchen and couldn’t be happier.

I first used 5th Generation when a large oak tree caused major damage to our home. A friend recommended them to me. I loved working with Melissa, Wayne and Bob. They handled everything with the insurance company and did a fantastic job on the house. Melissa and I talked almost daily so I always knew exactly what was going on. We had a skylight that was not cracked, but Melissa was concerned that it was structurally weakened because the tree hit very close to it. When the insurance company balked at covering this, Melissa went to bat for me and ultimately got the insurance company to pay. It was a pleasure working with them.We have used 5th Generation 2 other times since and I would strongly recommend them to anyone needing work done on their home. When I need home renovations or repairs in the future, I’ll be calling them again.

I am posting this review because 5th Generation is repeatedly texting me asking for a review. I cannot strongly enough suggest that you use any company but 5th Generation. Our experience was that the quality of the work was poor (to the extent that the safety of our home and family were in jeopardy) as was the integrity of the individuals that we dealt with.We hired 5th Gen several years ago to do a significant home renovation including a full kitchen remodel, complete rewiring of our home (at their recommendation), painting, building out of a laundry room, etc. We specifically modified their template agreement so that any changes in the price agreed/scope of work would have to be set forth in a change order we both signed.I could write pages on challenges that we had with 5th Generation but will provide two examples. Our contract included a “complete rewiring” of our home - we believed all of the wires in our home would be replaced and that all of the work performed by the electricians (installing new lights throughout the house, adding a new electrical panel, etc.) was completed and performed properly. We began having issues (fuses repeatedly popping) and brought in another electrician as we kept getting the run around from 5th Gen and comments about how although the contract said complete rewrite it didn’t really mean that. We’re not electricians so we brought one in to look at the work and diagnose the problem. What he found was our attic was filled from one end to the other with random parts and exposed wiring that the electricians had left behind, literally laying exposed in the insulation. After providing pictures to 5th Gen they cleaned the area up - we were fortunate the house didn’t burn down as we never would have seen this dangerous situation. The wiring/fuses also were a mess - we had the fuses, electrical panel and much of the wiring that 5th Gen did redone so that we could have several lights on in 1 room without fuses popping. At the end of the job (we were frustrated with how poorly the project had gone and 5th Gen was fed up with us for repeatedly bringing issues to their attention) they provided us with a final bill that was $1,000+ over the agreed amount with all of the change orders. When we asked why they advised that they had gotten a bigger bill from the cabinet vendor for additional work we’d asked for. We explained we did not ask for additional work — there were 2 items they needed to redo because they weren’t done properly - 5th Gen was copied on all communication with the vendor. The contract was between 5th Gen and the vendor and was for them to deal with if the amounts weren’t what was expected. We paid the full amount per the contract. 5th Gen’s response was to put a lien on our home. We spoke to an attorney but the net was by that point the amount we would’ve incurred in legal fees + the arbitration clause in the agreement didn’t make it worthwhile to pursue. We learned of 5th Gen from our real estate agent who admittedly just knew that they had done some work at her church. Our fault for not doing better due diligence - our agent along with us learned the hard way. Save yourself the time, expense, frustration and safety issues and hire another company.

We did a major remodel that included the master bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, screened porch and the removal of popcorn from the ceilings. The remodel turned out extremely well thanks to the designer working with 5th Generation and the entire 5th Generation Team. Most important they stand by their work and they are most pleasant to work with.

Professional. Reliable. Detail-oriented. These are the first traits that come to mind when describing 5th Generation, but they certainly don't tell the whole story. 5th Generation is simply the best. Customer service is at the core of everything they do, from initial meetings to the punch list. Every staff member is knowledgeable in his or her specific area of expertise. Their subcontractors are carefully chosen for their skills and reliability. During 2017, 5th Generation completed two projects for us -- one planned (a covered backyard porch and stone terrace) and one unplanned (a three-story water disaster). Both were done on time and with complete satisfaction.

We met Wayne and his son in law this week. A very professional team. They have a thoughtful approach to improvement projects while balancing budget. We're really looking forward to getting started and working with their design teams.

They seem to be okay. However they wouldn't touch our job because it was less than $75,000 so they do some pretty pricey jobs and I can only assume do halfway decent work considering they've been around for a while. They do not offer any sort of financing so be prepared to write a check or pay cash.
