I'm not a disgruntled customer. The problem is that I never got the chance to be a customer as Shurley never returns calls. In the past 8-10 years I have had about 4 projects where I have tried to get a quote and Shurley never returns my call. He does have a real good reputation locally, but for me that means nothing when he doesn't respond.

I own many properties in and around Rome and Don Shurley has taken care of all of my roofing needs for 10+ years including complete replacement of a couple of dozen entire roofs. Don is one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. Professional, honest, hardworking and extremely knowledgeable. He always tells me the real condition of the roof and doesn't try to upsell me if I don't need replacement. Consistent and fair pricing. Can't say enough good things about his work.

Don Shurley Construction replaced the roof on my mother's house about 10 years ago and the quality is excellent and still looks new. She was and is still happy with Don Shurley's work on her house. She doesn't like getting on Internet much so I am sharing for her, she lives in the Garden Lakes area in Rome, GA. She was so please that she has had some additional projects that she hired him to do as well, siding repair, rain gutter down spouts, and interior work by adding disability hand rails at front door and in the master bathroom. I have seen the work myself and it looks very professional and Don Shurley even allowed her to make payments to pay it off which made her very happy.He replaced my own roof at the house I previously owned before I sold it at 31 Stiles Ct. SW in Cartersville, GA. The new roof was a selling point that the buyer liked very much. It had storm damage and in June of 2018 Don Shurley Construction replaced my entire roof with whatever shingles I wanted with no pressure at all. You can go check it out, see for yourself at the quality work he did and he allowed me to pay it off by making payments because of my financial situation. I have hired his team to do repairs on certain areas of my cedar siding at my current house in Woodstock, GA about 4 months ago and I am very pleased about it and have more work to do and wont hesitate to call him for it. I strongly recommend Don Shurley Construction, I will continue to call upon him for roof, siding, and other projects as well. I have known Don for over 15 years and he is very professional and trustworthy!

I worked with Don over a couple months to help me with multiple roof leaks. I have had issues with random leaks from time to time especially during extremely hard rain events over the last 2 years and have had several others out to determine the cause of the leaks. From what I could tell, this was an extremely difficult problem to identify and resolve. Not to mention, my home is old with multiple rock chimney's and is very much exposed to the elements. Over the course of working with Don, he came out several times at no charge and constantly kept me in loop on what he was doing and them the best ways to address the problems. We ultimately resolved the problem. I really enjoyed working with Don and always felt like he was honest, fair and always looking to do what was in my best interest. Don Shurley has been working on both of my houses for some 14 years. Roofing, painting, soffit repair, flooring repair, bathroom tiling by his crews, just about everything except HVAC. A month ago we had storms blow through and blew shingles off roof - text message - two days later with the volume of calls he was dealing with he just went by and did it. As an attorney I also know many of the insurance folks in town and Don has one of the best reputations with insurance companies around. Sent his estimate in on a roof 7 years ago from hail damage - adjuster said "we know Don" get him on it asap. There are a number of good contractors in Rome, but in my opinion, Don is up there with the best. Always responsive, and shoots straight to make sure you get stuff done right - not just the way you think it should be which would lead to issues. Reasonable on price. 5 stars - period. First call for me.

He helped close an ugly chapter in our lives. Years ago we were burned by a shady roofer and left us out of money and with a tarp on the garage portion of our roof. Mr. Shurley and his crew came in and worked with our insurance company to develop a game plan for a completely new roof. The process was painless!!!! I would recommend Don Shurley to anyone needing home repairs, landscaping, flooring, roofing ect. He is AMAZING!!!I moved to the area recently. Bought my first home and had a tree fall on it. He took care of everything with zero issues. He even helped with my insurance company. He knows exactly what he is talking about and knows the right people to get the job done.I will use him again if I should ever need any home repairs! Take my word for it. It was great working with him. He had my roof, porch, wall, door, windows, fence, gutters, tile, and hardwood finished in no time at all. Called Mr. Shurley for an estimate on a re roof. He seemed quite busy and told me he would have to see when he could do so. The next day I received a phone call from Don saying he could be at our home around 5:30pm. When Don showed up he seemed irritated and pressured, I tried to be respectful as he started telling me what type of roof I should get. I informed him that I just wanted a quote on the three types we discussed. He got an ill attitude and stated" he didnt want to be educated about roofs... that he had 32 years in the business.!!!" I told him to have a nice day and take care. He is Rediculous!! He has Poor form!! He is Very very unprofessional!!!

I have been knowing Don for many many years. He has done several different jobs for me, He has always done exactly what he said he would do. He was always very punctual and showed up when he said he would. When I had an emergency he was right on the job pronto. He put a new roof on my home several years ago and did a great job. This summer we needed major work on a 3 story deck. Not only did we need the whole thing restained, we had two stairwells and multiple other pieces of wood that were rotted. I needed someone I could trust to tell me the extent of the damage. Don came out the very same day I called and got us on his calendar quicker than expected. They did an excellent job and even got a few smaller jobs done for us while his crew was here. I would use Don again in a heartbeat.

Don shurley dropped rocks off his gravel truck and cracked my front windshield. When I called him and sent pictures he basically said tuff luck and claimed road Hazzard; even though it was gravel he was carrying. If this is how he treated me I personally would be wary of his work quality.
