Arrived in late February:Warm, very clean, cozy, very quiet, all necessities were available in the cabin, and I love it especially during off season!—I had no neighbors! Was able to bring my dog (she didn’t wanna leave). Great for the price. Cafe/grill on site with great home-made food.Plenty of other food options nearby. A quick walk to Henry’s Fork River.Highly recommend Box Canyon Trail for winter snowshoeing and summer hiking with a dog. It’s right next to the river and a better experience than Harriman State Park.I’ll return soon!

I was out on vacation and even thou we did not stay here , I walked a milefrom my ABNB to this place to ask for information on the nearest vehicle service or store to help us get out of snow as we were stuck and the staff here was very welcoming, helpful, courteous and professional. Not to mention their pizzas are hand made, with fresh ingredients super delicious. I ordered 3 pizzas and they were everything you would expect. If you are driving thru here get your self or the family a pizza they are great .Food & drinks: Great variety of pizzas

The kitchen at Blue Buffalo is such a welcome addition to Island Park, ID! Being a “local” means I’ve tried all the restaurants up here and this kitchen by far puts out the best pizza and sandwiches AND for a very reasonable price! That is a hard to find combo in these parts! The kitchen is clean and updated. The property is beautiful. Troy served me and he was very friendly and professional. Overall, I will definitely be returning!

Amazing resort with great staffing and well built, comfortable, cozy little cabins! My wife and I enjoyed everything about our stay and we were actually sad to have to leave! The drive to Yellowstone natl park is not too long from here and it’s very scene so you don’t get bored on the way. We will definitely be staying here again on it next Yellowstone trip and we recommend others to do so as well!Nearby activities: Yellowstone natl park

I loved my experience at Blue Buffalo. The resort is so clean and the flowers everywhere are so inviting. I loved how clean and fresh our cabin smelled as we checked in and all the conveniences our cabin had… kitchen, comfy bed, loft for the little ones. LOVED the rocking chairs on the front porch! And the staff is so helpful and cheerful. And so close to Yellowstone! Thank you Blue Buffalo. We will be back!Rooms: Very clean and loved the decor. Sheets are high quality. Nice hot water. Fully furnished kitchen.Nearby activities: Yellowstone about an hour away. Hiking and outdoor activities right there. Floating the River right near by. So beautiful!

We had such a fantastic time at the Blue Buffalo Resort! The cabins were so adorable, clean, and homey! There was so much attention to detail with the gifts, taffy, water, bottles, essential oils, etc. The porch was so inviting with chairs and flowers. The staff was warm and so helpful! We love Island Park, and the resort was conveniently located to be able to go hiking, go to the reservoir, or float the river! We will definitely be coming back!

Place was great! It was like having your own tiny home to stay in. We reserved a room same day as checkin for 3 days. We wanted something close to Yellowstone but did not want to pay the ridiculous prices at the other closer hotels to the park with sub par reviews. Check in was online, they gave us a code for the cabin door and check out was just a simple text confirming we had left. You don’t have to see a soul if you don’t want to while you’re here. The lobby is small but they did have coffe available. I would stay here again!

I would rate this 10 stars if I could! So I was just a passerby looking for a bathroom. Their public restrooms are still under construction (expected finished around July 2023) but rather than turning us away they invited us in and let us use a bathroom on one of the rooms. The room and bathroom were beautiful, clean, and smelled nice. The bathroom even had a bidet!I had my daughter with me and she fell while playing with another kid, both the owner and another employee rushed over and offered her both a bag of chips and a candy to help her feel better.I haven't stayed here, but I really want to now! Best hospitality ever!!

I wish there were more stars to give. What an adorable place - the CLEANEST, most quaint cabins I’ve ever stayed in. And a plus for us - dog friendly. So many special touches…loved all the blooming flower boxes, the immaculately manicured grounds, the over-the-top friendly staff and even a food truck on the property. Even though the cabins are small, there is so much storage. We wish we’d had grandkids with us to enjoy the loft. Two very large TV screens, a full-size refrigerator, wonderful water pressure in the shower (a big deal for my husband), oven, stovetop, microwave and maybe most important to me - a very comfortable bed with luxury linens. Our white lab thought the big, bright blue buffalo at the entrance of the property was REAL! It was hilarious - and took some doing to settle her down. We loved our stay - lots of trails to be explored and a perfect launching site to visit Yellowstone. We will definitely be back!!!

I only visited the Blue Buffalo Grill. Great pizza. I ordered the Mountain Man Pizza without olives. Great flavor. Great toppings. Great crust. I will definitely come here again.

This resort exceeded our expectations. We stayed at Blue Buffalo for a family reunion and it couldn’t have been better. The cabins allowed each couple to have their own private space and provided the ideal spot in Island Park - allowing us to satellite out to West Yellowstone, hiking trails nearby and time on Bill’s Island Reservoir. The cabins are compact but have lots of storage space and all the conveniences necessary. We have already decided to come back next year. Apparently they are adding additional cabins and a large meeting space. They earned all five of their stars!

As with any stay there are pros and cons:**Keep in mind there are many different types of cabins in the resort.Pros:The rooms in our cabin appeared as they are online so there were no surprises there. Our cabin had a stocked kitchen with necessities (except food obviously). There was a coffee maker and coffee available.Clean and new appearingQuiet in the resort with acceptable parkingHad a smart TV. We could never get Netflix to load, but could get into our Amazon account. No Wi-Fi connectivity issues on our phonesPrice was fair. Other places closer to the park are definitely more expensive.Staff is responsive to questions by text message. One grocery store in the area around 10 miles away.Cons:I think it would have worked better for us if it had a queen bed in it instead of a full bed with bunk beds. The bedroom area is tight and also doesn’t have a door if you are staying with others. You are out quite a ways from Yellowstone (approx 40 minute drive). No on-site laundry. There is a laundromat down the road about a mile. Most restaurants in the area are pricey considering the food they serve. We chose to just cook for ourselves after the first night.I was falling asleep one night and I felt something crawling on me. It was a big spider. I know we are out in the middle of nowhere, so it happens. Just something to keep in mind if you are afraid of them. When you use the shower, you get water everywhere so we wasted several towels trying to keep the floor dry.Altogether, I think if you are a couple staying there and wanting to go to Yellowstone, I think I would choose something else closer to the park and just spend a little more. There’s not a lot to do out there. If you are looking to just relax and watch TV at night after going to the park, you probably wouldn’t mind it. It’s clean and not terrible pricing so wasn’t the worst stay by any means, but we regretted picking this location personally.

It’s is seriously thee cutest tiny cabin I have ever stayed in. I went this route because the hotels in the immediate area doubled in cost from what they’ve been in previous years.I was not disappointed in the least! There were only a few things that I found to be a little inconvenient. The mirror is very far away as the counter the sink is set in is really deep. It would be nice if there was a mirror added to be closer. The toilet is IN the shower. It just added character for me, but was really annoying because I had to slip on flip flops each time I needed to potty, or sacrifice a towel to dry the floor completely after a shower. This is a VERY intimate cabin. I would have struggled as a newlywed staying in it, because the toilet is literally right next to the bed. It was not a bother for me since there’s little left to the imagination for my SO and me.I hope to see in the future the possibility of a pool/hot tub/and maybe even complimentary breakfast. Those were the only things I missed about staying in a hotel.Other than that, I hope to return again year after year! Thank you!

We came here as newlyweds for our honeymoon. It was such a cute, clean and cozy cabin. I also loved that it was self check in and that there were no requirements for check out. That made it super simple and was very convenient. You self check in and self check out. However there was some cons. While taking a shower the water would only stay hot for 5 minutes before it goes cold. Because it was only my husband and I there was only 2 of us. But if we had had more people that stayed with us that would’ve been a lot worse. Another con was the wifi wasn’t great and the heater was locked so we couldn’t turn it up. Other than those things we liked it and would probably come back if those things could be improved.

Wasn’t sure by the reviews about coming to Buffalo Run, but after talking to Madeline on the phone several times and her assuring me that the area was safe I was very pleased with the accommodations. Also very impressed with Madeline’s abilities to manage the property as well as she does and live on site. The responsibilities that she shows as a 24 year old are very impressive and not seen much in someone of her age. I am thankful with Madeline’s help to have chosen Buffalo Run for my stay.

The reason I’m giving this park only two star review is because of Shawn, the owner. We had friends coming with us and they reserved a cabin. I asked that the cabin be close to our motor home, and they said they would make sure that happened. I told them that our friend has a bad knee and can’t walk very far. They said they put them in cabin 4, But when they got there, they were in cabin one, which is right next to the street and requires a lot of walking to our motorhome. They were not happy with the cabin location and the street noise. When they confronted Shawn to ask what happened to cabin 4, he said they never said that, and that he would have been the only one anybody would have talked to. They asked to be moved, and Shawn told them all the cabins were booked, even though nobody was there. Our friends were very upset. I Confronted Shawn and I showed him the communication in writing. He finally admitted that it could have been his daughter that said that. He finally changed their cabin, but by the time he did, our friends were so upset that they didn’t even stay. Very disappointed in the customer service here. Also, I resent that they had no trash cans in the RV area. So every time we Took out our trash, we had to walk uphill to the dumpster. At this point, the only thing I can say about this park is it has a good location.I recommend to the RV park to have somebody pick up trash daily for the customers, and I recommend better customer service.

Owner very nice and offered area sites to see. Construction going on to enlarge and improve the park. Construction did not disturb us while there. Close to many activities. Will definitely go back. Hopefully by next year they will have sewer at each site and a pizza place. The cabins and teepees look awesome.
