Stunning little or big cabins for rent while exploring nature. Not too far from Yellowstone (about an hour away). There are so many activities you can indulge in such as playing in water with toys (seasonal), fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. You can see the beautiful mountains and visit with the horses that are locally kept. We were informed there are bears around so make sure you don’t wander in the forest alone and keep your food inside. At the time we went, we saw many large fish swimming in streams nearby in streams. Our cozy little cabin had a hot tub out front. Such a beautiful retreat destination that I would highly recommend for people of all ages.Nearby activities: Water sports, fishing, hiking, horseback ridingSafety: Bears in area

Great family fun from teenagers down to younger ones. The fantastic scenic horse ride was beautiful and catered for a range of ages and riding experience. Our guide Michael was personable and attentive. We also enjoyed boating and rope swinging in the lake as well as a bit of archery. We spent a wonderful restful day in the midst of visiting Yellowstone while still making special family memories.

Best family trail riding experience that we have ever had. They accounted for various beginners skill levels and it was still enjoyable for intermediate riders. Scenic, safe, lots of choices in the trails. Personable guides. We had a great time afterward playing on the pond with the rope swing and the canoes. The archery was also fun for beginners. Great place to take your family.

My wife and I enjoyed the 3 hour horseback ride this morning and couldn’t have been more impressed with the experience. Our guide, Tucker and the entire staff were extremely friendly and made even a rainy/misty ride up to the Targhee National Forest one of our best horse rides we ever had! — and we’ve done quite a few activities like this before in other locations. While we didn’t stay at the property, The Eagle Ridge Ranch is a very easy drive from West Yellowstone and we really appreciated the 9:45am start time. Made for a less stressful morning for those with a little drive to make to the morning rides! Thanks for an awesome morning Tucker and everyone at Eagle Ridge Ranch!

Susan was really nice, upon arrival her hospitality was great and we were able to stay an extra day with no issue, and her husband was really nice when we stopped to settle the bill…The facility was terrific for exactly what we needed for a winter weekend!!!

Overall great place. When they say the rooms don’t have anything, they are serious. Need to bring shampoo/soap as well as salt/pepper and anything you may need for daily items. The room are very basic, but the views are great. Has archery you can do for $10. The fishing and playing in the pond is included with the stay. Also can book horse riding at the ranch which is a great experience.

My husband and I went horseback riding yesterday with Josie as our guide. She definitely knows her stuff. I was a little bit nervous, but she explained everything from how to get on the horse to how to handle the horse if he did this or that. We really enjoyed our experience. Thank you, Josie. Leave her a good tip; she's paying her own way through college.

We booked the 2 hour ride with cowboy cookout. This was definitely NOT a western experience, our guide was a young lady who barely interacted. We had hoped for a guide that shares information about the area and personable. We thought we were having a cowboy cookout- campfire etc. it was more like an after church VERY uptight meal. If you wanna ride a safe horse you will likely enjoy it. If you’re looking for a true western experience look elsewhere.

This was so much fun and the experience was awesome, mainly because of the staff! Josie was our guide and she was laid back, patient with those who didn't have experience with horses, and very conversational! The trail itself was gorgeous! We had fields of wild daisies and white birch trees. The cowboy dinner was delicious and again, can't say enough about the staff!! This is definitely worth the money and the drive!!! Thank you Josie and Eagle Ridge Ranch!!

We stayed in a group camp site for RVs and tents and it wasn't very finished. The bathrooms weren't finished. The other camp sites were nicer and have RV pads and pavilions but ours had tons of weeds and no tree coverage. The ground was super uneven and hard to walk without rolling your ankle. Not to mention they've had bad grizzly bears in the area and instead of providing locked dumpsters (they have dumpsters within driving distance to use) or something they just had us sign a waiver and even told one of the members of our group "if you make it through the night" I'm sure the cabins and stuff are nice and the pond recreation area was fun (lots of frogs), but this particular camp site was not good, I wouldn't go back.Nearby activities: Horseback riding, pond, reservoir, hiking, mtn biking

We booked the 2 hour ride with western cookout and it was fabulous. All the ranch staff are experienced and extremely helpful. This is coming from a first time rider. The trail ride itself was beautiful. We went through creeks, wooded area, and meadows. Very relaxing after you and your horse connect and get in the groove. After the ride we enjoyed a western cookout with pork ribs, potatoes, salad and delicious western style scones and cobbler. Highly recommend. We stayed in West Yellowstone and it was only a 30 minute drive.

Avoid the new group camping site. The camp host was unprofessional. The portapotties were full and disgusting. There was a "swimming pond" with hundreds of frogs in it. There was fishing but between our whole group we caught two fish and they charge $5 to keep them. The ground is so uneven we had multiple pepple in our group rolled their ankles just walking around camp. It is a retired cow pasture in between other cow pastures and an "active shooting" area (you literally go through a gate that says warning stove shooting to get to the campsite. And by the way, that road is technically the emergency exit road for a subdivision of cabins). I got woken up every morning before 5 am by cows bellowing as they walked the perimeter fence of our "campsite". By the way, we were warned after paying money, driving a long distance, and signing waivers that the campground has had bear encounters the last 3 summers in a row. Camp at your own risk. Literally. They have you sign a waiver.Walkability: Horrible

We LOVED staying at lodge! So roomy for our family. Everyone had plenty of room for each family. I apologize I am bad with names but Susan at the office was always very pleasant AND a HUGE help with our slow leaking tire! Thank you for all your help!Rooms: Plenty of room for our family. There were 11 of us. View was great!Nearby activities: Had fun fishing, horseback riding, and campfire.

My rating is for the meal. We experienced an afternoon horse ride and letting our girls play at the lake. It’s such a shame to see places serve food that contributes to so much chronic disease. White flour, canola oil, pretend whipped cream. Im much more happy to pay for real food versus paying for food that takes years off my life.

This was an absolute highlight of our trip out west. We rode with our kids and the 2+ hour trip flew by. Our guide showed us a path and then let me take the lead the rest of the time. We traversed small streams, and the horses confidently crossed them. I do recommend ensuring your kids have ridden a horse at least once before you do the 2 hour trail ride. One in our party clearly had not, and the child was not having it. Our guide patiently hung back to comfort him and ensure everyone else had a good time. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely go back here!

Loved our stay at Eagle Ridge Ranch. Close to Yellowstone National Park. Enjoyed horseback riding with the Yellowstone Horses on site. We never got to swim, fish or use the boats because it rained for 3 days. The cabin was so awesome. The host, Susan, was so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back again!

Nice ride. Staff very friendly. However some horses were lame or very sore. Experienced riders can tell. This bothered our group. Ranch needs to take better care of its animals.

We really enjoyed our stay here & feel we got great bang for our buck! We did a weekend tour of Yellowstone National Park & opted to stay further away from the park to save a little & see more beauty of the area. I must say, it was such a short drive to enjoy so much more than what we would've gotten in West Yellowstone or the park for the same price. We've been cramped in small motel rooms closer to YNP for the same price. Though you can see the neighboring cabins through the trees, it has a secluded feel. Our cottage was quiet & had everything you might need for a short or extended stay, & checking in & out was convenient. We picked up our key around 9:30p.m. easy breezy & simply left it in our cabin upon leaving the following day. It's a very independent process that is well designed with clear rules. Our favorite parts were the hot tub on the front porch, & though we didn't use them, the fire pit & grill. Each cottage has their own. All nice touches & very clean too. We also thought the private pond with paddle boats & other activities on the ranch looked fun. We disliked having to remove our own trash from the cabin, but I understand why the rule is in place (for those who stay longer & bring in all their food), so I happily complied. We also had to clean the dishes we used, which is again understandable. But that means the previous users were trusted to properly clean eating/drinking utensils for our use...not very trustworthy. We recommend this place & will be back!

We had such a great time riding horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch! It was the best trail ride I'd ever been on! There were 8 of us ladies (most were novices) and our guide, Tucker, did such a great job of keeping us all together while we got to see some awesome scenery along the way! If we're ever back in this area, we'd be crazy NOT to do this again!

Loved our cottage and the cute property. They offered tons of activities on the ranch but it was too cold so we mostly enjoyed the amazing hot tub!The first night the chlorine was way too intense and it made my eyes swell up, but after we let the chlorine air out a bit, it was perfect. Very hot and clean. The bed was a little old and worn in but it was cozy nonetheless. Very clean sheets and towels. Top quality grill, made cooking a breeze. Wish I had known to bring more knives and good pans for cooking, the cottage was a bit lacking. And be sure to pack your own coffee! The owner was very sweet, we will be back again next year for sure!

Absolutely wonderful experience with their large cabin. We stayed there as a large group of 12 friends to enjoy Yellowstone last month and this cabin was more than enough for all of us. They had extremely good facilities with a large kitchen, great bathrooms, awesome bedrooms and overall a pleasant staying experience. I would highly recommend these cabins for any families who are planning a trip to Yellowstone & its nearby areas there.

A beautiful horseback ride and wonderful people! We played in the pond on the pedal boats and canoes before our two hour afternoon ride. Afterwards we spent time playing horseshoe and lassoing stumps with metal bull heads. The people here were so kind and hospitable to us, highly recommend coming here!

These owners are just the BEST! So friendly and helpful. We had just a minor issue and these folks made sure we were well taken care of and accommodated. We love the cabins too! You can soak in the hot tub and star gaze. Beautiful scenery. Peaceful. Just a wonderful place for a mountain getaway. We look forward to visiting every year. Thank you, Eagle Ride Ranch!

I am happy to share our experience. We rode with 2 adults, a 5 year old, and a 3 year old.The afternoon family ride was not boring, but also not intimidating. Our guide Russell was knowledgeable, funny, and altogether pleasant. They had horses that fit all of us well and made sure we were properly matched. It was the only place that said they had a horse for my big & tall husband. They also let my 3 year old ride with me and were more than reassuring to my solo 5 year old.The young lady that works there was also obviously made for this job.It was the one of the highlights of our trip and worth every penny.Don't follow the GPS directions. Show up early to fish or canoe. Then saddle up and enjoy your ride.Thank you Eagle Ridge Ranch for exceeding our expectations!

I wouldn’t recommend staying here during the winter unless you have a truck and snow tires. They do not plow the roads around the cabins at all. We have a Subaru and still got stuck several times. Other people were also getting stuck. We spent a lot of time pushing cars out of the snow. They also didn’t provide any trash bags which was annoying. The cabins are cute and cozy, but come prepared!

This was a wonderful ranch very welcoming, amazing guides, and a beautiful ride! I learned so much and I’m so happy I got to learn how to ride from such great people. The guides, Logan and Michael were wonderful! I would highly recommend this ranch, great for family’s, friends, or a class trip!

We have visited this place twice for horseback riding whenever we visit Island Park and will continue to do so. They do some nice long rides through some pretty scenery and the kids always enjoy playing in the large pond on site after a ride. Everyone is always so kind and they do a great job of matching you up with horses based on your experience. Even little kids.
