Having just moved into our new home following an approximate 18 month build process, we feel compelled to leave a note of thanks and admiration to the Lloyd Construction team for an amazing experience from first phone call to Certificate of Occupancy and beyond.With long roots in the Wood River Valley and a lifelong dream of moving here, we purchased land in the fall of 2020. Living in Connecticut and planning our move, the sale of our old home and coordinating varying phases of our Hailey build would each have been a daunting task in itself had it not been for the exceptional efforts, expertise and professionalism of Lloyd Construction. As first time home builders, we were a little behind the curve with regard to knowing all of the moving parts and coordination of efforts necessary. That being said, we knew that we needed a team we could trust and that had a rich history here in the Wood River Valley. Kevin, Ian, David, Dave, Justin, Toni and countless other members of the team walked us through each step and when questions came up (…and boy oh boy, did we have questions), the team was ALWAYS available to provide complete answers. We were provided with regular weekly updates with photos that highlighted what to expect, progress being made, and where there might be ‘hurdles/issues’ to address.We should probably add that we unwittingly chose perhaps the most challenging time to build, as the Covid pandemic created previously unforeseen challenges related to product availability, equipment scheduling, rising costs and subcontractor scheduling. Lloyd again, addressed each issue that arose with transparency and skill, and collaboratively helped address these challenges, which ultimately resulted in a forever home that exceeded all of our expectations.Shortly after we received our COO and moved in, we started meeting our neighbors and on more than one occasion were welcomed to the neighborhood and complimented on our selection of home builders. We were told that the Lloyd team always seemed to be on the job site working, the site was quiet and always clean. Lloyd Construction completed our home in 2015. Our experience was exemplary, culminating in the back cover page of the 2015 Best of Sun Valley booklet being a photograph of our house, and we continue to get rave reviews about Lloyd’s craftsmanship from everyone who visits.With the recent rapid increase in construction costs, we decided to contact our homeowner’s insurance company to increase our coverage limits. Their refusal to consider any increase without a written replacement cost analysis provided an unexpected opportunity for us to experience Lloyd’s commitment to continuing care. An email to David quickly brought a Lloyd team member to our home, soon resulting in a professionally produced replacement cost analysis, which we immediately provided to our reluctant insurer. Choosing Lloyd Construction was one of the best decisions we made while building our new home in Sun Valley.From the first proposal meeting through to completion, we were constantly impressed with their professionalism, experience, and attention to detail. As we were living three states away during the entire project, it was critical for us to work with a courteous contractor who had excellent communication skills - not only with us, but with the entire build team as well. Lloyd managed the project seamlessly with our architect, designer, landscape designer, as well as all the subcontractors.Because we received weekly project reports with photos and descriptions of the progress, which were fun and exciting to see, we felt confident throughout that Lloyd was managing our project efficiently and meeting our goals.Covid complicated our build with shortages and delays, but our team at Lloyd was on top of every small detail, and we only ended up 2 months behind schedule in the end. All issues were dealt with calmly, and flexible options/solutions were presented to us quickly to get the keep the project on track.It is clear to us that Lloyd Construction not only prides itself on the quality of their work and their reliable reputation, but they love what they do. They treated us like friends, not just as clients, and our home as if they were building it for themselves. Ultimately, their priority was for us to be happy with the end product. Everything about their work and the house exceeded our expectations!
