I've been a customer for ~20 years and until recently experienced outstanding service. Unfortunately my current experience highlights a decline in customer service. The process to replace damaged vinyl siding began Oct 2022 and was finally completed 2/8/23. Poor internal and external communication and a decline in technician standards were responsible for this frustrating process. I will not utilize this company for any future needs.

I called Cramer after watching the overflow of my gutters during a hard rain which led to my wet basement. Matt (rep) and Tony (installer) were phenomenal. They both took their time answering all of my questions. Matt explained how a properly installed gutter system would move water away from the house. Tony kept me informed during the install, as my questions continued. The results: a dry basement and huge savings as the new gutters may have eliminated the need to waterproof my lower level.Service: Gutter installation

I've had a consistently great relationship with Cramer and all the various crews starting with the replacement of a damaged porch roof several years ago then replacement of windows, a new roof, fascia, soffits, gutters, gutter helmet and most recently new siding this winter. t's been a total house make-over/rehab over the last 3 years, and a pleasure working with everyone from Andrew for specs and quotes to Rick on windows, the roofing crew, Cielo's siding/soffit crew and Dave (new on the team) who did a great job overseeing the siding job. It's important to be able to contact and discuss these projects on the fly, and everyone at Cramer has been very available and responsive along the way with each of these projects. BTW: for the first time ever, the basement has been dry even with our recent heavy rains. I suspect the gutter helmet has something to do with this. Had all of the windows in my house replaced with Cramer.The crew installed the windows leaving them dirty (with grease on them?) and quarter round not caulked. Asked to resolve, and they did.Two of the window frames were installed with large deep scrapes in the frame. Had to have those re-ordered and re-installed. Installers did not seem to bother to 'quality check' and rely on the customer to do this. Making it very awkward.Another window had a defect in between the glass panes, their crew has been out 3 times to replace, each time the "factory messed it up". One of the times they came, the installer did not bother to clean their shoes, resulting in the new carpets needing cleaned thoroughly.Explained my dissatisfaction with the sales rep and just had a simple apology and very little ownership of the process.I gave them two stars because they respond back, and continue to try. However, the lack of professionalism and quality in the production has left me with major regret on this purchase. Would certainly NOT recommend.Service: Window installation

This was regarding installation of a solar shade.After a year the shade began to fail.I called they sent a repairman out who took pictures and indicated some one would get in touch as he felt it should be replaced.The end of that very week I got an invoice charging me for the service and indicating the problem had been fixed.I notified them in writing and called them to let them know it was not fixed.Two months later, October 2020 three individuals came out and looked at the shade and agreed it needed to be replaced.It is now April 2021, I have had no further contact and when I call about this they do not return my calls.My recommendation would be to use anyone but Cramer as they have very poor and non responsive personnel.They simply do not seem to care about quality, customer service or responsiveness.I am left to assume I am stuck with this faulty solar shade.Thanks for nothing Cramer.

After a hail storm went through the area one of the door to door salesmen tried to enter my home without knocking or anything opened the storm then tried to open the front door as well luckily it was locked then I heard from a neighbor that the same person tried every door at their house not knowing the owner was inside witnessing this take place. This speaks volume to what kind of company they are 0 out of 5 stars

I recently purchased gutters and had them installed at my home by Cramer. I feel better communication between the different departments within Cramer as well as with the customers directly would go a long way to providing better overall customer service.My husband and I were pleased with the initial appointment. We got quotes from 2 other places and this was the best price and value.However, there was a significant lack of communication throughout the process. They had quoted us 6-8 weeks, but I had to contact the salesman at the 8 week point to ask how much longer. Not only did I have to reach out to him, but when he told me he'd be in touch the following day, he had forgotten and I, again, had to reach out to him for an update.When the appointment was scheduled, I asked Cramer approximately what time the workers would arrive at my house so that I could let my husband know since he was going to be home. I was advised I was first on the list and they would likely be there around 8am. At 9:30am, I still hadn't heard from anyone so I had to call Cramer. I was told that they should have been to my house and finished by now and that they'd have to contact them and get back to me. A half an hour later, I was called back and advised they'd gone to the second home on the list first instead of mine and that they were on their way to my home shortly.When the men arrived at my home, they knocked on the door and greeted my husband. However, when they were done, they did not knock on the door again or let my husband know in any way that they were finished. They just left. Had he had any concerns or issues with their work, my husband would not have been able to express it to them because they left without any further contact.I'm not saying that I would never do business with Cramer again. As far as I can tell so far, I was given a good price, a quality product, and the workmanship appears to be sound. I also like that Cramer offers discounts for returning customers. However, if I give Cramer another opportunity with a project at my home, I will expect better overall communication and customer service throughout or I likely won't continue working with them in the future.

I’ve gotten service from here recently by a man named Bo , I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in my life !! The man came during after hours which wasn’t was scheduled , though I had a bad feeling I still allowed him in my home because I needed it done . My husband was running a quick errand so I was by myself , I showed him where to go and told him what I have problems with . I then went into our family room and sat down continued watching my shows , Bo kept coming to me asking personal questions about my marriage and work which I was okay answering but then he had sat down with me and started watching the movie ! I had asked him if he was finished he said yes he’ll have to come back sometime this month , I proceeded to get up to walk him out and he refused !! Bo said he was going to wait until my husband with home , I sat back down and he kept trying to sit closer to me after I had asked him to leave . Ladies be careful !!

What an unfortunate phone call I just had. I needed a ball park quote in order for me to know whether I had a $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000 approximate job to do. (Another company is doing one for me just btw - and I spoke with a very pleasant and helpful person on the phone - so this CAN be done.) These people, however, wouldn't help until I closed on the house we are looking at. I need the estimate in order to settle our inspection report issues and I was basically refused a quote. The two women I spoke to were rude and argued above what I was trying to say. They need some customer service training badly. I will likely be putting new siding, new windows and a new sliding door on this property. But Cramer certainly won't be doing it. I have two other apartments needing new windows too - Cramer certainly won't be doing that job either. They don't even deserve one star quite honestly!

Cramer will always be the first call we make when we want to make improvments to our home. My husband and I are very happy with the service provided by Cramer. We recently purchased a home and got new windows, new roof, new gutters, gutter helmet and new siding all through Cramer. Our house looks amazing! Matt is a wonderful salesman and truly cares about his customers. Christine goes above and beyond to make sure the final product is nothing short of perfect and is wonderful at scheduling around our busy schedule.

I called Cramer Siding for an estimate to repair damage to 10 feet of my back gutter caused by hail and wind. I called Donna Tuesday and she scheduled an appt. for Thursday (today) at 10 a.m. There are good people (Donna and Chuck) and a good company in this world. Chuck showed up at 9 a.m., took his ladder out back and repaired the gutter, putting in new screws and drilling in 10 minutes. The gutter was apart from my house significantly. I CANNOT BELIEVE CHUCK FIXED THIS SO QUICKLY AND WITH NO HELP FROM ME. I still can't believe this GREAT service!! Thank you Chuck!!!!!!! He said they would bill me $35 for a service call! I had expected a estimate only, thinking they may have to replace the whole gutter (seamless running the length oi the house). I was shocked that Chuck took a look and fixed it!!!! In this world of chaos and disruption, I was thrilled to have someone, namely Chuck, do such a wonderful unexpected job for me. I can't thank him (and Donna) enough. Rick S. Champaign, IL

My review is a bit tardy, but I guess great service never goes out of style.In February of this year, I came home from work to discover my back door kicked in/destroyed and my home robbed. This is never a good experience, but the people at Cramer's, especially Kristy and Joe, were angels to me. I called them, half in tears, because of a demolished french door in the middle of winter, and they treated me with compassion and professionalism. They immediately came out, put a fast-track on the order with the door manufacturer, sent their installers out the day after the new door arrived, and followed up with me to see not only how the door was doing but how *I* was doing. I knew I was getting special treatment, but they understood the urgency of my situation.I told Kristy and Joe at the time that in this day and age, finding a company that is competent and professional sometimes feels like a stroke of good luck. But finding a company that treats its customers with such kindness is even more rare. Every step of the way, Kristy and Joe and the people at Cramer's treated me like a human being first and a customer second. That's the kind of service and the kind of company that I want to work with. I can't recommend them enough based on this experience.

My soffit needed to be replaced so I called Cramer Siding and Window. I got windows from Cramer back in '03 and if you're a previous customer you get a discount. They did a great job with the windows so I had no problem giving them my business again. Mike Stout was my salesman and he was very helpful. I got a good deal and the installers did a great job. I definitely recommend this company

We highly recommend Cramer Siding & Window because their employees are very skilled and professional, they use top of the line materials, they get the work done in a timely manner, they stand behind their products and workmanship; and most importantly, their customer service is outstanding. Brian Draher and Christy Summers take very good care of their customers, and they make sure that the customer is completely satisfied. They treat you like family. Roofers Curtis, Jesse and Anthony did a wonderful job on our home and even went out of their way to do a lot of extras. You can tell that they really care about their customers, and Curtis is a perfectionist. He will take care of your roof as if it were his own home. We had some additional work that needed to be done with the gable vents, gutter guards, soffits and fascia, and Brian and Beau also did a great job. We could not be happier with the end results. Worst customer service and they DO NOT respect women.Recently, I called Cramer Siding & Window Co for an estimate on getting new soffits. I knew that I wanted white, aluminum soffits. Pretty simple. Nothing special. Nothing fancy.While a number of other companies listened to what I wanted and then measured my house and mailed or delivered the estimate, Cramer refused to give me an estimate unless my husband was home. I asked why I needed my husband to be there. They said that HE needed to be there to make the decision. Huh? There wasn't a decision to be made. I explained exactly what I wanted, white aluminum soffits, just give me a price please. Didn't happen.I understand that if were were signing a contract for services to be performed, okay, he should be there. However, I feel it's unnecessary for him to be home for an ESTIMATE when all they really need to do is measure the house and then price it for the aluminum soffit. X number of feet of aluminum and materials+ X hours of labor=cost of project. Simple. They wouldn't tell me that info without my husband being there. Ridiculous.While relaying this story to a friend of mine, she said she had a very similar situation. She asked for an estimate on windows. A Cramer employee with a trainee shadowing him came to her house. She explained what she wanted and the Cramer employee asked for her husband to come outside and speak to them because, "You're not qualified to make that decision." Those were his EXACT words.My best friend's Mom had work done. She had siding put on. They PAID EXTRA to have it completely wrapped (meaning there were no seams at the corners of the house). When she came home during the project she saw that they weren't wrapping the siding and there were seams. The project manager argued with her and was EXTREMELY disrespectful telling her she didn't know what she was talking about and that she was wrong. She demanded that a Cramer supervisor come out and talk to her. He did, and in fact, she was right. They had really messed up the wrap and had to start over. After arguing with her and telling her she was wrong when SHE WASN'T, there was no apology. Yes, they did finally make it right but she shouldn't have been yelled at when they were in the wrong.Those three instances are upsetting, frustrating and ridiculous. Obviously their awful treatment of me, as a woman, is not a singular incident. I'm not some angry feminist, but they were disrespectful to me and two other ladies that are close to me.Of course I've shared this ridiculousness with friends and I've been told that the reason they require BOTH people to be there at the time of the estimate is because they use high-pressure sales tactics to get you to sign a contract immediately without getting estimates from other companies. Then, they sell your information to a finance company which constantly call you. According to my friends who have successfully gotten estimates, they're generally about 30% more than other companies.I still stand that they don't respect women because of their comments about my friend "not being qualified" to pick our her own windows, the arguing and yelling at my friend's Mom and my own personal dealings with them. Avoid this awful company at all costs.

I have both a door and windows from Cramer. The windows are great, but my door is a nightmare. It's ill fitted, the wind blows through all the time. There was only one person installing the door, even though it's a big, heavy door, which I thought was odd. Tread carefully.

Do not under any circumstances buy anything from this company. I had them build a sun porch and my dog scratched through one of the outside panels. To have a 2 1/2 foot panel replaced was $3600. They design it so they have to replace an entire wall and jack your roof up so they can make more money. I spent $14600 and it was the worst decision I ever made.

I had these guys put in all new windows and siding 4 years ago. I just discovered in the last week that the wall below both south side window is soaked and it even goes down into the carpet. When I called about it, they said it would be 3-4 weeks. This morning they called and apologized and would be out to take a look at it and take care of it. I guess they do stand behind their warantee.

Found out that their sales rep applied for 2 credit cards in my name after they were told we were not going to purchase their products.
