Amazing work! Right from the get go, Al was able to work with and help achieve our home renovation needs and vision. Throughout the whole process, Al had great communication and answered any questions and concerns we had. Highly recommend Chicago Custom Remodeling. We experienced water damage in 2020 and were lucky to find Al to help. Al is great to work with - had my countertop recently replaced in June 2018 from the dark granite to a bright and refreshing light white/grey finish. The difference is remarkable as you can see the pictures. Al is knowledgeabe and will provide you with suggestions if you're unsure or need help.

Al at CCR was wonderful to work with on our apartment bathroom remodel. He was up front with cost expectations and what could be done and my husband and I just love our new bathroom. The best relationships are based on trust. When it comes to your contractor, that’s even more true. Luckily for us, Al is one trustworthy guy and he gave us beautiful results overhauling the kitchen and master bathroom in our new home. This is the first renovation we’ve done, and we were a little nervous about how to proceed. Though we had a vision of what we wanted, Al was able to help us define it and clarify it. He offered honest feedback throughout that made us feel more confident in our choices, whether it was that he liked the color we chose to paint our kitchen or that our floor tile wasn’t the best match for what we were doing. Above all, Al is a complete perfectionist AND a creative problem-solver. If one little thing felt off, he couldn’t stand it until it was fixed. Whenever a wrench was thrown in there, Al had a way to fix it. Al is also very responsive and communicative so we were able to keep in touch throughout the entire process and feel good about progress. Our experience with the owner Al exceeded all expectations! From the moment I called to ask for an estimate I was instantly encouraged. I had Al and his team build out an ugly half bath (was actually a closet w/an oversized sink and toilet) into a beautiful full bath with a walk in shower. It required creativity to build out walls, fit everything into a small space and still look fabulous. It looked so good that adjoining kitchen suffered in comparison. So, I updated the counters and back splash for a small budget increase and now everything looks fabulous.Al and his team were a joy to work with. Very professional and dependable, cleaned up after themselves, respectful of my home, kept me updated and even let my dog out for her walk. I will, without a doubt, use Al again. I highly recommend his work.

Over the years, our powder room had become almost non-functional, and we really needed to get it overhauled this fall before the holiday season. Our son and daughter-in-law had recently worked with Al and Chicago Custom Remodeling for their bathroom and recommended them highly.We found their estimate very fair, and they had good ideas as to tiling, lighting, a new window, door and frame. The work was done expeditiously, with the only hold-up the window, which got caught in the current supply-chain delays. The result is a very clean looking, bright new powder room. My journey with Chicago Custom Remodeling started in August, when I was searching for a contractor that could redo my kitchen, floors and paint. This company came highly recommended by one of the bigger kitchen remodeling studios here in Chicago and I couldn't be happier that I made the call. Al came out on the same day with samples, walked the space and gave me insights on what I should be looking for.Once we decided that it was a good match, Al came up with a list of items I had to do, so I wouldn't feel rushed when the project started. He wasn’t finished until we were completely satisfied.When my rental condo flooded, I called Al to mitigate the unit and then asked him to do the rebuild. When we moved into our new home our plan was to completely remodel the kitchen: we wanted to take down a wall between the kitchen and the mudroom behind. In addition we wanted two windows added, new hardwood flooring, new cabinetry and a lot more!Al Zamm of Chicago Custom Remodeling was the most genuine and knowledgeable of all the contractors we met with - we are so glad we picked him. Al spent three hours with us during the consultation listening to our ideas and advising about practicalities. He was very realistic with us from the start; advising us not to stretch ourselves and get into debt with multiple projects in our home, but to focus on one at a time to allow time to save in between. He suggested we get a couple of other estimates for our own peace of mind - his honesty and integrity was refreshing from the start!Al informed us from the start of our kitchen renovation project that quality work takes time. We were very naive about the amount of work that goes into a kitchen remodel, but having watched the incredible transformation - and all the stages in-between (including complete removal of dry wall and ceiling) - we are so grateful for Al's perfectionist work ethic, and creativity. He is more than a contractor: he is capable of advising about design nuances that will ensure a superb finished product. We were constantly impressed by Al's talent; there seems to be nothing that he cannot do. It transpired that the wall between our mudroom and the kitchen was load-bearing (our home is 120 years old, and Al warned us from the start that he wouldn't know the exact scope of the work until he removed the wall). This created a lot of additional work, but Al's solution resulted in an incredible addition to our kitchen: a gorgeous wooden beam to hide the support structure which replaced the load-bearing wall, and which fitted perfectly into our kitchen design.Some examples of Al going above and beyond:- Spending hours with us one evening to get the electronic design right for our kitchen prior to commencing the work- Driving a four hour round trip to Michigan to collect our countertop to ensure there would be no seems when it was fitted- Walking our dog in the day when we were out- Adding a gas line outside for our grill whilst he was moving the gas line for the double oven- Helping us with multiple DIY projects elsewhere in the house when our expertise failed (putting up blinds, light fittings, wood trim, shelves)- Working longer hours than any contractor I have ever heard of- Working weekends- Getting to know our style better than we do, and therefore picking out better tiles and window casements that our original effortsAl is honest, extremely hard-working, and he has a great sense of humor. He will not leave a job until the customer is 100% satisfied, and his standards and expectations for his own work are very high. Although, Al's business model is the customer is always right, and to provide excellent customer service, we learned to be realistic with time expectations - great quality work takes time and it is not productive to rush him. Our finished kitchen was 1000% worth our patience to ensure that Al was able to get the best parts from the best suppliers.
