Do not give this business or its owner Sam Steven's any money. I gave this business a $4,500 deposit to perform some restoration work on my roof over a year ago. No work has been done. Sam refuses to respond to any of my calls, texts, emails, or letters from my lawyer. They have, in essence, stolen my money. I asked for references before giving them my deposit, so please do not be conned by Sam or anyone else representing this business.

At our condo association we had our roof redone a couple years ago by CityWide. Recently we have had a leak in our unit (we are the top floor). I called Sam to have him come out and look at it, he said he would be there either over the weekend or early the next week. That was July 5th and I have not heard from him once since then. I have texted, no response. Called multiple times, most of the were sent straight to voicemail or just not answered. The business phone has not been taking calls since then also (I told Sam about that and he said he would make sure it was turned back on).Update: the roof was not at fault of CityWide, but the communication was poor.

This company did not honor their warranty. We had a leak in our roof after we had them complete a roofing sealing job. He said he would be back to fix it since it was covered under our warranty and they completed ghosted us. Now we have ceiling water damage and have to hire a new company to fix what they wouldn’t. AVOID! Our HOA hired them to reroof our condo building. They stalled and stalled while rain continued to damage top floor ceilings. They took thousands of dollars and then said they couldn’t get the materials. Later they said they DID have the materials but stopped responding to our requests to schedule. Then Sam said he was sick…it was one excuse after another. They took our money and then completely ghosted us. We want our money back!!!!

LIAR, BUYER BEWARE!!! Sam is as dishonest as it gets. I agreed to a new roof and wrote a check for half the job without signing the contract yet. Then I read his terrifying reviews so told him that I changed my mind. He then called me back and asked what he should do with the check. I told him to rip up the check and he said it wasn't a problem. Next day bank called to tell me that he was trying to cash the check. Luckily they stopped it. SAM may look like an honest guy but he is shady as it gets. His reviews speak for himself.

DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. I called them because my roof was leaking in heavy rain. Firstly, the job was delayed on their end supposed to be scheduled for September but they didn't end up staying until late November. Second, my roof still leaks because they didn't put drip edge on the edge of my roof which any roofer will tell you must be on every roof and which I specifically asked for and was promised. They repeatedly said they would come back and didn't. It is now almost a year later and they are ignoring my calls and now I have to sue them to finish my roof which is STILL LEAKING.

Had roofing done less than a year ago paid cash. Gutter has fallen from house and has caused ice to build up in yard. Was advised since January someone would come out. As of today problem still exists.

Citywide did great work on repairing a big leak in my roof that ended up causing a hole in it. They came out and gave me a free estimate which I appreciated and they came out and did the work the next day fast and with great quality.Services: Roof repair, Roof damage repair

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!!!! The owner Sam and I agreed for him to come and fix my balcony and he and his crew started work in March just before the stay at home order. I paid half upfront and half was due when the job was done. They were unable to finish because someone called the police so they were to come back once the order was lifted. They left the trash from my balcony in front of the building for 3 days before finally coming back to get it. Once the order was lifted Sam said he would come back and finish about 5 times but kept not showing up, so he basically abandoned the job. Then he said he would give me a refund but it turned out he was LYING about that because no money has come back to me. They DID NOT do half the work yet he has kept the money I already paid him so I consider that to be THEFT. He left it up to me to assume he wasn't going to honor the contract we both signed and finish the work because he just kept not coming when he said he would. The company is trash and anyone considering them should look somewhere else. I guess the only good thing about this is Sam the owner had a creepy/rapey vibe so at least I don't have to deal with that anymore.

In light of COVID and the storms that pass through Chicago a couple of weeks ago, City Wide was about to connect with us and work within their schedule to fix 2 holes in our roof and a damaged gutter from a fallen tree. They responded quickly to our initial request, and when it came down to actually doing the work, they exceeded our expectations, even to trying to match our custom shingles. Although we were at the mercy of a few roofers, due to needing to get this repaired before the rain, we felt like the price was fair. They arrived in masks. They came prepared with the right tools to do the job, and their payment process was modern and seamless. While we hope to not need roofing anytime soon, if we do, we will be reaching out to them.Services: Gutter repairs, Roof repair

Sorry to have to update this review. But after our original repair with citywide roofing our gutter corners kept leaking. I called the owner many times, he’d answer and tell me to text a pic, and he kept ghosting us. I would avoid them for any gutter work given we still have the issue we asked them to repair.

HORRIBLE! Quality and craftsmanship was poor. We still have leaks. They broke trim, railings, siding, etc. and never replaced. They randomly threw debris and tools off the roof almost hitting me and my neighbor with a pitchfork! They killed numerous plants by smashing them debris. Their idea of cleaning up was to take a leaf blower and blow everything into my garden and lawn, and they didn’t even do that well.PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!If you would like more specifics (I have them!) please reach out. Worst experience working with this company.I worked with the owner Mr Archie).He repaired my flat roof less then a year it started to melt ) Very bad quality of work.
