On a cold Saturday afternoon I discovered that my furnace was not working. Yelp sent out my request for help and I got an immediate response from Hero Air. Vladimir came out later that same evening and fixed the furnace. He was prompt, straightforward and clear in his communications. He explained what he was doing and replaced a broken part in the furnace. He charged a very reasonable price - particularly in light of the fact that he came out on a weekend evening. Hero Air is a family owned business and I was pleased to give my business to them. I would recommend them without reservation.

Vladimir was first very responsive, respectful and knowledgeable. The call was for our non operating AC unit. With in 30 seconds of looking into the furnace closet he noticed a large flaw in the connection of the hot water heater exhaust, could be very dangerous for CO2. The unit below had the same issue. Our AC was also repaired quickly. Very pleased with his service and highly recommend!!

I need to update my review from the 5 stars I gave HERO before to the 5 stars I am giving them now. . A while ago, I entered into a service agreement with a different HVAC company, which meant they were going to do seasonal inspections of my furnace/AC. They started calling in January to come out and really pestered me to set a time. I was trying to figure out why, since they had already been paid for the inspection through the service agreement. Now I understand: when he got here, the service man inspected my furnace and proceeded to tell me that it was emitting carbon monoxide at dangerously high levels, so much that he turned off the furnace and slapped "Danger" stickers all over it. I was terrified because I have family and my grandchildren here all the time. He told me he could fix it for $3500 but I had to agree to the repair immediately THAT DAY. He also asked if I "had a husband around who could take a look at it". . It didn't make sense to me because the furnace is pretty new. Also, I've got a carbon monoxide detector and didn't have any alarm going off. I trusted my judgment, thank goodness, and called for a second opinion from Hero, who came immediately and did a thorough inspection and showed me normal CO levels. I will never use anyone but HERO. Skilled, reliable, reasonable, fast.

Of course, it was a Sunday when the boiler broke down in my two flat. Of course, it was January. I needed help fast. After calling around, I found Hero Air, and was impressed by their reviews.. They had a very reasonable rate for Sunday service comparable to others, and were able to coordinate with my tenants and get out fast. They had to return the next morning, but got the boiler fixed quickly and explained everything they were doing along the way (with pictures). My tenants were very relieved and grateful.

Two thumbs up for Vladi and Hero Air!!I have had a recurring furnace issue, decided to look for a different HBAC expert and decided on Hero Air based on reviews and proximity. Returned my call in less than 10 minutes, got on the schedule for the next day and the furnace is returned to good working order. Vladi’s communication was great, explained what he was going to do and got it done at an extremely reasonable rate. I will be calling Hero Air for any future HVAC work!

Hero Air team fixed our old furnace for a reasonable price after three other quotes only tried to sell us a new furnace. Months on it’s still working great though negative degree weather. They were easy to work with, very responsive and quick to schedule. Couldn’t recommend enough above other bigger Chicago HVAC companies that just want to get you to spend.

I needed a thermocouple replaced quickly for my boiler. I called Hero Air on a Monday night for a Tuesday service call. I have use them in the past with great service. Vladimir said he was booked for Tuesday but would try to stop if he had time. I was ready to try to tackle the job my self when I got home from work @ 7:30p. Vladimir called by 4pm and said he was 5 minutes. He replaced the thermocouple quickly and called me back saying my boiler was up and running. My in-laws were happy and warm again. For a couple of weeks, our furnace was acting up and blowing cool air. I had another larger company out multiple times to check it out. Each time they got it going, but the fixes never lasted more than two days. So I gave up on them, and landed on Vladi and Hero Air after reading everyone else's reviews. Vladi responded immediately, and was at our place within a couple hours. He quickly diagnosed the problem, found the part he needed, and had everything up and running the same afternoon. Part of the fix, however, involved a smart thermostat that was also on the fritz. No problem, right? Well, after swapping out the thermostats, I still needed to go get a new one. Of course, being NOT an electrician I managed to screw that up. So I called Vladi again. Again he got back to me immediately, and within 10 minutes, he had everything fixed and installed. All at no charge for the second trip over. I could not recommend Hero Air more highly. Elite service.

I had a carbon monoxide scare a few days ago (all alarms ringing and no smoke/fire…) and when other HVAC/Furnace companies were telling me they come a few days later (assuming I would not be dead!!!) Hero Air dropped everything, told me what to do came within the hour. The fixed the faulty sensors, and noticed my furnace had not been installed properly. The fixed it all, and registered the furnace for me.They took the CO threat seriously. They were courteous and left the place spotless… They took the time to explain everything to me and went beyond what I was expecting. I wholeheartedly recommend their services.

Vlad came out to look at our furnace after we had a gas leak - he was able to come over only 20 minutes after I called! He inspected everything very thoroughly, explaining in detail what he was doing, and even doing some extra work to clean things out to make it run more efficiently. He also pointed out something that will become an issue in a year or two. He answered my questions, and gave me some advice about a little DIY project with the furnace vents. It turns out the furnace was working fine, but I was impressed by his knowledge and communication skills. When I thought of more questions the next day, he even took the time to call me back and talk them over. He will be my go-to guy for any HVAC issues in the future!

Hero Air is the best. I recently hired them to replace my central A/C and furnace in my 3BR condo. It was a tricky job in a small tight space. Hero Air gave me the best price out of 3 proposals. Vladimir explained everything to me so I felt comfortable. They finished the job in only 1 day. They also avoided opening up my kitchen ceiling, saving me a thousand dollars in drywall / painting repair cost (the other proposals required this). My new A/C system works great. Can't say enough about working with Vlad and his team at Hero Air - I'm a Carpenter and needed to install a high velocity system in my house. Vlad worked with me to make it happen, we ended up working together to install the Spacepak system and he was great to work with. On time, always answers the phone, hard working, and detailed. It's an old house so it was not an easy install for us but Vlad was 100% dedicated to making sure it turned out well. Having AC now is in a 100 year old house is amazing! Thanks Vlad!

Update Feb 2024. Hot water heater died on Friday and I called around to a few places. No one could come right away so I called Hero on Monday. He was able to install a new water heater on Tuesday!The furnace that had been in my condo when I moved in finally gave out. I had Hero Air come in to replace it with a new furnace. They provided a couple options - I picked one and they installed it. It came included with a warranty. And then recently I had a gas leak in my house. I had thought that it might have something to do with the furnace so I called Hero Air. They recommended that I reach out to People's Gas to check for leaks. As it turned out the leak was actually in my fireplace. However, throughout the whole process Hero Air kept checking in to make sure everything was ok and actually came out to double check that there was no issue with my furnace after the fireplace leak was fixed.
