Every aspect of this process was practically painless. I requested a quote from the website. Within a matter of days I had Damian at my house taking a look at the project. He did not try to pitch some huge, expensive deck project. Instead, he listened to the requested change and handled the rest from there. My old deck was functional, but not useful beyond being steps into the house. Thanks to Damian and his crew, my old, impractical deck was removed and replaced with a wonderful new deck in just 3 days time. We hired Koval to do repair work on our roof deck and I genuinely could not be happier with the result. From the first moment they stopped by to do an estimate I was struck by the professionalism, integrity, and know how of Tom and his crew. And, once the work began, Tom went above and beyond to not only complete the work on time, but to address and repair problems that arose as he started that work. In the end, he and his team not only did all the work we hired him to do excellently, but additional work he discovered along the way which he felt needed to be done to complete the job to his satisfaction. Still, he remained true to his original quote and finished the work faster than originally expected. Truly an exceptional experience which I'd recommend to anyone.

Three years ago we had them do our back deck. They were no nonsense, and got the job done in a timely manner. We needed our front stairs done this year and again great service and done quickly. Needed a new front porch and contacted Koval to give me an estimate!! Mark came out within a few days and gave me an estimate on the spot. No game playing. To the point and fast. So he saw the condition of the porch and what was suppose to take up to a month for them to come our, he expedited the job and finished within six hours!! Two days and only six hours! I knew Damian and Koval Builders were the right fit for us from day one. After getting 5 other estimates for totally replacing our 3-story porch, Damian was the first to come up with solutions for every problem we were having with our old porch. Later, during the construction, he had fixes for every issue that arose. Besides being a problem-solver, Damian is hard-working, honest and collaborative, which was much appreciated. His crew matches him. They justifiably take pride in their work. The porch design is rock-solid and thoughtful. It looks terrific. We have Damian to thank for the added partial roof on the third floor (his idea), which we’re enjoying every day. We live in a 3-unit condo building, and my 2 co-owning neighbors are as pleased as I am. We couldn’t ask for more. Koval Builders is highly recommended.

Damian came to do a bid on a porch for my recently purchased 2 flat. He was fair on his pricing, but what I especially liked and why I picked him, was his optimism to get the project done and do it right the first time, as well as his aggressive goal oriented payment terms. (he was willing to hold back a small portion of payment until porch passed city inspection) which no other contractors would even consider. Very impressive.Damian completed the porch ahead of schedule and quicker than expected, the permit process was seamless and fast, I was very surprised with, and very happy. No project over runs, no fuss, cleaned up their mess at the end of the job, every night they secured the work-site. Damian was quick to communicate with me via email and text.The inspector came, he had an adjustment that he wanted Damian to make, Damian came there that same day and the adjustment was complete, porch was reinspected and passed with flying colors.I'm very happy with Damian's porch, it's built very sturdy, with good quality wood and metal, and workmanship and it feels like it will last a long time. I will use Koval again for my future porch renovation needs, and have already recommended them to friends and neighbors.

I selected Koval Builders from five bidders to replace my old back yard deck with a new one from composite materials. Their price was fair, in my opinion, and Damian and his colleagues were professional, friendly and responsive. This was also the case during the project execution. Damian's team handled everything, including obtaining permit from the village, building the deck, and inspections. Mark and Ted, the carpenters, did a great job building the deck. Project was done without interruptions. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and my wife and I are happy with the new deck. Thanks to Damian and his team.

Damien does quality work at a reasonable price. He does not sub-contract and certainly does not cut corners. He will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and refused to take his remaining fee until it passed city inspection. Kept our yard clean and even came back to fix a few small things. We had an ugly, not-so-sturdy deck and found Koval Deck Builders online and requested a quote. They came to quote on Saturday, started construction on Wednesday, and were finished the following Tuesday! The deck is beautiful and was built exactly how we wanted. I asked about making it bigger - Damian said no problem. Asked about putting on a pergola "no problem". Could not be happier with quality, the design, and the responsiveness.

I had Mark out to look at repairing an old porch floor on my Victorian house. He said that I wouldn't be happy with repairs and should consider a new Douglas Fir floor. I went with his suggestion and I'm so glad that I did. It's absoultely beautiful!One small issue during installation, but they inspected it and made it right. I highly recommend them. We've been dealing with contractors since February trying to improve our exterior--with varying degrees of satisfaction. Our interaction with Koval has been the best of all our interactions. They followed our design and instructions exactly and built us a new pergola, back deck, and front porch. Koval provided a fair estimate and put us in line to do a porch project after paying our $5000 deposit. We were told that the project would start in July, then that changed to August, then September.They then asked for money for materials they ordered. October is here and nothing has been done and they are unreachable and we don't even have anything to show for the deposit we paid. When I read other reviews, the common denominator appears to be that anyone that gets to work with Damian has a good overall experience. Anybody that does not, has experiences that are similar to our's, so if you go with Koval, please note that depending on who you get assigned can greatly determine your outcome. Our experience has just been excuse after excuse and delay after delay. It can be easy to understand being off by a few weeks or even couple of months (to begin work) but being off so much as to now not having a definitive time when several previously were provided is just wrong. The deposit is likely lost and unrefundable so good on them taking it and not having to do any work.Service: Porch construction

The workmanship is phenomenal and the materials used are high quality! 👍My deck is better now then when it was first built. Damien didn't cut any corners. Please, for the love of god, stay away from this company. They have been absolutely horrible to deal with, and they are taking no responsibility for the issues we had.Firstly, they market themselves as a construction company, but this is false. Koval is only a lead generation company that farms out your requests to contractors in the area, they don't do any construction themselves. When we had gotten our initial contract with someone other than Koval we asked about this, and they assured us that they all operate under one brand. However, when issues arise, they quickly remind you that they are not a building company and refuse to assist with any problems.Secondly, they are sending out your requests to contractors who they have not vetted whatsoever. When we were assigned a contractor we did our due diligence and googled him, and nothing came up. Later on, we discovered we were not given his real name. Once we discovered this, we did our research again, and surprise, our contractor had been arrested in 2019 for failure to build a deck after taking their money, tearing down their structure, and never returning....This brings us to my current issue. This how now happened to us. We own a unit in a 3 flat. We worked with Koval and they assigned us this contractor. We gave him our deposit, as well as more money for materials. He came in March to tear down our decks and begin construction, and he has not returned since....we have reached out to Koval multiple times to help right this issue by assigning us a new contractor. Most of the time, they don't even respond to our emails. When they do, they tell us it's not their problem. This is horrible customer service, and shady at best business practices.Just avoid them. There are plenty of other general contractors in the city to deal with that will result in a lot less headaches and financial hardships.Service: Wood deck construction

Guys from Koval Builders have rebuilt our front porch, and they were fantastic. The team was timely, easy to talk to and a pleasure to deal with. They were creative, patient and professional. They delivered exactly what we discussed, their price was competitive and there were no unwanted surprises. The end result is outstanding, all our guests are blown away with the beautiful, new porch. Can’t imagine having a better experience hiring a contractor. I highly recommend this company, don’t hesitate if you’re looking for reliable porch contractors.

I hired Koval to remove an existing deck and replace it with a new one on a bungalow, and am very happy with what they built. They were very good about keeping the process moving - the architect came promptly, the permit process went smoothly, and they conducted the tear down and construction over a shorter period than expected (actual construction was less than two days). They were also very good about adjusting to an unforseen problem associated with the old deck and around a buried conduit - I appreciated their schedule adjustments and working around/with another contractor. I also appreciated that they accommodated my requests for printed/signed paperwork. They and their architect also produced a plan/drawings to remedy a drainage issue the old deck had.The actual deck they built is quite nice - I've gotten a number of compliments on it in just a few days. Their attention to detail is impressive particularly in a relatively small job.Their pricing was competitive with other estimates but not particularly high or the least expensive.Overall based on my experience I'd strongly recommend them.

Our front porch and stairs were in very bad condition and it was in need of complete repair. We found Koval builders and dealt with Damian who was very professional and knowledgeable from start to finish.
