Tan's repaired our roof following a leak. I found the team via Angi. Their responsiveness was excellent following an initial misunderstanding with the Angi connection. They were able to come give an estimate the week of our initial contact and repaired the roof the first available good weather day. They shared before & after photos and offered a warranty on the repair work. I recommend Tan's if you want clear communication and speedy repair work!

We needed a replacement roof, joist repair, and new sheathing+insulation on our 3-flat building here in West Town just outside of Downtown Chicago.Larry and his team were great with communicative & very professional. When they opened up the roof they found more damage than expected, but promptly sent over photos and gave a fair quote to do the other work as well as educating me on why it needed to get done.His team in the field, including foreman, were kind, clean and cared about their craft. I would hire them again in a minute and would recommend them to anyone looking for any/all things roofing.

We recently had the flat roof(s) of our townhouse replaced/altered by Tans' Quality Roofing. The quote and work were timely (work complete before another firm quoted). Larry Tansy is very responsive to phone and Email. The job foreman (Gene) was knowledgeable and communicative. By coincidence, he had replaced parts of this roof for former owners in 2011, and shared 80 photos of that job. As a result, our work changed to less replacement, and more modification for upcoming HVAC work, in that area of the roof. Other sections had not been previously replaced, and were replaced per contract. Due to past roof damage, all areas of rot were fully replaced, including sistering a truss that was impacted. Gene does not do work "half-way". Larry submitted a revised bill, adjusting for the extra work performed, and crediting for the quoted work omitted.One portion of the work could not be completed due to a commercial-grade slider that needed to be removed to allow proper flashing underneath. After a few months locating a company to perform the window work, Tans' was very responsive in scheduling a coordinated effort within a few days so that the slider could be removed, roofing completed, and slider replaced in one day. When more rot was discovered under the slider, Gene showed up again to supervise repairs.Service: Roof repair

We got estimated from 5 different companies. We chose Tans because of several good reviews, could handle the related masonry work without having to subcontract it out, many Angie's List awards, and our estimator (Adrian) was so calm, honest and friendly. We are quite pleased with the final product and the process it took to get here.We found Larry to be fair and reasonable when negotiating costs in the beginning. There were a few opportunities to upsell us on gutters and they did not take it. In fact, they made some repairs to the gutters to extend the life. Other roofers told us the plywood underneath was bad, but the Tans crew showed us that it was mostly fine underneath. There was no attempt to upsell us there either.They uncovered a few other problems and sought approval for the additional work before they did it. They were very thorough and documented their process with dozens of photos.It was a stretch of heat in the upper 80s, so we put out some beverages for the crew. They were all very respectful and wore masks and left the basement bathroom we offered and wonderful shape. They worked quickly and were communicative throughout the process. There might have been one nail or two hiding in cracks, bit otherwise they completely removed all roofing debris before leaving.I really don't know what else I could have expected. It was great. I'm looking forward to the first big rainstorm to test it out!Service: Roof installation

I only gave 1 star because 0 was not an option. This is a very dishonest company. They messed up the roofing job on out house. Even though they said they would come and fix their mistakes, they kept cancelling and stringing us along. They have no interest in doing quality work. Don't use them unless you like throwing money away.
