I would highly recommend talking too, and if you choose, working with, the folks at Urban Rooftop if you want to create a custom outdoor space that you will come to think of as an another room in your house. Mike, Jorge, Manny and team were skilled, professional, and great problem solvers when we ran into obstacles that we could not have know about until we began. They also followed up and corrected any issue that later arose. In general we demolished three decks and replaced them with three patios and built custom shade areas based on how the sun moves across the sky. The paver selection was great and all the material is of high quality stone, metal, cedar, and finishes. My only complaint would be that it took longer than expected, however don't all good things? If you are looking for a destination worthy rooftop, then Urban Rooftops is your best bet. Alex, the general manager, is experienced, smart, responsive and really delivers your dream and more. From the original concept to the final result, My wife and are were simply blown away. We also loved his team of talented workers who were more than willing to help us with virtually anything. I have had a lot of work done on my house and Urban Rooftops has been, by far, the best experience. It's never fun to renovate, but this team will make it worth the effort.

Urban Rooftops recently completed a project on the roof of my building including a pergola with a space heater, decking, stone fireplace, and lighting. My husband and I were incredibly happy with the final outcome and how everything looks. Urban Rooftops was very responsive during the whole process and the work that was completed by the contractors was exceptional quality. There was a delay in the project due to the permitting process; however, this was out of Urban Rooftops control. Anyone who is looking to enhance/remodel an outdoor space, look into Urban Rooftops to have it professionally done.

Urban Rooftops just finished our project and it is perfect. They added a roof, heaters and privacy walls while incorporating our existing outdoor fireplace. They also added privacy walls and decking to our upper patio. The whole process was seamless and the team was great to work with, even with us adding some things along the way. I used Urban Rooftops to build out my roof top deck. They came up with a fantastic design that suited all of my wishes. Alex helped and answered any questions we had, from beginning to completion of the project. They made the permit and inspection process incredibly easy. The final product included a veranda with fan, electrical heaters, and a space wired for a mounted TV. They also designed a lovely system to suspend hanging lights giving a really cool atmosphere on the roof. We are very pleased with the final executed product and the value of the work performed, especially in comparison to similar quotes we received. The process did take longer than we were expecting, but the crew kept the space clean and open during times they were not actively working on it, so we were still able to use the area during construction.

They scammed us. We worked with a designer and explicitly stated our budget and vision. They told us they would make a design within our expectations for an $800 fee. We paid the fee and set up a meeting to go over the design the following week.We showed up for the meeting and the doors were locked and no one was in the building. We were able to get ahold of the owner and said we would have to reschedule. He said there was a medical emergency, for which we empathize, but he never apologized for the inconvenience. The lack of empathy was very unprofessional.Once we got the estimate, it was double our budget. We expressed that the design was extremely over budget and asked if they could make a design within our budget. All they did was reduce the estimate by a bit, but still 70% over budget.At this point I was scammed out of $800. I expressed my concerns with the owner who confirmed that there was no way that they would get the work done within our budget. I requested to get my $800 back and have not heard back since.Service: Deck design

I used Urban Rooftops in 2022 for my deck design. I came to them with a unique space (75 ft x 6.5 ft) and they were able to come up with a thoughtful and unique design to fit the space. Anytime you will go to Mikes beautiful showroom keep in mind that he did not pay for my window and door installation in his building. His response was: You know, it's Chicago. I spend all budget money on other things. ( he know that if I will wait over 3 months after completion I will not be able to get my money back- he asked to give him more time, I trusted him).

Great end productive, but terrible business experience including lack of communication, delayed project finish, and informal invoice process riddled with errors. You pay a premium to use a company that does everything for you, yet working with Mike + team became a part-time job at the end. Again, happy with final product but you can likely find a similar offering with a WAY better customer experience.

We contracted urban rooftops for our building and urban took our money and basically has done absolutely nothing. We pushed them several times to get us info, permits etc etc and they did nothing. Total lack of responsiveness and action on their part. Honestly, never work with them.
