All it took was one phone call to get James Dechamps from Aegis to make it happen. All I had to do is just sit back and relax and let the amazing workers do what they do best, replace my roof and gutters. It was so frustrating dealing with the insurance company that I had given up. James took care of everything, and my biggest decision was to pick a color for the new roof. Extremely respectful of the property, very professional staff, constant communication with every step of the project and super friendly. I felt like I was dealing with a friend and not a company just interested in my business. I definitely will not hesitate to recommend James and Aegis Construction Group to all my friends and relatives. I had the pleasure of working with Matt D when I was referred by a friend due to hail damage in April. I am very pleased with my experience. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and gave some wonderful ideas for my roof, siding and gutters. He shared what options I had and how everything would work together. We experienced a horrific hail storm in April and had severe damage to our roof, deck and fence. We called Jim Deschamps from Aegis on a recommendation from a neighbor, and after talking with him along with several other companies, we decided to hire Aegis for our roof replacement. Jim was extremely responsive, thorough, professional, on time, and organized - he came to our home many many times to ensure that everything was being completed as planned. Our roof was replaced quickly and within one day, and the crew did an amazing job cleaning up after the job was done.Our new roof looks great and we are so happy with the roof and the entire process. You can tell he truly cares about his customers and a job well done. He came along with a team member to do an initial inspection, gave us an overview of next steps and became the middle man with our insurance company so we didn’t have to go back and forth ourselves, what a relief! We have a 100 year old bungalow in Chicago and had a couple layers of roofs on it with some leaking, so this new install was beyond needed! The install team was friendly, efficient, and cleaned up perfectly - they were sure to check the neighbors yards / area as well. A project manager came a few days later to do another check as well! What a wonderful experience we had with Aegis Construction, after getting several estimates from others with very hard sell sales pitches. Not only did Aegis give us a reasonable estimate, Howard Binder went above and beyond helping us know exactly what we needed. The gutters were replaced and new one with the filters for leaves put in. Very efficient, left the surrounding yard area immaculate. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing or wanting to replace/upgrade their existing gutters. It pains me to share my unfortunate experience working with Aegis: apparently, the company's quality of work and their 10-year warranty is worthless.I recently purchased a home that just had their roof replaced by Aegis. After six months, I noticed a leak in my and my wife's bedroom that was staining the ceiling. Being just a couple years into a new roof and having the 10-year warranty in hand, I was confident that Aegis would resolve this issue rapidly. While the Office Manager was kind and relatively available when I called, Aegis claimed the leak from the roof wasn't their fault and only offered an option where they charge me an additional $1,600 to fix their faulty work.According to Aegis, the source of the leak is a rusty attic fan that Aegis claims the previous owner chose not to replace, though they offer no written proof of this decision. I am left to wonder if I'm getting swindled, and they are only offering to fix it at a cost to me alone.Despite their lack of transparency and proof (not to mention very slow response - we're talking months of waiting to hear back from Ken), I offered to meet them part way: I'll pay for parts / supplies, and I've asked that they pay for the labor. However, "because it's so busy" with new business, they won't negotiate and even only offer to have a third party complete the work.Incredibly disappointing response from what once appeared to be reputable organization. As I've told them, they have now left me with the option to go public with my experience.Sad to find another business that only cares about quantity ($$) over quality of their work. I expected more. I shouldn't have, and I hope you choose another service provider.
