We have a 1920s brick home in Oak Park that, like so many houses of that era, has concrete roof tiles. Few roofing companies have the expertise to deal with problems that inevitably arise with these kinds of roofs. They will either pass on the job or suggest replacing the concrete tiles with asphalt shingles. It’s true that asphalt shingles are a fraction of the cost, but they come with a major change to the look of the house.Our garage developed leaks that had to be addressed. I talked with several roofing companies, but was not confident that any had the expertise necessary to do the work. I asked a neighbor who had some work done on his roof, and he recommended Perun Roofing.Slavi Yanev quickly came to our house to inspect the roof (I was apprehensive about that too as it’s a big no-no to walk on concrete tile). Slavi floored me by pulling out a drone to do a comprehensive inspection of both the house and garage roofs. He then showed me detailed pictures of exactly where the problems were and took the time to explain exactly what he would to fix them. Being a long-time DIYer, I know when someone is blowing smoke, and Slavi was not. He was the voice of experience with concrete tiles.I hired Perun to do the job on the assurance that Slavi himself would be involved. He did a fantastic job that included replacement tiles he got from a salvage company, proper flashing, and new gutters. He also replaced a couple of tiles on the main roof along with some minor repair work, all without extra charge.Slavi came in on budget with high quality, professional work. Needless to say, we have experienced no leaks since. As a bonus, he is a fun guy to talk with. I highly recommend Perun Roofing.

We had a great experience working with Slavi. He replaced the copper flashing around a chimney and repaired a copper downspout on our 1910’s Oak Park home. We appreciated the close attention to detail that comes with working with a small company like Perun. The cost for the work was comparable to quotes we received from larger companies. We plan to hire him to do work for us in the future.

Slavi did a fantastic job. He repaired our tile garage roof and a large section of the tile roof on our house - Slavi really knows his stuff, especially with tile and specialty roofs (which isn’t easy to find)! Slavi worked on a portion of our century old home’s tile roof as there was a leak which caused some of the wood to rot. He repaired the affected area and installed a new water/ice shield to prevent future damage from occurring. He also cleaned our gutters earlier in the season. I appreciate his professionalism and most of all, his ability to explain the work that needed to be done and provide progress photos and updates as he did the work.
