We recently purchased our home in this June of 2023. I called Homestead to have them come out to make sure our wood fireplace was in good working condition prior to lighting it up for the first time, and to give me pointers as this is our first fireplace. Cody and his co-worker Dylan were absolutely fantastic in making sure everything was working, and helping me with my questions to make sure I am comfortable and confident in working it. They got up on roof to make sure everything was good there also, when Cody came back in, he even said he found a piece of red felt where Santa must have left on the chimney! Again, cant speak highly enough of these guys! I highly recommend them for work and advice! Super glad I called this company! Will be calling next year as well prior to the Winter of 2024 for service and possible cleaning!

Cody and Dylan came over on time and got straight to work. Cody stated the chimney was pretty dirty (he was right & had been a few years since cleaning🤦🏼‍♀️), but it would be no problem. They took the time to lay plenty of drop cloths down to protect the area from soot & dirt and even covered the vacuum so the soot wouldn’t fly in the air from the vacuum. When I asked him about the vent thingy, he took the time to explain the outside vent to me and how it worked and reason to use it. While doing this, he found it was stuck and repaired it. He also noticed when coming inside that my gutter was dripping water onto the front stoop and offered to attempt to stop the drip. He climbed up his ladder and used silicone caulk to stop the drip that was causing dangerous ice buildup on the stoop right outside my front door. Talk about going above and beyond… These guys know how to run a business!! I’ll always be calling them for all my chimney work!! I appreciate their willingness and kindness. They also gave us “a piece of Santa” for my daughter that has Autism and still believes… Way to go guys!! 🌟😁

They were obvious cracks in the fire place bricks,yet they told me it was in good working order also all creosote and ashes are still in the chimney,look at the pictures

Cody and Dylan from Homestead Chimney Doctor were so amazing during our chimney check. Not only are they knowledgeable, kind, and professional, but they know how to connect with their customers. Our daughter was home with us during the inspection, and when they came down from checking the chimney, they found a piece of Santa's suit to give her. When I tell you that they made her day and got her hyped-up for Christmas, I'm not kidding. This kid hasn't stopped talking about it since they left. We are now wrapping up this piece of Santa's suit to leave out with his milk and cookies so Mrs. Klaus can sew it back on for him.They were fast, efficient and answered every question we had. They even asked if they could give our dog a bone before they left. Whenever I've had my fireplace serviced, it has always felt like a family member visiting. The professionalism and kindness is very impressive. This last time they came out, I only needed my pilot lit. They did it for me and ever so patiently showed me how to do it myself if it ever goes out again, and they didn't even charge me for the visit. This family business is not just in it to make a lot of money. Like most commercial businesses. The homey, small town feel will charm you. I highly recommend them!

Very professional, very kind, on time, knew what they were doing and gave advice and answered all questions. Got the job done quick with no mess.I will use them every season. This is the 3rd time that I’ve have used their services and I couldn’t ask for more, great job every time. Be prepared if you’re a Minnesota Vikings fan, because he is a Chicago Bears fan and will dish out some friendly competitive jokes all in fun conversation. Dan and Cody were respectful and professional. Have two labs and they can be very friendly but they took it in stride. Even had treats on hand for them! Taped everything off and did a wonderful job cleaning and inspecting my chimney. Did some free caulk work which was very nice. Am recommending them personally to a couple friends who need sweeping as well. Great father and son operation.

I highly recommend Homestead Chimney Doctor to everyone! I called to get a second opinion on the inspection we got from a different company. The first company wanted over $400 dollars to fix our fireplace to make it safe to use. Not only did Dan come out the next day but he said our fireplace is safe to use and does not need $400 dollars in repairs. They are very kind and professional! We are so thankful we found them and will be using them for all of our fireplace needs in the future!

But, the reason I was compelled to leave the review is because as he left he gave me a small red piece of cloth and said I found this in the chimney, might belong to Santa. 😉 Since he noticed I have small children and knew this would make their day (and it did!). These guys came out at the end of 2019 to do an estimate. I called numerous times throughout 2020 to get the liner installed. The owner was too busy doing sweeps and would get back to me. I gave it ten months since my last call to them on 11/18/20 and he still hasn’t called. I’ve since called back four times and was told they would call back to schedule something. No response. They apparently don’t need money and don’t value customers. I highly recommend looking for anyone else.

I called around for pricing. One other provider couldn't service my zip code, another never called me back. I think that worked out for the very best, however, because I couldn't imagine getting any better service for the reasonable price we paid. From the initial phone call, to the heads up call to apologize that they were running just a little behind schedule, to Dan's offer to clean our skylights while he was on our roof, to Cody's providing our kids with a few torn pieces of Santa's red velvet suit that he found while cleaning, Homestead Chimney Doctor far exceeded our chimney maintenance expectations. It's also great to see two generations working together, and that the business's future is in very good hands. We'll have them back to clean our chimney again in the future for sure! Thank you!

The gentleman that came to look at my chimney were so considerate. They worked quickly and neatly. They explained my fireplace (my first one) and even brought a little Christmas spirit for my 8 year old son. I don't want to spoil it, but it was unforgettable. We had an unfortunate experience with the "company" who installed our water heater. Long story short our home began to fill with Carbon Monoxide. Our gas was shut off, as the water heater wasn't venting at all. No one I called was available or even returned my calls until I called Dan and Cody they were very kind and after I explained the situation they said they'd come out the very next day! The news wasn't great though and our chimney liner was trashed and installed incorrectly. They went above and beyond to help us and I'd be hard pressed to find two people who are as gracious, altruistic and knowledgeable. These guys are amazing in so many ways I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Look no further for your chimney, fireplace and inspection services they truly are the best people!

These guys were great! On time, weren't in a rush. I had a lot of dumb questions and they had answers and were very nice people. They brought me some wood, a starter kit including a lighter. They did a great job installing my fireplace stove insert. I can't believe the amount of heat I'm getting from the insert. I use much less wood now. I would highly recommend an insert and have it installed by the Homestead Chimney Doctors.
