I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Community Exteriors. They replaced the roofs on both my house and my shed. I am very happy with the quality of their work. My claims specialist was Harold Zimmerman, and he is the best. He took care of everything himself, and I didn't have to do much at all. He was very patient answering my questions, was by my side when I called my insurance, was always available and helpful. I was also thrilled to see how well the workers were organized. They worked like a clock, everyone knew what to do and when. I am a "perfectionist" myself, and I can recommend the Community Exteriors to anybody.Services: Roof inspection, Roof installation

Read the reviews. These are the scummy roofers everyone warns you about. There are rumors online of them possibly manufacturing damage. Check them out on BBB -They will go as far to threaten to put a lien on your house if you don’t follow through with their broken contract that does not specify anything. They will call your insurance company and tell them to put their name on your check. (no one should be on the check but you or your mortgage company)Do your research and find a better roofer, they’re out there.

I recently had my roof replaced due to hail damage. Some gutter/downspout was also damaged and I decided to pay to have ALL of it replaced. This is my first experience with an insurance claim. I’ll admit that I was very uncertain at first, especially since they made the initial contact due to known hail in the area and they were not from my area. Due to their busy repair schedule I ended up having Field Supervisor Justin Lang here when the contracted insurance adjuster did the inspection. The adjuster denied the whole claim. Justin observed hail damage. After leaving for other scheduled appointments Justin came back and re-inspected the roof, making marks and measurements and taking pictures. Those pictures were sent to the insurance desk adjuster and based off of those photos and other information given the insurance approved the work, without even a re-inspection from an insurance adjuster. Justin knew there was damage and didn’t quit until it was approved. Partially because this is my first insurance claim I had many questions, and Justin was truly kind and patient throughout the process including my questions following the installation. I cannot say there were NO hiccups during the process but I do believe I have a good roof, gutters and downspouts that should last years without issue.update March 2024 - changed from original 5 stars to 3 - Justin is no longer with this company and I've discovered an installation "issue" when on a ladder trimming my decorative tree. Couldn't see it from the ground. When they installed the new roof and drip edge they did so with the old gutters still installed and simply cut out the drip edge around the old gutter brackets. Then later installed the new gutter, leaving these holes. The drip edge is not of sufficient length to meet the gutter leaving the fascia exposed. They say it's fine. I'm not happy. Terrible experience. They are the first ones that showed up after the storm damage. Said I had lots of damage and insurance would definitely cover a roof replacement. They sent someone out who took pictures and collected data. After following up with them several times they still have not submitted any information to my insurance. I guess they have enough business. They don’t need mine. They even called me and asked me what day they had been there since they couldn’t find the photos. Really unprofessional company. Several neighbors had their roofs replaced earlier this summer and were very complimentary of this company. I was also able to observe how professional the entire crew was prior to having them look at our roof.Evan Owens of Community Exteriors worked closely with my insurance to determine a full roof and gutter replacement was required. The rep (Evan Owens) from Community Exteriors knocked on our door a couple months ago. I typically do not agree to do business with this approach but I did need a new roof.After talking with Evan I made him an offer; I explained that I had acterrible experience with the company that replaced my roof in 2009. And he woukd do the inspection and work with the insurance company for a complete replacement, I would give Community.Bottom line, Evan did a very thorough job and and I was very pleased with the entire project.I would recommend Community without reservation. I can only think of one word to describe my experience with Community Exteriors. WOW. From start to finish I felt comfortable with their team and their process. Evan Wagner was very thorough at explaining the process to me, extremely punctual for appointments, and always kept the lines of communication open. If I called, he answered. If he wasn’t able to answer, I always heard back promptly. My wife and I had a leak coming into the house that we were really concerned about and they were able to tarp it to keep things safe, and finish the job in a timely manner. Initially, I was leery of working with a roofing company right after a hail storm. They all seem so shady at first (storm chasers). After my neighbor had a positive experience with Community Exteriors, however, I felt comfortable hiring them. Their sales person, Josh Cartwright, was always super informative and never pushy. He made sure the interaction with my insurance company (notoriously difficult State Farm) went smoothly, and their team of roofers and, later, gutter installers, were super efficient and professional. The roofers were in and out in one day and extra materials were removed from my driveway within a couple of days. We worked with Josh from Community Exteriors. This is our first home so we honestly are new to how everything works. Josh came to our door after a few hail storms and walked us through the process. After finding out our deductible was extremely high we decided to hold off until we switched insurances. After multiple hail storms this year in our area Josh came back to our home and helped us replace our damaged roof. We were extremely happy with Josh during the process. He would come to our house during each step and had great communication during the progress. We always new what was happening and what the next step was. This company does not do chimney repair. They put a roof on knowing that our chimney needed to be repaired. They informed me that they do not do chimney repair but that our chimney needed to be repaired. When I contracted a chimney guy Not associated with Exterior, they said that new flashing had not been installed around the chimney and they had to remove shingles around the area in order to complete the job right...which I was told would nullify the warranty. I was promised by Community Exteriors that I would get a leeway of 2 feet around the chimney on the warranty. But when the warranty arrived after payment, there was no mention of the 2 ft leeway on the warranty.....I have contacted Josh 3 times over a 3 month period and am still waiting for a warranty stating that 2 feet variance. Beware.... that if you have any doubts about your chimney’s condition don’t use this company. They are not equipped to do the whole roofing job. Josh was very helpful before the roof was paid for by our insurance company, but has not been helpful since then. I regret going with this company.I did get the warranty cleared up; so I increased the original response from a 2 to 3 star and am glad for that....but still would not go with this company again. (My insurance company did not cover the roof repair around the chimney the second time when that other company had to fix the chimney which I totally understand) But that could have been eliminated if Community did chimneys.Service: Roof installation
