Jeff Lathrop of Lathrop Contracting refused to honor his five year warranty for a roof that was installed in 2019 and refused to do in interior inspection of a leak that was noticed four years after installation. The leak was found when the bathroom ceiling began to decay. We would have never suspected a leak on a new roof. When we found the leak, we sent a picture to Mr. Lathrop and he came out on Oct 23, 2023 and inspected the exterior of the roof and refused to look in the attic where the picture was taken. After having several other roofing companies inspect the roof and quote the leak repair, we have found that this roof was not installed up to code, 905.2.1, sheathing requirements that require asphalt shingles to be fastened to solidly sheathed decks. Wood that was promised to be replaced during installation was either installed with large gaps or not installed at all. Several companies refused to repair the leak and recommended a total roof replacement after indentifying 5-7 other areas of concern. Inspections also revealed nail pops, low nailing patterns on shingles, and punctured shingles, allowing water intrusion. We paid for this roof in cash, not with insurance and believe that Mr. Lathrop did a poor roof installation, and refused to honor his word by working within his promised five-year warranty to repair damage. The business practices of Lathrop Contracting are unfair and unjust because he refuses to honor his word, and provides poor workmanship.

The Roundpeg building was in need of a new roof and Lathrop Contracting went above and beyond with their work. The team was incredibly professional throughout the entire process. The overall service was great and we can't say enough nice things about the crew. We couldn't be happier with our new roof!

Jeff Lathrop is honest, fair priced and does excellent work. He replaced my roof 2 years ago with great work. Then I had major siding issue that has gone on for the past 13 years at my house. Jeff and his team did a great job. He replaced a whole side of my siding. It is over 25 years old and he was able to match the white to almost identical to what we had. It looks great and holds up in the wind.If you need a good honest contractor for home needs, Lathrop is the way to go. We used Lathrop for a new roof, gutters and vents after a hail storm. They made the process very easy, doing their own inspection, then contacting my insurance to coordinate a meeting with them. They also facilitated the payments between me, Lathrop and my insurance. The job was a big one, but done in a very timely matter with efficiency. Quality very good and cleaned up after themselves very well. Scott was super easy to work with. Very clear in his explanations of needed repairs and again, taking care of communication with my insurance. I had some leaking around one of my windows and contacted Lathrop to come look at the house and quote the project. They were extremely responsive, identified the issue almost immediately, and were able to quote the job fast. Scott was responsive to any of my questions between signing the contract and the work actually being done. They gave me an accurate timeframe for the work to be done. We chose Lathrop for a number of reasons. Aside from being recommended to us by friends, their attention to detail in the sales process was hands down more comprehensive than others. My wife and I are planners, so we appreciated the steps Lathrop went through to educate, keep us informed and deliver a first class job. Scott and his team at Lathorp did a great job on our gutters and Chimney repair. I had a few people come out and tell me our Chimney just needed to be removed or completely rebuilt. Lathorp came out and said they could just repair it. They did a great job. It looks brand new. They were able to repair rotted fascia board and out gutters as well. A hail storm had caused quite a bit of damage to the home. Lathrop Contracting replaced the roof, put new siding and gutters on. Also, they fixed the garage door and the back door of the home. If you want a company who doesn’t listen to your real problem and just pushes replacing your gutters when a simpler solution would’ve fixed it, then these dudes are perfect for you. Because that was my experience. And really poor communication from the estimator. He kept telling me they’d be there, having me hang around and then did not call to inform me of delays or that they were not going to show. I was amazed by the excellent customer service we received starting with the quick response for a bid, working with the insurance adjustor, all the way to job completion. The work crew was incredibly efficient. We have a 4000 sq ft house. They arrived early in the morning and finished the job by sunset. Lathrop has performed several jobs for us. Repairing the chimney and adding gutters at our new home. Repairing a significant problem at the front door of our former home that was a result of shoddy workmanship on the previous contractor. Also they have replaced our roof. I totally trust Jeff Lathrop and his people to perform the job and to offer suggestions to improve the original job.

This is the third time I have used Lathrop Contracting for home projects. Lathrop replaced my roof and repaired a dormer when a tree fell on the house. This time, Lathrop replaced 80 year old wood siding on the dormers with James Hardie fiber cement siding and trim. Lathrop also replaced single pane windows and French doors with Pella simulated divided lite French patio doors and windows. I can trust that the project will be done right the first time with Lathrop. I posted before and after pictures of the dormers.

I called for an estimate he first tried to get me for $150 for an estimate then $75 for an estimate he said he wasn't going to give me an estimate unless he got $75 even though he was already looking at my place if I got $75 and estimate and I got 10 estimates a day $750 I wouldn't even have to roof if i got 750 a day it could be why he Drive's such a nice truck I cannot suggest this company to anybody there's too many companies that will do much better job for way less money
