Having built twice now, K&V was what we were looking for this time around.They have the process down- from designing the floor plan around your life to letting you know where you are on budget every step of the way, to following up with quality work. The contractors they work with have been great both during and after the build.They really put quality materials and they include things base line with their bid that makes the house more enjoyable to live in. We are incredibly happy with our home.

Colin was amazing to work with! We built 2 and a half years ago. We had no idea what we were doing and Colin walked us through, making it seem so easy. I wish could give more than 5 stars! Our experience with K&V Homes has been fantastic. They truly care about their work as can be seen in the quality of home that they build. Being from out of town, we were not able to be there as often as we had hoped during the building of our home. Dean assured us that he had everything well in hand, and he did. The process K&V uses stepped us through each portion of the build making it less stressful than we had anticipated. All our questions were answered in a professional, kind and understanding way. Providing excellent, quality subcontractors is also something K&V handles with pride and integrity. They were all easy to work with and their work reflects the pride and quality K&V put into our home. We are extremely happy with our new home and are proud to be a part of the K&V family.

If I could give them ten stars, I would! My husband and I were complete novices when it came to custom homebuilding and design, and K&V was excellent to work with every step of the way. We built a custom home with them in 2018 on a rural lot in Pleasant Hill, IA.They were attentive and informative, and never pressured us to sign a contract when we were deciding whether to build. They provided us with accurate, transparent, and helpful financial estimates, and we always felt in control of the budget. Our house was also completed on time, which was critical for us selling our old home. Perhaps most important, we were always confident we could trust K&V and their team. They stand by the high quality of their work , and still communicate with us more than a year after our house was completed.One story to demonstrate how great K&V is: During a walk-through, we had a verbal conversation about a design feature of the house. Something different was put in, and we started to worry because we did not have it in writing. We contacted Colin, who said "Yep, you are right - you wanted it a different way," and his team came back and made the changes with no additional cost to us. Can you seriously find a better builder than that? We would not hesitate to recommend K&V Homes!

K & V Homes is truly a custom home builder. I am a Professional Engineer and am pretty demanding in my expectations. We did a number of FOAK (First of a Kind) designs on our new home. Both Dean and Colin are patient, professional and truly work to make sure that you are happy with your new home. Many builders are not flexible but K & V were very accommodating to our wishes. Dean worked very hard to remedy any of our concerns and we are very happy with his efforts.

I was not looking forward to building a home for so many reasons (everyone has bad builder stories!), but Colin told me it would be fun - and he was right! K & V Homes has to be the best builder out there! I wouldn't ask for a single part of their process to be different. It was very clear from the beginning what our home would cost, what was included, what materials would be used, and roughly when it would be done. There was a timeline for how long each part of the build would take, and the work proceeded exactly as scheduled. It was clear when we needed to make specific decisions (flooring, fixtures, paint, etc), and working with the vendors K & V uses could not have been easier. Each time our bank released funds, I saw exactly what was being paid and how much it cost. There were no bad "surprises" along the way. The advice and experience Colin provided was excellent. Calls, texts, and emails were answered quickly. The house we have now is perfect for us, our family, our taste, and our location. Colin helped us get the house we wanted with the budget we had available. I would build again starting tomorrow - but only if we could do it with K & V Homes.

We were very pleased with K&V’s commitment to customers. Colin did a great job communicating from the very beginning. He actually answers voice messages timely, which is something some businesses do not do well. During our due diligence process, in attempting to find a builder for my mom-in-law’s home, other builders either never returned calls or did not seem enthused about building a house that would be smaller than average, and therefore less profitable. When Colin was informed of our goal to not spend a lot, he immediately answered, “We can work within your budget.” That was a very refreshing answer, one no other builder replied with. From there, everything worked really well. Colin is highly professional and his team of subcontractors treated his small-home customer and family with great respect. The team exceeded expectations on completing the home timely, with the project finished ahead of schedule without the sacrifice of quality. After move-in, when faced with the inevitable small fixes a new house has, Colin ensured quick turnaround on the work. We highly recommend K&V Homes. They are very dedicated to making customers happy, and the crew is genuinely devoted to professionalism and caring for people.

We had a custom home built by K&V Homes about 1.5 years ago and had a great experience. We worked with Colin King and found him to be extremely responsive and a great communicator. He stayed on top of all of the details and responded to texts and emails and calls within minutes or hours......not days. K&V Homes is what is on their trucks, but to us it is Colin and Dean. They got to know our family over our projects and what our family wanted. They helped us make a house our home. Their team was very professional and good to be around during all phases of construction for all members of my family, including our dog. If you are looking to build a custom home, don't look any further. K&V homes is a top notch builder. Dean led our build in rural Adel. From the beginning through the end of the process there was always an open line of communication. They are upfront on all costs at the beginning of the build and there were no surprises throughout the process. We have been in our home for 1 1/2 years now and we have remained in contact with Dean. Both Dean and Colin are exceptional people that want to put out the highest quality product they can at a price that is fair for everyone. They were also very patient and helpful when we had (many) changes we wanted to make, and had lots of excellent guidance along the way. Highly recommend K&V!!! These guys are the real deal!! We built with them 3 years ago and couldn’t be happier!! The best quality you can find!! Dean lead our build and was amazing to work with. Awesome communication and just an overall awesome experience.We have several friends that used other builders around the same time we did and they had numbers of issues. Some other builders don’t even want you on the job site while building, but I was out almost everyday on our build checking in on progress! I can’t imagine using a builder that doesn’t want you seeing the work they are doing.Another huge factor to look at when selecting a builder is how will the communication/customer service be AFTER you move in for any questions/issues that you run into. Once again Dean was amazing. We didn’t really have any issues but did have questions on things and Dean was always very responsive and continues to be today.I can’t recommend K&V enough. Again you may very well find a cheaper builder, but just know there is a reason for that!!

When we came to K&V Homes we had a budget, a plan, a property and were pressed for time to complete. Not being from this area we weren't sure what to expect but found out quickly they intended to make our ideas reality. Our budget was met, our plan was finalized and we were underway. Throughout the process communication was daily and Colin was onsite every day, even with a 45 minute drive one way out to our property. Completion time was exactly when Colin said it would be and he made sure we were completely satisfied before moving in.
