After interviewing 7 companies for our project, we hired DW Elite for our project and are thrilled with our choice. Dan was willing to take on our request for a Fortress steel frame deck with gable roof and that would support an outdoor kitchen. We loved that DW Elite employees completed the entire deck portion and gable roof without subcontractors. The team was respectful, neat and did perfect work with great attention to detail. They were meticulous carpenters, and worked every day that weather permitted. The design is seamlessly integrated with the existing house. Dan was responsive, patient with our questions, honest, and corrected anything we wanted changed. We feel confident that their work is of the highest quality and that no shortcuts were taken. DW did not perform the concrete or kitchen portion, but worked well with the landscape company we hired. Highly recommend and would hire again (though we probably won’t have to as this deck will last forever!)

Dan and his crew did an amazing job, we couldn’t be more satisfied with our decision to go with him. During the design process there was never any pressure to make higher priced selections, Dan only described the differences in materials, finishes and pro/cons. He listened to what we wanted and presented options for us to choose from. His crew has an incredible attention to detail, I can honestly say there is no imperfection. The job site was kept clean, everyday when they left it was as if they hadn’t been there. Waiting for warmer weather to paint is the only thing which remains.Edit: Posted new photos of the deck totally finished now that the weather was nice enough to paint, stain the posts and install the stone.

Just some examples:-Every decision and document has been clear and accurate-His guys show up on time, great at keeping us informed, fast and talented at their work-Dan holds his vendor and subcontractors accountable to very high standards-There were never any delays waiting for material or inspections. As a project manager myself, I was very impressed!-The very few minor problems have been resolved extremely quickly. I am very pleased with Dan and DW Elite Decks. A friend recommended him and after seeing her finished deck, I decided to also contract him to replace my deck. My goal was to have a maintenance-free deck. Dan was very good about making suggestions to help me see the possibilities. His recommendations turned out better than I expected. The on-site team, led by Tim, did a super job. They were always polite, kept working even through some nasty cold weather and completed the job, including all the cleanup, well within the time they said it would be finished. The old deck was removed including footings, new footings poured, and a new structure was installed in a week, which was very quick for the size of our deck. Dan Milford, owner of DW Elite Decks was referred to us by our painting contractor. Dan helped us design a new composite deck with powder coated aluminum railings and some new electrical fixtures. His construction team removed and hauled off our old wood deck and built our new deck in about 8 work days. If you want a deck builder that is reliable,and very high quality workmanship then DW Elite Decks is who you want. They took down my old cedar deck and replaced it with a composite deck. The guys on the crew are top notch,they work non-stop,even in this 90 to 100 degree weather. I've been around highway/bridge and commercial construction for years. Although this is residential and carpentry I could tell right away they knew exactly what they were doing and the finished product was super. This company replaced for us an old, beat-up, poorly designed legacy deck with a beautiful screened-in porch. It was a very positive experience. Pricing was competitive and the materials have proven to be excellent. This business has a single crew that does most of the work. (Electrical, roofing and painting are done by contractors with whom they have long-term relationships.) They only make decks and porches, and they’ve been doing it for decades. I found their judgement and attention to detail to be impeccable, communication was dependable, and there were no surprises or wasted time. Great quality workmanship and transparent pricing. I contacted DW Elite decks to do some spindle repairs and restain a 5-year old deck that was never stained properly. (First stain job was by a house painter that claimed he did stain work, the second by a large deck-stain franchise. Neither job was done well nor lasted as long as it should.) The quality of the materials used and the workmanship from the carpenters for the repairs as well as the powerwash and staining was excellent. Dan offered us some different options for railing down the road and was very fair on pricing. Wouldn't hesitate to use them if I were to build new or if I needed more repairs. Will use again when we need to stain again.

We had DW Elite replace our deck earlier this summer, and were very pleased with the final product. The owner, Dan Milford, provided us with a very detailed and professional quote, which we had no questions in understanding what he was including in his quote. Though they were not the cheapest quote, nor were they the highest quote.We went with DW Elite because they were very professional in their proposal and and all other contact with them. Also they carried a contractors license with Johnson County KS and were able to pull a permit with the city of OPKS to do this work. They are well versed in what is required by our city for deck installation. Also DW Elite carries all the appropriate insurances and has no problem with having their insurance company provide a copy of that to you.As for the work, I could not have been happier with the crew we had. They did an amazing job of cleanup at the end of every day, and for me that was very important. They kept all their equipment locked up in a trailer that they leave parked at your home, so there is no lugging stuff to and from on a daily basis. Work was completed in a week and the permit inspection was called in immediately after and we had a cleared permit within another week.I absolutely would recommend this company to anyone looking for a hassle free process and high quality professional contractor and final product. We would use them again should we ever need additional decking services.

We were getting tired of staining and re-staining our wood deck every 2 years and reached out to Dan at Elite Decks to discuss replacing it with a composite deck. I can't speak highly enough about their responsiveness, professionalism, and work ethic. After an initial bid, Dan met with me at their office to discuss options, never upselling but instead advising where I would get the best bang for my buck. They tore down our existing deck before we got our house painted, and then came back 3 months later to install the deck. Dan stayed in contact with me the whole time to keep me posted on timing.
