On perhaps the hottest day of summer my AC quit cooling. I called Hobbs in the morning. Tech was out late morning. They drove out of town to pick part up. Tech returned and he had the AC up and running in an impressive amount of time. Very courteous and knowledgeable employee!!! This isn't the first time Hobbs performed exceptionally!!! New Year's Eve!!! Heater had issues. Their office was closing early however one tech came out and got it running and warm! Extremely satisfied with all services provided!!! P.S. After purchasing our first home, we got a few quotes for installing mini splits systems in our upstairs and potentially replacing the rest of our system. We went with Hobbs to install a mini split in our upstairs because they were local and the lowest bid.Positively speaking, I will say that everyone I talked to was always nice and professional. The system they installed works well too.It ended up taking 7-8 weeks for this project to be completed once they started the install. From the get go, the guy that did the quote showed up almost an hour late and admitted he forgot to check his calendar. No big deal, but communication and showing up continued to be an issue throughout the project. They would frequently schedule times to come work and not show up, be hours late, or show up and say they didn't have the people/parts to complete the work. There were constantly excuses about things going on, being short staffed, ordering wrong parts, etc. which I understand. I just wish someone had communicated better with us. They almost never reached out to me, I usually had to be the one to call their office to make sure things were on track, otherwise we wouldn't hear from them and work would stop. At one point they told us they needed 3 people to finish the project, so they would have to come back when they had enough guys. I called to schedule that, and a week later they showed up and again told us the same thing, that they'd have to come back when they had enough guys. What was the point of scheduling it then? Even when they did show up, they were constantly in and out to go work on other calls. Which again, I understand, but we were just obviously never a priority. Finally it got to the point that I just kept calling multiple times a week so that they would stop pushing it off and it finally got done.This was a major inconvenience for us, and I wish we had gone with another bid. We were unable to work on or use our upstairs until it was air conditioned, which meant our baby could not sleep in her room and my husband could not work in his office. This lead to our daughter sleeping in our room which disrupted everyone's sleep. My husband wasn't able to work in his office which meant that I had to constantly try to keep our baby quiet or leave the house so he could use the phone. Also, all of the furniture and boxes we were waiting to move into the upstairs remained downstairs, so 2/3 of our house was rendered unusable for 2 months.I feel like this probably isn't the norm for the company and that we just had a bad experience. I understand that things happen, and if they had just communicated better with us we probably wouldn't have been upset.Service: Ductless heating & A/C services

HVAC technician Steven (sp?) performed routine service on my combo heat/air system today. He did the most thorough cleaning of the coils and entire unit, inside and outside. He actually took the time to do the job properly.Most employees of HVAC companies I have experienced do these routine service checks and cleanings as fast as they can, then rush off to the next job.I highly recommend Hobb's Mechanical and appreciate the quality of their work.Service: A/C system maintenance

Our furnace had a bad ignitor so I called Hobbs Mechanical and they got someone out the next morning. He arrived when they said and he was in and out so fast! Both times we've done service with them they have had the best customer service and the nicest technicians helping me out. Had my AC stop pumping cold air and called Hobbs. They were fantastic, even in these early summer months they had someone come by later that day and fix the problem. He also did some maintenance on my other AC unit. I really appreciated the fast service and the reasonable rate. Will use them again for sure!

We bought a wood burning stove from Hobbs. They did an EXCELLENT job on the install in a very old home. They told us how to take care of it, and gave us lots of information about safety and up keep. We also bought a pellet grill from them last Christmas. There has been a lot of operator errors with this grill! They have been patient thru my learning process and have even offered to come to my home to teach me. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
