I recently got in touch with Jeff for a tree-downing job, and he and his assistant managed to get it all done on the same day. This was impressive, especially since it was freezing out – we're talking below 30 degrees with snow and sleet! Jeff was really great at explaining everything, which helped me feel safe since the tree was pretty close to some electrical lines.He's also got insurance up to $2 million, which is reassuring. The job cost $500, but considering the bad weather and the risk near the power lines, it seemed like a fair price to me. All in all, I'd definitely recommend Jeff to my friends and family.

Just had Humbolt Tree service trim 3 large trees for me and was so impressed with their work. Here's why you should go with them:1. Such attention to details...over and over Jeff went back and looked the trees over to make sure that he hadn't missed anything. He also let us know that if we saw anything we felt should be trimmed that he would get right back up in the tree again to finish it...and he did. Everything was cleaned up...they even hauled off fruit tree trimmings that I had previously done without me even asking but knowing that if they didn't then I would be left with more work.2. Great knowledge on what is actually best for trees, I could tell that he had done his research.3. Pricing was cheaper than the competitors and I felt that they actually did more work than what the competitors would have done!4. A large tree fell into another tree over our fairly new cement patio and extremely close to our house. Humbolt Tree Service responded to my home in less than 24 hours and was able to cut the tree before it caused severe damage. They were extremely professional and very reasonable in price. I had a tree fall on the neighbor's fence and in his yard, and needed to get it out quickly. Humbolt answered my after hours call and came out the next morning, and worked hard in the heat and took care of the problem without damaging the fence or anything else. They cleaned up afterward, and hauled everything away, so it was cleaner afterwards than it had been even before the problem.

Review for July 6, 2020: Just used Jeffrey again for a fairly large job. Trimming up and cleaning dead from a HUGE maple, 3 elms, and a row of trees trimmed. Several branches over house, garage, and she needed removed as well as all the dead. Him and the 2 guys working with him were super polite, courteous, knowledgeable, excellent clean up. Made sure to move anything that could be moved as to not damage. Went way above and beyond when I had anticipated. Even when it started pouring in sheets, they are all out there raking, cleaning, and strapping down load. Also is insured. Would definitely recommend to anyone!!!Contacted Jeffery via email over weekend. Prompt response to setup on site quote. Flexible with my schedule. Able to get us taken care of right away. Just had him remove 2 Bradford pear trees. Had to work around the house and privacy fence. Showed up early for the job. Didn't have a problem waiting for his insurance to come through my email before starting. Was done in the time he said he would be. Would use him again and would recommend to anyone! Great friendly guy! Great crew, thorough cleanup.

Jeff and his crew did an excellent job on a 60’ tree removal with a very limited drop zone. The had to deal with my fence, pool and house that were very close to it. I would highly recommend them! I had a large maple that had some hollowed branches, overhanging a shed and our pool patio. Jeff and his crew were very careful and did an awesome job! He was also one of the lowest estimates. Hauled everything off and cleaned up the mess. I even came out at one point and found Jeff netting out our pool, quickly told him not to worry about that. They went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend!

Jeff responded quickly to my request for a quote, and came out the same day to give me an estimate to trim a large mulberry tree and remove some small elm trees. His price was fair, and he said he could come out the next day. He showed up when he said he would and did a great job trimming the tree and left the area cleaner than when they arrived. I had just called at 4:19pm, On June 10th, 2022, and a male answered the phone saying, "hello" which is now how professional businesses typically answer their phones. I introduced myself and said, "Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with, my friend?" The male said, "Whoever you called!" in an extremely rude manner. I then said, "Is this Humbolt Tree Service?" to which he responded with, "Yeah, hurry up." Absolutely do not give this unprofessional and ungrateful business any of your time and business. Abe's Lawn and Tree was incredibly professional and took time to assist my needs. I had called them before Humbolt and was calling additional places to shop around for prices as well as possibly get a sooner service, as Abe's was backed up a few weeks.Edited in order to reply to the business' reply, to further warn any new customers; Top section was my initial review: Not a spam account. I live in Wichita and due to the rain/wind storm from last night (this morning), there's a tree in our yard that needs removal. You're right... I have never done business with you, which is why I was calling you, big guy. That's what people do. They call to inquire about a business that they've never worked with. Did you think I was a spam account because I don't have a Wichita (316) area code number? I am obviously affiliated with another business, eh? Well, like your grammar and your improper use of your and you're, you need to re-evaluate how you handle business and be careful who may be on the other end of that phone. I am not affiliated at all with another business, tree removal or other. Have you heard of secret shoppers? Individuals who either work within the company to see how their employees are conducting business? Well they also do it with the BBB to evaluate companies in cities and states. So this post wasn't because I had nothing better to do. This post was because when someone treats someone the way that you treated me, someone you don't know who was looking for business, who also knows people in this area, it was to shine light on it. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising and while it can help you, it can seriously hurt you when you catch the wrong person to treat very poorly.

Before I even say anything. I can guarantee you this review will be met with an extremely defensive response where absolutely zero responsibility is taken and we will likely be accused of smearing or lying when really, we just wanted our downed tree removed.Early on 6/10/22 there was a horrible storm in Wichita knocking down one of our trees in our backyard. I took the liberty of looking up tree removal services for my husband to call and start to get quotes on. Humbolt was his second call to which when the phone was answered he was met with a "Hello?"My husband asked if this was Humbolt Tree Service he had called in order to clarify because usually businesses identify themselves on the phone when answering. This individual did not. When he was asked if this was the business he had called he was met with the sarcastic response and then told to "Hurry up" with what we were wanting. At that point it was clear we were wasting his time so my husband said we would not be doing business with him and hung up.I'm so disappointed in the response from the owner which was to accuse us of spam probably because our phone numbers are not local. Have you heard of moving to the area? Neither of us were born in the area but I can assure you we've lived in Wichita for several years. We don't even want anything from this business at this point, but we will advocate for ourselves to show what kind of precedence is set by poor business practices. It's sad because we would much rather support small local business, but we will not be supporting poor behavior.
