On December 9, 2022, I gave this company a 10% down payment of $1,641 as a deposit for my foundation repair. I waited 7 months and tried calling a few times to get a status or update. I was told by the office that Steve would call me back, and my calls were never returned by Steve. After waiting all this time and getting nothing, I had a situation come up and I was not able to afford the repairs. I kindly asked for a refund on my deposit and was told no. I would not recommend this company due to lack of communication and stealing my money.

We had the guys out after we noticed cracks appearing in our drywall and some water in areas in the basement. Everyone else I had out gave me estimates from 10-35k to fix our problems. Steve came out and was honest and to the point telling me that if I fixed my outside drainage issue, I almost definitely would not need my basement tore up. He showed me how to measure if I still thought the wall was moving. We shook hands and he left without giving me a quote or charging me for his time. He said, "You dont need anything jacked or anchored, just do the dirt work." I went from potentially looking at 35k to just over 2k for machine rentals. I've had 3 friends that have all used Hunter and Sons. They all were happy with the work done and how honest and open Steve is up front. I would/will recommend Hunter and Sons to everyone not for their quality of work, which is quite exceptional, but for their honesty. Not to try and make a buck but to try and fix a problem even if they don't make a dime. This company still does business the old way where a hand shake is a deal and a job is done, not a contract is signed, a product is sold and you're left wondering what just happened.

We have a basement closet door that developed a sheetrock crack off one corner and it sticks and won't close. The closet door right above it in the master bedroom, has the same issue. Settling foundation, right?I called the "big three" Wichita foundation repair companies and got three different solutions ( number of, and placement of piers). $15,000 to $18,000 solutions.I happened to talk to an excavation guy and he referred me to Hunter and Sons.Steve and Son came out and after seeing what the issues were, talked to me about the construction of the home, the type of soil that was hauled in to facilitate a view-out basement, and the seasonal expansion and contraction of the home.His 40+ years of experience of being a contractor (not a salesperson chasing a monthly quota), benefited me and I really appreciated the honest assessment.He would not let me pay him for his time spent at our home, but even there had been a standard trip charge, his assessment would have been worth triple!They are an honest company to do business with.

I gave Hunter & Sons 5 stars although I have not yet done business with them! Steve came out on two separate occasions to check out a serious basement leak and cracks in several brick walls. In each case he discovered a cause that would not improve on the cracked walls or fix the basement leak. Thankfully, he does not use salespeople or I might have had a massive, expensive dig, to repair a foundation that was not theproblem. Then, Steve discovered the cause of the basement leak. Our porch had tilted during the dry weather to allow water down the foundation wall. I have let a contract to replace the cement porch. Thanks Steve Hunter for your honesty.

We noticed changes in our foundation as a result of drought, surrounding new construction, age of home, etc. We have a somewhat unusual home comprised of handmade concrete bricks on interior and exterior structure, as well as foot deep concrete interior walls, with concrete slab floors. We noticed our floors seeming to somewhat settle/dip where one room joins to another in a few areas. He explained how the rooms were likely done, back in those days, in different batches/pours of concrete and is likely the cause of what would seem to be an issue.Aside from this issue, no other signs existed with cracks in wall, etc. causing him concern to drop a bunch of money on it. Our house is 70yrs old so we do not expect it to be perfect, but of course we want to preserve what we have at the same time. He thoroughly checked the property, inside and out, and expressed that he wouldn't recommend doing anything about this unless we were to see signs/changes causing further concern. We had gotten another bid elsewhere, causing us to question, leading us to these guys. So glad we did this or we would've potentially dropped a lot of money when not necessary. He said to call him if we started noticing further changes but otherwise he expressed his loyalty to our city and wanting to only recommend doing something if it's actually necessary. Grateful!!!

Steve and his son have been to our home 2 times in about a year. Turns out we do not have a foundation issue. We only know this because Steve took the time to explain things. He really helped us understand what was going on with our home. I believe if it wasn’t for Hunter and Sons we would be spending a lot of money that we didn’t need to. Hunter and son’s were referred to me by my father-in-law. They did excellent work on his home at a very reasonable price. We were fortunate to have met these people. Thanks again Hunter and Son’s

I had the pleasure of having the owner provide me with his honest opinion of the foundation cracks in my garage. He was totally transparent about my situation, never once using fear tactics or trying to pressure me into an expensive project. In fact, he recommended I just keep an eye on the situation and then offered some DIY options for improving my sump pump and the drainage in my egress window well, saving me thousands of dollars. I will definitely use this company in the future if/when the need arises!

I had no foundation damage but my 3 year old room addition was literally sinking. Cracking brick, doors and windows out of square and all. After consulting with Steve and 2 other companies the choice wasn't difficult to choose Hunter and Son. They installed helical piers and lifted it back into place. Steve accommodated my schedule and his crew completed the job in the amount of time that was estimated. Everyone with the company was very professional and considerate in every way possible. All the other reviews you read are spot on about them cleaning up the job site when they were done. I was impressed! I would highly recommend Steve and his crew for any job you need them for. Another bonus was that his price was less than the other 2 companies too! Thanks to Steve, James and the whole crew.

They came and completed our foundation work and left with not a speck left to clean up. It rained the day they worked from inside and put plastic down on carpet to avoid tracking a mess in and out. His team made it to my house sooner than expected, fixed the basement in just over a day, and left our space cleaner than they foundation. I called this morning to ask questions and possibly schedule an estimate on an issue with my back concrete patio. After explaining the problem, the were very familiar with the problem which is common in my neighborhood. They said they could come out, but gave me tips on how I could solve the problem which would be much cheaper and easy to complete. I very much appreciate their honesty and help with my problem.
