I really want to rate it higher. When we've used them, they've been phenomenal. Their services delivered seem to be great and affordable. But I cannot, no matter how hard I try, get follow up calls or bids on new services. I called at least 3 times for snow plowing, never got a return call. Called 5 times before we were able to get weekly mowings while my own mower was down. I've called a half dozen times for other stuff (bush hogging, aerating, fertilizing, etc). I think I got one call back on those. I really want to establish a relationship and give them my money; they don't seem to want the same.

Really needed a cord of firewood this winter extra so call the round after seeing these guys had some alongside the road on my travels that looked pretty good for firewood in the winter time. So I pulled over took the phone number somebody came out we asked them about it they said they'd have somebody call me Monday. The following Friday we called back and they give us a price on the chord of $250 for seasoned Hardwood. A little pricey but not bad for in the dead of winter. They said they would be there Monday or Tuesday morning. Never showed up Monday never showed up Tuesday. Call them back and they tell me they don't deliver during snow storms when will we literally had a dusting of snow 2 days in a row. We live in Maine this is not a snow storm. Finally we called them again on the next Friday because by now we were out of firewood and two weeks past when they were supposed to deliver it. They told us they would be there with it between noon and 5 p.m. and it actually showed up on time but only about a third of the wood was hardwood about a third of it was so rotten that it wasn't even worth burning and a third of it was soft wood that was really moldy. What good would I got out of it lasted me about 2 weeks at most. Not only was I disappointed with the service I was very disappointed with the product and the very high price of it. And a business like this knows exactly what they're doing, they are ripping people off to their benefit

I have worked with Black Bear Lawn Care at my work place for many years, both for lawn and landscaping services as well as for snow removal, shoveling our decks, salting, and sanding. They have been responsive, timely, and personable. They even offered a solution to our parking problem by providing parking grids embedded in our lawn area since our zoning wouldn't allow us to pave an area previously grassed. They have been professional, respond to questions quickly, and do everything with top quality. I was so happy with their services that I hired them this summer to do some residential landscaping at my home and am thrilled with the results. I highly recommend them for all-seasons of services, both for business and residential needs.

This company doesn't seem interested in getting a new customer. After seeing their trucks is my neighborhood I decided to hire them for some lawn care and snow removal. First contact I had was with one of the workers in my neoghborhood. I stopped let them know I was interested in hiring them they said they would let someone know and have them call me. The call never came so I reached out by phone to set up a estimate. I was told someone would call to set up a time. A week goes by no call... So I call again and request another estimate appointment. On my third contact John did call and schedule a time to come out. I waited around the house all day to catch him. Guess what John didn't show up. This company can't even get an estimate right don't waste your time or money they don't seem to have it together.

I had a consultation about putting in a new lawn and I was very excited. The lawn was seeded. I never had my calls returned about the promised follow up. This spring Jon gave his word that he would return and do the promised reseeding. Never returned my calls, never showed up. Such a disappointment. I'm sorry I didn't read more reviews before I hired him. I paid, he didn't deliver. Next stop: BBB.

I’m very happy with the work done for me over the years both commercial and residential. Everything is done as asked and great suggestions are given for plant types or hardscapes. I needed a cleanup job done quickly this spring. They came in, got the job done and I received many compliments on how great the yard/garden looked. I have also used them for years for plowing and cleaning snow off the roof of my home. Very friendly and hard working people who are respectful as well.

I had my lawn mower and snow blower "maintained" last spring. The blades were sharpened on the mower. I asked that they check out and repair, clean, replace anything that needed done to the old machines. When I went to use the snow blower for the first time this year (beginning of January), it back fired, and didn't start. I called BBLC. Didn't receive a return call for almost a week. In the meantime, I called another small engine repair shop nearby. They replaced the fuel line, which was dry rotten (had never been changed before), changed the oil (which was dirty and obviously not changed last spring), changed the spark plugs which were bad, and cleaned the jet in the carburetor, which dirty (and obviously not cleaned last spring). I will never take my machines to Black Bear Lawn Care again.

My landlord sent me a letter specifying time to move my vehicle so they can plow. They are never on time. Either 2 hrs early or 2 hours late. They don't plan ahead for more snow. At least 5 parking spaces are filled with snow. They may have the lowest bid but their work ethics are equally low.

So far this year the have damaged our generator and bent our propane line into the house. You have to be afraid of gas leaks and house fires because of their carelessness. In the past they were great but no longer. I would not recommend them at all!!!!!!

I have been a returning customer, until now. Every time I need something it is a struggle.John doesn't return calls, which has progressively gotten worse. Clearly does not value his paying customers.2 stars because the work they do is ok, but his customer service is horrendous.

I paid 300 dollars last year to get my lawn cleaned up. All they did was leaf blow my leaves into the forest line which all ended up blowing back into my yard. They cleaned and took away barely anything. Never hiring them again. Lazy work.

Horrible company and Horrible landlord lived in one of his places room windows full of black mold rotted and also bathrooms rotten ready to fall threw the floors have pictures but can't post them here
