I cannot say enough good things about this company! I'm an extremely mold sensitive person with autoimmune issues. To say I needed a company that understood my concerns is an understatement. I had interviewed 4 other companies before I found these guys. None of the other companies put my fears to rest. I asked a thousand questions which did not deter Jon Gordon in the least. He could not have been nicer or more professional. The customer service was incredible! In addition, John Thomas, the lead foreman on my project, was FANTASTIC!! He went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I felt comfortable with the process. His skill and attention to detail was impeccable. I even had a certified industrial hygienist check John and his team's work and the hygienist was impressed. He said it was the best "containment" he had seen in his entire career. This company deserves 10 stars...not five. Love them!

I couldn't be anymore thrilled with the end result. We had a leak in our basement. Wasn't sure where, we also had some mold growing and we reached out to MoldGone. Jon came and inspected the area and told me it would be wise to invest in a dehumidifier, which I did.Jon got back to me 2 days later with an estimate and we went on to have the work done. The gentlemen did a great job, unfortunately it unearthed another problem we are going to need fixed sooner rather than later, but isn't that how most projects work? I think the price we paid for the work that was done SAFELY was more than fair. Nothing else was added to our invoice and everything is cleaned up for us to proceed with what needs to be done next. I never write reviews but I wanted to write this review because it is exceptionally rare that a company will be so honest that they will tell you that you DON'T need their services. My wife and I had just bought a house and the inspection indicated that we had some growth in the attic.Jay came out and took a thorough look through the inspection photos and climbed into each of my 3 attic accesses and indicated that there was no growth. He answered my questions and explained everything thoroughly to make sure I understood, even going into why the inspector could have believed mold was present.I paid $150 for another company to inspect prior to calling Moldgone and was quoted thousands of dollars to scrub the attic and perform a full encapsulation, fogging and made to believe it was an emergency fix that needed scheduling ASAP. Thankfully I contacted Moldgone for a second opinion. I don't need their services further at the moment but if I did I'd be happy to use them!Service: Mold inspection

I highly recommend MoldGone. They went above and beyond in their remediation services and helped us through a tough spot. We had a nightmare situation with a pipe backup in a basement, and the whole project seemed overwhelming. They provided a very detailed estimate. It was expensive, but fair because it was a LOT of work, and the quality of the work, along with the excellent customer service made it worth it. They also worked with us through difficult scheduling issues and cramped conditions with crawlspace, etc. They even threw in additional service at no cost. Plus, they were friendly and informative throughout the project, walking us through it the entire way.The work included removing a lot of drywall, removing shower tiling, removing carpet, cleaning and sanitizing the area, running air purifiers, painting the affected areas with a mold-resistant coating, and more. When needed, they had the information ready and organized for the insurance.They were also awesome in that they broke down the estimates into separate categories for us, remediation and reconstruction.If we were able to afford the reconstruction part with them, we would have. But I appreciated that they were willing to still do the remediation. And the way they removed the drywall made it easier to replace.I am really grateful to have found them. I honestly don't know what we would have done if we hadn't. Hopefully, we won't need any more remediation in the future. Amazing! MoldGone came to our house, told us that it wasn't the death mold but rather allergies type mold. Fast turn around on quote and scheduling. MoldGone's crew went above and beyond for us by removing not just the insulation but also a lot of debris that was in our attic crawl spaces. MoldGone's crew was extremely professional and respectful of our home, especially since we have a newborn.The quality of the service is top notch! I feel completely confident that the mold was addressed and remedied in a safe way.We did have one issue that arose but MoldGone stood by their reputation of high quality customer service and fixed the issue without question.We highly recommend MoldGone for any of your mold remediation needs.

This was a great experience. I am very happy to have found Moldgone LLC. Everything was smooth from start to finish. The inspection was fast and simple, I received the quote quickly and the price could not be beat. They set the appointment and all communication in between were timely and informative. Jason & Curtis were my techs. They were friendly, fast, thorough, and did a wonderful job cleaning the model and repairing the area. I hope I never have mold again, but if I do, I will call them! Great reliable customer service. Jon came out to our house on time one day after we setup the appointment. He did an examination of the areas that we had concerns and told us not to worry because we did not have mold or water damage. He told us that whoever did our paint job did not do a good job or used cheap paint. He was very honest and someone I would do business with again in the future.

Huge thanks to John Thomas and Jake Thomas!! They helped turn our nightmare into a breath of fresh air. This review is long overdue - We were so relieved to finally have all the remediation completed that we got straight back to “living” and I’m just now getting to this. Not having dealt with anything like a mold problem before, we were very much up in arms as to the extent of the work needed as well as how long it was going to take to get our three affected rooms remediated. On top of that, you never know what kind of customer service you’re going to get and whether workers would rather you say less and just leave them alone. Not the case with these guys. After the first few minutes of speaking with and showing John Thomas and Jake Thomas the areas, it became VERY clear that we were in good hands. They were extremely nice guys and made us feel super comfortable with all of our otherwise odd questions and concerns. They communicated everything so patiently, and we didn’t once feel like we were worrying too much. It was professional service with a real personal touch (give these guys a raise!!). As far as the actual work, we could not have asked for a cleaner execution of the repair and cleanup - and they were done in about a day and a half. If I could give six stars, I would.

Jason and Curtis were the team assigned to us, but it started with their manager/supervisor who did the first assessment. He was punctual, professional and polite in how he conducted himself. He made sure he adequately checked each area of concern and his team came through and continued the work. Jason and Curtis arrived during the time they said they would and ended up leaving a littler earlier then they said both days. They closed off the areas they were working on, respected out no shoes/covered shoes home without even asking (they just observed our shoes near the door and my wife and I with socks/house shoes inside) and they cleaned up after themselves like they were never here. When they would converse with us, they were polite and courteous and we even had a brief talk about potential moving spots. This company made a stressful situation way less stressful and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for the services they provide.Service: Water damage-related mold removal

We had a great experience with Moldgone. Day of, Kevin and Shane were professional and trustworthy. Kevin communicated the process, how they would isolate the space to contain the mold. Kevin identified and sealed source of water leak. Moldgone's prices is also reasonable, which is why we chose them, along with the positive reviews.This is a local family 2nd generation business worth supporting!Update: One year later - no water leaks and no mold.

Everyone was super nice and professional. Curtis kept me up to date on the work as it was happening and gave me important tips on how to prevent other mold problems. It was a pleasure working with everyone on the crew. Most importantly, of the three mold remediation companies I interviewed, only MoldGone was able to diagnose the extent of the mold. Had I gone with one of the other companies, the problem would have been hidden but not solved.

We have had Moldgone out to our house more than once for water issues in our basement. Because we have serious allergies in our family, we can't take any chances with mold growth. Most recently Jon came out and gave us the best, most upfront, no nonsense mold inspection we have ever had. He recommended another company that could help us with the water intrusion and they were also great to work with. I was completely distraught to find that I had a considerable amount of mold in my basement. It was an awful feeling. This is a topic that I had absolutely no knowledge about. I received 3 estimates- not one was the same. It was confusing to say the least. After reading company reviews I settled on Moldgone. They came in with the least invasive approach. It seemed more reasonable. After coming in to start the work they noticed that the job was far, far more complicated. I was blown away at the way they owned the underestimation and quickly and efficiently set up a second day to thoroughly resolve my problem. They were professional, polite, clean and efficient. I strongly recommend them. Although I hope I never need their services again- they would be my first call if I did.

Jon, Jason, and the rest of the team at MoldGone are true professionals, and I wholeheartedly recommend them for mold remediation service. We had recently purchased a historic townhome in the Logan Circle neighborhood of DC which we knew to have significant mold issues. However, aside from a very obvious source in the sub-basement, we were not certain if/where other sources of mold growth were present in the home. Jon was very thorough on his initial visit, and used a moisture meter along with a keen eye to locate potential areas of mold growth behind drywall that another company's estimate had ignored. Mold was indeed present in these areas, and we were glad to both have it treated, and to receive feedback-about/remediation-of the underlying sources of the moisture that lead to the growth in the first place. Air quality post-testing revealed a job very well done, and to boot Jon graciously even offered to return in the spring to do a second follow-up test at no additional charge because of weather conditions on the day of testing. Beyond the high quality of the work, the team was a pleasure to work with: kind, patient, responsive, and available by both cellphone, text, and email. We can now, literally and figuratively, breathe easier and be without worry about moving into our new home! Big thank you to Jon, Jason, and the whole team at MoldGone!

I recently received a quote from Joe from Moldgone for mold in my condo, and I was very happy and appreciative that he came out. Joe was very honest with me about my specific mold situation and that it was not of the type that needed an expensive remediation at this time (he recommended a cleaning solution I could use). I don't know of too many contractors that are this honest, and for something that could as costly and scary as mold, I am lucky that I picked out Joe. Jon was so helpful. He came out within one business day after contacting him and was right in the given window. While it would have been very easy to tell us we needed extensive testing, Jon suggested he just come look before scheduling the more expensive testing.Jon took the time to explain to me what he was doing, why he was doing it and what it would have looked like had their been a real issue. I appreciate him educating me in what to look for in the future and explaining more about what he was evaluating.We ended up getting great news that the mold was old and not a danger. He could have easily said we need more testing before coming to the conclusion but was totally honest about his recommendation. Honesty can be a hard quality to find in these types of situations and is greatly appreciated.I would highly recommend Jon and MoldGone to anyone.

Called MoldGone for an assessment of our crawlspace, was able to make an appointment for within a couple of days (same week). Wound up not needing any actual work, but the gentleman who came out gave us great, easy-to-understand information and some basic recommendations for some ventilation work. Even though we determined that we didn't need to do anything, I still greatly appreciated the information and the honesty, that they weren't trying to sell me on something unnecessary.

Jon is a rare breed. He came out and look at my rental property after a toilet leak. Gave me solid advise on what was needed and not needed. I work as a professional contractor myself (unrelated trade). I deal with other contractors all day and I can say that beyond any doubt Jon is outstanding. He did not try to sell me anything I didn't need or use any high pressure tactics. He operates at a high moral level, which unfortunately is very rare. Hopefully I do not have any mold issues in my future, but if I do I am assured that I know who to call.

Jon was great: examined the issue in a basement room, it was not harmful mold and was caused by humidity, recommended solution (humidifier with drainage) + said that we can get mold cleaning products to clean up from hard surfaces ourselves; said he was happy that we didn’t have a bigger issue and didn’t charge us.
