Terrific experience with Tom and his crew at MCP. We had our chimney lined, chimney crowns rebuilt and firebox rebuilt - couldn't be happier with the outcome. Tom and his crew were professional, polite, cleaned up after each day of work and did outstanding work. He explained everything they were going to do during the project and answered all of my questions. The MCP bid was competitive with two other bids I received but the scope of work provided by MCP far exceeded that of the other two contractors. Great experience all around.

Both my son and I were equally impressed with the men. They introduced themselves and after a brief look at the fireplace set off working. The lead tech answered all questions and was knowledgeable of the stove we were installing. All three were friendly and polite. Once they were done clean up commenced and then they were gone. MCP recently completed a fireplace remodel. I had selected them after much research and trust in their attention to detail.Overall, I had a great experience. All employees that I met throughout the process were very helpful and pretty amazing to work with. They asked a lot of input to make sure it was custom designed.When I had an issue with the molding at the completion of the project, they worked with me to ensure it was perfect. They definitely get 5/5 stars.

Tim came to our home and replaced a chimney cap that had blown off in the last wind storm. He was very professional, careful, and knew what he was doing. He also took pictures of his work (before and after) and sent them to me. I asked him as a favor to take photos of my gutters and he was glad to do so. My experience with MCP was smooth and efficient! I was initially so nervous about this project (brick veneer) but was reassured by Tim that I would receive the quality I was looking for and MCP did not disappoint! I am so happy with the results which were impeccable. The project was completed within the timeframe provided and the crew was friendly and meticulous. I should also note that a few months prior, MCP also replaced our wood oven insert and the crew handling that project were also super kind and thorough. Last but just as importantly, Tim has been amazing throughout both processes, providing insight and even sending video tutorials so that we would know how to use our new wood oven insert safely and efficiently. He even offered to come show us himself. We really appreciated the above and beyond helpfulness of Tim and the pleasant experience we had from the entire staff. Thank you!

We ended up calling MCP Chimney for a second opinion and we highly recommend them. Called someone else first who told us we needed lots of work done. Justin from MCP came and said we don't even need it cleaned yet! Used a drone to view the chimney exterior. Super efficient. Arrived early. Honest. Everything we look for in a good business.

The 3-person time was efficient, knowledgeable and responsive. They worked steadily all day putting new flue tiles, stainless steel rain covers and concrete crowns on one chimney, and taking another chimney partially down (we went electric and didn't need it anymore) to the roof line. They then did grinding and repointing all remaining mortar joints on the latter chimney that has been the source of water leaks into our house. They resealed all the flashing, and the next day applied chimney saver water repellant over the repointed work area to further mitigate water entry through the brickwork. We were most impressed, and I should also note they were the low bidder on the project. MCP Chimney & Masonry had been recommended by a neighbor and we're glad we used them.Brian D. in Silver Spring

Once we decided to have a wood stove insert installed I knew I wanted to go with a local company whose sign I’d seen many many times. So I called MCP and arraigned for an estimate. Tanner Cope arrived when he said he would and we discussed reasonable options for our needs.Once we decided on the right stove for us - a Pacific Energy Summit. he proceeded to climb onto the roof for an inspection.He then showed us some photos of some cracks near the top of the chimney that needed to be repaired. I honestly had no idea that issue surfaced till he showed me the pictures.He then worked up an estimate that fell within our expected range.We then settled on a date and they were able to squeeze us in around 3 weeks earlier due to a cancellation.The crew that arrived were two of the hardest working men I can recall having done a job for us. Very very impressive!!During a brief power outage they even had someone from the shop start to drive out a generator however, the power came on and it wasn’t needed.The wood stove looks great and heats even better!Kudos to MCP and Tanner!

Professional, Efficient, ThoroughJustin arrived on time, inspected and cleaned the chimney and flue and recommended a couple minor customer fixes to assist with better efficiency in an old wood stove. Justin was very polite and knowledgeable and extremely helpful explaining minor adjustments that would assist with a more efficient heat. You will not know ultimate stone and masonry until you see what MCP Chimney can do. listen to this.I had a 100% custom design outdoor fireplace design that included a pizza oven. I had at least 10 other companies come in to bid. about 1/2 said they only use prefab, couple said they could figure it out and 2 never even gave me an estimate.Then I had Justin show up and he answered every question made some design suggestions and gave me a bid for the fireplace.I also needed a patio and he bid that in without blinking.We agreed, his crew showed up on time, worked everyday until the job was done. What a pleasure dealing with such a professional company. From the first call to make an appointment to the day of the service call. The day of the service call the technician Justin arrived on time, put on protective covering on his boots and looked at the damper that needed repair. He assessed the issue and repaired the damper. I had another company tell me because of the dampers age it's not worth repairing and wanted to sell me a new damper system. I am so glad I waited for a second opinion. I highly recommend MCP Chimney for all repairs and maintenance. These folks are the best!

I'll never call another company for chimney work again! MCP Chimney is professional and honest. I called our usual company for annual inspection and cleaning and they told me we needed a new and very expensive liner. They had never noted any damage at all before and now they wanted thousands of dollars and said we shouldn't use the fireplace without the work being done. Given the amount I called another company and actually received the same answer. It still didn't sit right with us given the age of the fireplace and what we could see. I decided to call one more place and try and find a local, family-owned business. MCP came and used live video that we could watch with them as they completed the inspection. They found no issues that warranted repair and said it didn't even need to be cleaned. They knew we had been told by two other companies that we needed work done so they could have easily advised the same and just under bid the others to do the work. However, it was clear they were motivated by doing the right thing. Save yourself the expense and the run-around with MCP Chimney & Masonry.

MCP just completed a wonderful remodel of my very blah builder grade gas fireplace. Tim not only repaired my fireplace remote when he came to give me an estimate, he helped design, accurately estimated and turned my idea into a beautiful focal point. Chance and his team expertly removed the old mantel, raised the hearth and firebox on the inside and outside. Eloy and his team of masons surrounded the hearth, the firebox and mantel with stacked stone which they took all the way to the ceiling. ALL of the team members were courteous, friendly, and thorough professionals. My house remained dust free and clean throughout the four-day process. THANK YOU so much. Tanner from MCP came out today to clean my dryer vent and was great. He worked efficiently and professionally, removed an embarrassing amount of lint from my vent, and got the dryer and vent cover put everything back together to a point you'd never even know anyone was here unless you noticed the greatly increased airflow coming from my dryer.I'll definitely use MCP again in the future, and also will plan to use them next time I need my chimney serviced.Service: Dryer vent cleaning

We recently used MCP Chimney and Masonry to convert our wood burning fireplace into a gas fireplace. We had been living in our house 8 years and NEVER used the fireplace. So I wanted to get our current fireplace inspected and updated with a gas insert so it would be easy for me to use.The initial estimate was with Jason. Jason was very professional, explained everything that would need to be done to our chimney, and gave us an estimate that I felt was reasonable given the amount of work that needed to be done. And there was a lot of work. The top the chimney was crumbling and needed repair, the chimney cap fell off years ago so water and bats had gotten inside the chimney. Jason was with me throughout the entire process, calling me with updates, and was always responsive to my questions via email.The actual work was performed by Chance and his crew (Mike, Javier, and RJ). I cannot say enough good things about these guys - especially that first day where the majority of the outside work and repairs were being done. The guys literally shovels buckets and buckets of bat guano out of out chimney (SORRY GUYS!). But they were hard working and kept me informed every step of the way - even when an unforeseen issue came up and we needed put in a direct vent instead of using the existing flue. Even Mike the owner came out to my house when this issue came up and weighed in on the situation. So when a decision was presented to me, I knew that it was the best solution for the situation.MCP Chimney works directly with a plumber (Chris) who was very thorough with is work installing the gas lines to the fireplace. Thank you Chris!Overall the work to repair to the chimney, running a gas line, prepping the fireplace for the county inspection, and then closing up the fireplace (prepping it for a future tile surround) took 4 days over a 2 week span.I would 100% recommend MCP Chimney and Masonry and especially if you can use CHANCE and his crew. I'm even going to cont MCP again to have them draw me up a quote to a tile surround in the future. Thank you again guys!BTW - I LOVE my gas fireplace. We decided to work with MCP initially because of stellar reviews, however, there were some bumps in the road. We were disappointed when we were told numerous times via appointment confirmation that we would be called 30 min prior to arrival. We were not living in our home due to extensive damage and needed that 30 min to meet the MCP crew at the home. The first day of work we were never called but the MCP crew entered our home and started demo anyway. The mantel that we ordered came in damaged 4 times before one came that was usable, but this was during the height of COVID when literally everything backordered. Just had Tanner stop by to check out our current gas fireplace which is not working and to see other options. Not only did he explain the options, along with the pros and cons, he also went out of his way to see why our current gas fireplace was not working. He advised us to call MCP and schedule an appointment with their gas fireplace specialist who will take apart the gas fireplace for a through inspection and cleaning, and hopefully find the reason for the failure to ignite.I will post another review, after the gas fireplace specialist comes by. But Tanner gets 10/10 in my books, and will receive my business from now on.
