Very happy with my experience with MAK Remodeling! We found them to be reasonably priced in comparison to the 4 other quotes we received. We ultimately choose them because they were especially more professional. They showed up on time every morning and cleaned up every evening before they left. Rob and his crew were able to schedule the work quickly after we decided to move forward and they worked very efficiently as we were able to see progress each day. In a little over 8 weeks they completely renovation our basement into the dream entertainment and hang out area that we desired. They also matched the quality and looks of the main floor of our house (Columns, cabinets, baseboards and paint) to the basement so it’s seamless in design when going from upstairs to downstairs, which really kept my wife happy.MAK was very responsive with Rob giving us regular updates, and allowing us to make minor changes throughout the project. We felt very comfortable throughout the entire process.I found the work to be of high quality with good attention to detail. It’s been a few months since completion and everything continues to look and work great. I think they went above and beyond on a few elements that others would have nickel and dimed us on. Highly Recommended!!! From the start to finish this was a smooth and efficient whole house renovation. Our onsite project manager was Jerry. I loved working with Jerry. He communicated with me daily and made sure I was a happy customer. One thing I noticed that stood out was that he did his own punch list before I did my final walk through and he had already identified everything that needed a touch up. Hello,I used M.A.K remodeling for my basement renovation and was over all happy with the out come. In this review I will list some pros and cons but ultimately I gave a 4 out of 5.Pros: Excellent craftsman, Good execution of my overall vision, Quality work based on price charges. Cons: Communication is lacking at times in regards to letting me beforehand when they wanted to come over to the house to make the renovation, a few times I would have to go behind and send them pictures of things that needed to get fixed based on the contract before I sent payment. I also would have like more of a break down on the cost of each section of the project rather than just one large number, transparency is very important to me.Overall they did a great job and other than a few issues here and there I would recommend them to anyone who asks.Service: Remodeling

MAK IS THE BEST! We recently had the remaining spaces in our basement finished. We decided to use MAK Remodeling Services because of their professionalism, expertise, and they made us feel like a part of the MAK family from the initial consultation! The entire process from start to finish was amazing! This was our first remodeling project and because of MAK it won’t be our last. The initial walkthrough with Anthony helped eased our minds as we talked through the plan. The next highlight was meeting and working with Sophala! She’s great! She helped us choose just about everything! I can be indecisive and she helped guide us to making decisions! She was always available to answer questions, provide updates, and literally walked us through each step of this project. We had 3 unfinished spaces which are now a guest/play room, a bar lounge, a gym, and storage room! This is where Jerry and Wayne enter! We honestly don’t want to work with any other project managers! When they said text them or call them with anything they meant it and were always immediately available to respond and handle anything! The first day of demo I had tears of excitement with anticipation at the thought of what was to come and now that they are done tears of gratefulness and told my husband awww I’ll miss them! They took care of our home as if it was their own! Covered all furniture, carpets, staircase to the main floor, changed air filters weekly, etc. to ensure everything was contained to the work space! They made sure everything was perfect and I mean PERFECT! They take pride in their work and it shows! Jerry and Wayne were open with suggestions to make something originally planned better and never made a change without communicating with us each step of the way! It really matters and is of the upmost importance to work with contractors that are honest and transparent throughout the project. The completed spaces are beyond what our thoughts dreamed up! We seriously couldn’t be happier with the outcome of our new basement! Until next time MAK…. just gotta decide what to do next! We recently contracted MAK to finish our basement, which is a very large space. While the project took longer than expected, it was definitely worth the wait. WE LOVE OUR BASEMENT!!! We have a custom bar, gym, theatre room, bedroom, and game room. Rob's design of the bar (along with my design ideas), and gym have proven to be focal points of the open portion of the basement. My husband's design of the theatre in conjunction with MAK's craftmanship, has given us our own personal movie-theatre experience. MAK was also quick to incorporate any design changes we had mid-project. Jerry was great to work with and helped us make some minor enhancements to the design. He also kept us abreast of the status of the project. Wayne (affectionally known to us as "Little Wayne") was very responsive and did whatever he could to make us happy. If he saw something wrong, he was quick to resolve it to meet our satisfaction. Sophala is the glue that holds everything together. She responded to my many emails quickly and would let me know if she was going to be out of the office. She was very helpful in the selection of various features (e.g., flooring, tiles, hardware, etc.) We have already contacted them for an estimate for our next project (bathroom and kitchen updates). As long as we can work with Jerry and Wayne, we know the job will be done to meet or exceed our expectations. I give Jerry and Wayne both 5+ stars!!! They are amazing!! The only "con" I have is relative to the painters, who had to come back a few times to resolve some very blatant issues. This was a little frustrating, but Jerry and Wayne made sure all issues were resolved. This was not our first remodeling project, so we know how these projects should work. I highly recommend contracting MAK for your home remodeling projects. I can't wait to see what Rob has in mind for our bathroom remodel.Service: Remodeling

I was so thrilled with the work, schedule and cost of a major foundation repair MAK construction completed at my house that they were the first call I made when I wanted to remodel two small rooms into one dining room. They are fantastic - both jobs were quite large and they hit the cost and schedule targets both times!! I would recommend this company to anyone who is seriously looking for a quality contractor. After nearly 10 years of rebuilding a house ( it needed everything) - this is the first company I have come across that delivered on their promises. MAK Remodeling did several different projects for us including a full bathroom re-model (moving plumbing and electrical) and re-doing hookups for our laundry room. They were extremely easy to work with and always really responsive. Their team was professional, gave us honest advice about our project, and ultimately the work they did was beautiful and finished on time. We ended up having an issue with the plumbing in the bathroom and they handled that crisis quickly and completely.They also came out weeks after completing a project to check on something we were worried about, which turned out to be fine, but they didn't charge us a thing. We will definitely use them again for future projects and would highly recommend them.

Within a day Rob was at my front door ready to discuss what he could do. After coming up with a game plan I was given a very fair price and construction began with 2 weeks of the initial visit. M.A.K. recently completed building out our basement. Rob, the owner, was easy to talk to. He explained everything about the construction quite thoroughly, provided a 3D drawing of the finished product, and he was in contact frequently during the construction phase.We are absolutely thrilled with our new basement! M.A.K. began construction with concrete walls and the floor. They built a separate laundry room, framed in a bathroom around the plumbing rough-in and built a wonderful family/rec room with drywall, carpet, LED ceiling lights and an excellent paint job.If you need to have construction on your house and you live in Southern Maryland or the D.C. metro area, I highly recommend this company. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

We contacted this company for a bathroom remodel. Initially feedback was great and we thought it was convenient that they are close to our home. They mailed us a packet of brochure about their company. The person who came to do the estimate came a week or so later and did what he needed to do. He left and said he will be sending his proposal via email. After several weeks of phone calls and emails, we finally got a response from the gentleman regarding our estimate. He said what we needed done is not possible because of the space requirements. Instead of making us wait for weeks he could have told us when he came that their company is not skilled enough to do complicated jobs. Really??? It is not that complicated. AND instead gave us an expensive estimate to just remodel what we currently have - I could have done that myself and wouldn't have wasted both of our time. But because this one requires plumbing under concrete slab and reframing new walls with electrical stuff, I can't tackle the job myself. Found another company who are obviously more skilled and have knowledge of what they are doing. It costs a little more but not so much. I wish we didn't have to waste almost a month dealing with this company. We would have had our home project done before our family from out of state came to visit us. Absolutely would NOT recommend this company. Time is money and our time was wasted.

I can only speak on the lack of customer service I experienced. I called this company over a week ago to get a simple quote to finish a media room in the basement of the house that we’re having built. The lady named Aprol seemed nice enough, but I had to do a lot of explaining regarding what we were looking to have done. It’s a simple job, but she seemed really confused as to what I was explaining/asking.To make it easier, I sent her the exact blueprint of the basement and room we were looking to have completed. She advised I would get a quote in a matter of 24 hours. It’s been over a week and still no quote. I called her back to follow up, she said someone would contact me. Surprise, Surprise...still no follow up or quote. If this is how they treat customers, looks like they did us a favor.
