My family and I are so grateful to have hired Finecraft Contractors to conduct a near complete renovation of our 1932 Cape Cod, single family home. We selected Finecraft at the recommendation of our architect, Julia Daitch, of Caswell Daitch Architecture (who is also amazing). Julia explained that Finecraft was trustworthy, obsessed with quality workmanship and talented enough to take on complex, multi-faceted projects. Of the half dozen contractors we explored working with, nearly all seemed overwhelmed by the scope of our project, especially given the limitations of our budget. Finecraft was different. They listened to our goals, understood our budget and ultimately, brought our dream to life. While Finecraft was not the lowest bid we received, we are confident that they presented the best value.We lived in our modest sized home for more than a decade before deciding to renovate. It had long felt cramped, outdated, and deeply in need of a refresh (new pipes, wiring, etc). Finecraft totally reimaged the space, transforming it into a beautiful example of mid-century modern style architecture. These days, we regularly feel as if we are living inside a functional art piece that still very much feels like home (both peaceful and practical).Our day-to-day experience of working with Finecraft Contractors:Our project manager, William, led a team of highly talented craftsmen, who worked tirelessly, with focus and joy every single day they were at our house. From start to end, Finecraft Contractors were at our house on time and worked 7:30am-5pm.When our budget ran low, the Finecraft team found creative solutions that left us feeling almost like we weren't compromising. They fabricated doors, custom cabinetry, and essentially, made art out of everything they touched.Anyone considering Finecraft should take time to speak to recent clients and even visit one of their showcased homes which they often put on display. Touring these spaces left us absolutely floored by the level of detail, quality finishes and artistic flourishes that are present in every Finecraft project we viewed, no matter the size.A final word: Finecraft is a family owned and operated company, which we very much appreciated. From the beginning to the end, we felt their warm embrace and support. The owner, George, and his right hand person, Vivian, gave generously of their time, care, intelligence, humor, patience and vision. Whenever we faced challenges they displayed great fortitude, perseverance, calm and confidence. We simply couldn’t be happier to have worked with Finecraft Contractors. While renovating a home is never easy, inexpensive or hassle free, Finecraft made the experience something we will always remember fondly. This is the second project we have done with FineCraft. First, we did a small porch refit and now we have completely refurbished our kitchen. Their attention to detail, tight project coordination, and respect for our concerns gave me an excellent experience. We completed a major addition and renovation project with Finecraft in February of 2023. The construction took almost 9 months and we are thrilled with the result! The entire project came out beautifully and everyone who visits us raves about the quality and care with which the work was done. Due to special family circumstances, one of our requirements was to remain in our house during the construction. Finecraft respected our wishes and worked with us to limit the disruption to our everyday lives as much as possible. We were so impressed with the helpfulness and professionalism of the entire Finecraft team! They were truly a pleasure to work with. Finecraft was a pleasure to work with. We completed a full renovation with them at the end of 2019. Their work was great and they couldn’t have been nicer people to work with. George and Vivian were always a pleasure and truly understand how to work with an owner while going through such a big project. They were not the cheapest group we could find, but they certainly were not the most expensive either. The fact that they have been in business for so long and have established a strong reputation gave us confidence that they could get the job done and done well. The reason I’m writing this now, is that almost 4 years later, our shower sprung a leak. This was clearly outside the warranty period, but after a quick call and walk through with the fine craft team, they agreed to cover the labor and were able to get our shower back in working order quickly. No fighting or chasing them down needed. They truly stand by their craftsmanship and are just downright good people. I highly recommend them for any project you are working on. Take it from someone in the real estate business, it is worth paying a little extra to get a contractor you can trust and that will actually show up when you need them to. I know of too many horror stories of friends that went with the lowest cost provider only to have their project delayed or significantly over budget because of a poorly run/shady contractor. 10/10 recommend Finecraft!

BLUF: Promising looking company, extremely hit or miss service, ultimately ghosted by the companyThe week ending November 18th (can't remember the specific day), I reached out to FineCraft to get a quote started on some updates and renovations to my kitchen and living room via their website. I received an email from (one of?) their business managers (Niko), asking a few scoping questions about the project(s). I responded within a few minutes of receiving that email and provided some loose design sketches and diagrams of the space. Niko provided a rough estimate and connected me with their scheduling team to get a site visit in place to provide a more accurate estimate. At this point, I was thrilled with them - consistent and cogent feedback, a coordinated process - this was the type of organization I had been looking for from a business that I'm preparing to spend a large sum of money and time with.I connected with Andrea from their scheduling team to get the visit on the calendar. It was during the week of Thanksgiving, so understandably, it took a few days for everyone to coordinate and set up a time that works. We land on the morning of December 7th (2 weeks away from the date at that time).The morning of December 7th comes, and I receive a text from one of FineCraft's Project Managers, Elvis, at 7AM that he's having car trouble ('dead truck battery') and wouldn't be able to make our appointment that day. While disappointing - he was communicative about the sudden obstacle. I asked him who I should reschedule with (him or Andrea) and he said he would handle scheduling. We rescheduled directly via text for December 12th in the early afternoon.The morning of December 12th comes and I haven't received any communication from Elvis - which at the time I took as a good sign. The time of our appointment rolls around and I send Elvis a text to let me know when he's parked so that I can let him in (my building can be confusing to some). I see a read receipt from his phone but no response. 15 minutes go by... still nothing from him. A full 30 minutes go by and I let him know that I'm sorry he wasn't able to make our scheduled appointment and hoped that everything was okay. I receive a text from him shortly after sending my message apologizing and an explanation about a sudden 'family emergency'. The 'read receipts' which had previously been on all of the previous texts had been turned off. At this point, this reeks of sketchy, and I'm hoping it's limited to Elvis.I emailed Niko, and CCed the scheduling team to let them know of everything that's transpired following the initial appointment scheduled with Andrea.I wanted to provide them with a last opportunity for the project, otherwise, I'll be moving on to another general contractor. I asked them to email me within 24 hours letting me know of their decision. About 30 minutes later I receive an email from Andrea apologizing and letting me know they would still like to pursue the project and would be following up with me before the close of business. ,It is now December 18th and I haven't received any kind of communication from them since that last email from Andrea on 12/12. Unfortunately, at this point, they were a waste of my time and a disappointment.I'm sorry to say fellow readers reading this, that despite the high 'star rating' FineCraft has across multiple different sites - the reality doesn't match the marketing. Best of luck finding a trustworthy contractor - this one doesn't appear to be it.

The relationship lasts well after the end of the renovation! Years after we moved into our home renovated by FineCraft, a freak storm incident caused water to enter our house from the roof (through no fault of FineCraft’s), damaging interior walls and floors. And of course, it happened in the middle of the night on a holiday. We made the “9-1-1” calls to our insurance company and ServPro, which responded right away to address the interior water remediation, but the particular franchise assigned to our emergency was unable to handle the exterior roof work—we were on our own. I reached out to FineCraft for help and they responded immediately. Two roofing companies, including one referred by ServPro, came out as well. FineCraft was the only firm creative and experienced enough to think of and execute a comprehensive, longterm solution that would not adversely affect the exterior design of our home. Moreover, their solution was by far the most cost effective. I already tell people that I’d trust FineCraft with my life, and the commitment and integrity they displayed in helping us during this moment of dire need (occurring well after the end of their construction and warranty period) exemplifies why. We hired FineCraft to remodel our home in Arlington. The remodel included reconfiguring interior rooms, fixing and painting the exterior, new windows and doors, new electrical/plumbing/mechanical, a new patio, garage renovation, and all interior work. FC worked with our architect to bring the vision to life and we are happy with the results. There were some construction and supply issues along the way, as expected on any project, but they worked with us and the architect to find solutions. We were disappointed with the final finishing of the hardwood floors, and some of the HVAC and drywall work, which contributed to a 4 vs 5 star review. The carpentry and problem solving were very good. We love the patio and stonework. The project timeline was only about 1 month later than predicted, which was understandable considering it was during 2020 (COVID) and for the size of the remodel. FC was able and willing to fix punchlist and warranty items, which was good; it was harder to maintain communications or get crews to the house during the warranty period, but everything was eventually taken care of, and they made sure things were made right, even addressing some issues that should have been covered by a manufacturer.Service: Remodeling
